So I had my birth control that was placed in my arm 2 years ago removed 2 weeks ago today. I was placed on the nuvaring in which I inserted the day I had my other birth control removed. I had unprotected sex with my husband three days after insertion. I am cramping and having breast tenderness. Is there a chance of pregnancy? Do you know if anyone that has gotten pregnant while switching over to the nuvaring?
I started Nuvaring September the 18th of this year and I did not have sex till October 1st but me and my partner didn't use a condom and he came inside me, do I have to use a contraception pill or will I be okay?
Why is my period on again after inserting the nuvaring?? I thought it was suppose to stop when u insert it in the vigina and your period comes on after taking it out... I'm confused why is my period on again while my nuvaring is inserted??
I had the Mirena IUD inserted September of 2011and removed mid October 2012 because it was slipping out of place. I spotted just a day or two with both insertion and removal. but absolutely nothing in between. I started Nuvaring the week after Mirena was removed (per docs orders). I was told my period would regulate its self within a few months. Well, here I am 10 months later after Mirena has been removed and I have yet to even see a spot of blood.

If you still have the insert that comes with each pill pack, it should have instructions about what to do if you forget pills, and will tell you whether you're protected based on how many you forgot and which week it was. But your absolute best choice is to use a backup method (like condoms) until you start your next pill pack. Your ob/gyn can also advise you on the matter.
I am going to get the paraguard iud 8 weeks after birth. Its a non hormal insertion so you dont have to remember to take anything and no crazy side effects because its non hormonal. If you have insurance it should be affordable. Actually cheaper than pills in the long run. You can chose one that stays in for 5 or 10 years but can get it removed at any time if you want to have a baby and start trying right away! Its 99% effective.

Yes, it is not uncommon to have irregular period with the in and out of the nuvaring. Remember to be consistent with birth control. If your period doesn't show in a week, then take a pregnancy test to be sure (over the counter, home urine test).
I had the paraguard for 4 yrs before removing it to conceive. The insertion for me KILLLLEEEDDDD me it hurt so bad but thats also cuz I never had a vaginal birth nor was I on my period (they recommend coming in to get it done on ur period Cuz ur more open)... the "cramping" I got after insertion was bad. Ib profen 800 every 6 hrs... my periods went from 5 to 7 days and cramps WERE SO SO BAD I had to take ib 800 for 7 days everyday of my period every 6 hrs or id be in tears.

The patch is changed once a week, and the NuvaRing once a month. An IUD can stay in for 5 years. And using condoms is always a good idea.
If you don't take your pills properly, especially if you miss several days, you can end up with spotting. That's probably all that's happened, but if you miss a period (most pack instructions say if you miss two periods in a row), you should take a pregnancy test.
Am post vitrectomy, cryotherapy and insertion of gas bubble 10 days ago. Follow up appointment showed my eye pressure was higher now than immediately post op. Then it was 35 now it's 39. I am a 45 yr old, don't know how worried I should be. They have given me more drops and medication and want to see me in a fortnight. Can I do anything to help bring the pressure down. I was posturing post op, will more of that help?
Hello,On or about June the 8th I engaged in about 10 second of insertion vaginally(No condom so I stopped).I stopped ejaculate, to an amoxicillin bathed and left.Weeks later I find out that the lady's in jail and was on drugs! Today(7/19) I get a oraquick and there was a dark line for negative and faint line for positive. The instructions said if this happens then it's positive.Im going to the clinic today to get another test done.
i started Nuvaring 3 weeks ago yesterday when i was supposed to ive had sex w/o protection quite a few times since. I was supposed to start my period yesterday Im NEVER late early if anything I took a pregnancy test last night and it came back negative. Is it possible that I am pregnant and that its just not showing up positive yet?
My periods have been very heavy with the past one lasting two weeks with large tissue discharge. It just ended Sunday after beginning one week before removing Nuvaring and only ending once Nuvaring was reinserted. It is so irregular that I could bleed any time of the month at any intensity for any period of time. This past one was so bad that I had to sleep with a heating pad nightly. What could this mean?
I had unprotected sex today. I recently started on Nuvaring and was told I needed 7 days for it to become effective. Today is the 7th day. Should I take a Plan B just in case?
