So we went to a doctor and he gave out to urine culture report. And that report says, Klebsiella Oxytoca(K.Oxytoca) is isolated in the urine. It is a urinary tract infection. It also says that the colony count of the bacteris is 1,00,000 cfu/ml. Hence, doctor prescribed some medicines like Uribid with nitrofurantoin in it, Prothiaden M, Montemac FX for allergy and Hifenac-P for fever and also Cital syrup for UTI.
Bilirubin, LDH, Direct Coombs Test, Indirect Coombs Test, Anti RBC Antibodies, Anti RBC antibodies titrenvd, CBC, Bilirubin in Urine, ESR, Creatinine, Urobilinogen, Hemaglobin, Hematocrit all seem to be fine, but Haptoglobin is <0.01 - completely depleted in three tests done in a week. No history or symptoms of anemia or haemolysis.
9 days ago Nitrofurantoin (200g a day for 5 days) was taken and daily birth control (Qlaira).
Since taking the Nitrofurantoin, my back pain comes and goes, jumps in severity, sometimes subtle, sometimes severe, my penis seems a little sore (mainly urethra) and testicle area too. Very mild though. I also get sweats (like a hot flush), shakes, random sharp itches and mild tingling in my hands. Perhaps these are side effects of the medication? I’ve read a few are possible.
As I say, urine samples all appeared normal. All blood tests also show no concern to any bodily functions.
PS -- I neglected to say that Macrodantin is the brand name of generic nitrofurantoin, which is the name used in the information above.
but still the is no change. I still have some pains. I was diagnosed with an UTI, in the urine and blood test the was no Chlamydia, gonorrhea or syphilis in short no STI. But and the doctor, prescribed ciprobid, doxyl and nitrofurantoin for me and my wife. I have visited the doctor 3times and the last tested I did.

The doctor could see no infection so she made me do a kidney function blood test. The kidney blood test was fine . So I read online that blood can give me a Uti.

She’s had no other symptoms but itching. We go back for urine test in am and I’m sure she still has the bacteria as she is itching. All the tests showed either a small amount or moderate amount of blood but all tests were negative for nitrates and leukocytes. The enterococus keeps increasing with each round of antibiotic. Hi, Its is common for patients who have Interstitial Cystitis to have a few real urinary tract infections in the past, then start to have symptoms with no infection in the urine. White blood cells in the urine don't necessarily mean infection and needs a workup if the cultures are negative. A urine culture is key rule in or rule out the infection. If there is no infection by the culture but you still have symptoms you may have IC.
short duration course of a basic antibiotic such as nitrofurantoin may be suggested in low grade infection. With the part history of chronic infections, the dose/ duration of the antibiotic may not be irrelevant in the scenario; though in the current situation, treating the primary cause i.e. the fistula may be suggested, to avoid complications.
Hi girls, I've been having a little bit of blood in my urine, on and off, for the past few weeks. It shows up on my liner as carnation pink, and my midwife measured it in a urine sample (plus leukocytes, aka white blood cells). The urine sample was sent off and came back as mixed growth meaning it was impossible for the microbiologists to determine if I had a UTI. I provided another sample a few days ago and am awaiting its results (but there wasn't any blood or WBCs in it).
After 7 days of this exposure i feel UTI like symptoms and diagnosis done by a urologist and tell me that u have UTI. My urine culture was positive with E.coli. i took antibiotics Doxycycline, nitrofurantoin, fosfomycin, farobact, Mikacin . Symptoms go away after 40 days of antibiotic course. But after one month symtoms repeats.

I had protected vaginal sex with a woman 2 and half weeks ago and 4-5 days later noticed burning during urination and freguent need to pee. after a week of symptoms went to urologist who said i have WBC in urine and its very alkaline that makes my burning symptoms. I also noticed my uertha tube was quite red from tip. There has not been any sores in genital area and iv never had STD before.
Ultra sound came back clear. Was back at doc today with the same symptoms, no blood was found in urine sample, just acidic levels were not normal also protein found. I was prescribed antib's but only to take if things get worse, ie temp continues and back pain. Has anybody else experienced this before or have any idea what is causing this or how i can prevent it persisting????
I have been prescribed nitrofurantoin (macrobid) for a UTI. I have a hard time swallowing pills. Can these be broken up?
You could also have inflammation of the urinary tract which would result in white blood cells in urine, but bacterial UTI is the most common cause. Some women have Sterile pyuria which is persistent white blood cells in urine without any bacterial infection at all. That's not super common and usually having white blood cells means UTI or kidney issue. They will likely check you for these again. How can you test for these on your own at home?

100,000 colony forming units per mLI had no symptoms of a UTI other than the color of my Urine turned to an Amber color. I forced fluids for a few weeks and when there was no change, went to my PCP for a Urinalysis. I had experienced left lower back pain that flanked and very painful. I thought I may be trying to pas a Kidney Stone. My regular Urinalysis was 90% Flagged so my Urine was sent to a Microbiologist. That was also nearly all Flagged.
A couple of weeks later I developed a urinary tract infection. Urologist prescribed nitrofurantoin for the infection. Immediatedly after starting the antibiotic my ears gradually starting feeling clogged. Now, two weeks later, they are both very clogged (no wax buildup) and I can barely hear. Logic tells me the ear clogging is somehow connected to the nitrofurantoin. Has anyone ever experienced this or heard of this happening? Will this clogging go away by itself?
The doctor said the results came back negative and there was a lot of water in my urine. She asked if i could be pregnant, she then ran a pregnancy test the first one came back positive and the second came back negative. She started me on Macrobid and told me to take another test. When reading the leaflet for the home pregnancy test it says antibiotics can effect the resulst so should i take the test or wait till the antibiotics are done.

I know this was a long time ago, but I feel like I'm experiencing the neurological side effects of nitrofurantoin. It's not just a tingling in my hands, my muscles spasm and tremor in the night time. I am jolted awake sometimes. There's a fuzziness in my head that comes and goes and makes me feel like I'm going to convulse. I'm terrified that this is irreversible.
HI, the question is--what is your diagnosis? Are your symptoms coming from a true bacterial infection, or is there something else like Interstitial Cystitis causing your symptoms? You note that you have "high white blood cells in the urine" and blood> You need a urine culture off antibiotics to determine if there is a true infection.
