nitrofurantoin and yeast infection

Not only am I having very watery diarrhea, but I’ve been nauseaous and somewhat dizzy and, best of all, I think I’ve developed a yeast infection. And a bad one at that. It itches, burns, and has a strong odor. (Which I know is apparently not common for yeast infections, but idk if this medication could have caused BV or not so...? And my endless late night googling has found that sometimes a yeast infection can smell? I don’t know, man...) So anyway...

I would ask the doctor and/or pharmacist if the tingling will go away after she gets off the Nitrofurantoin and if so then if she can tolerate it and it is working well then you can either up to dose of neurontin or try to tolerate it until the antibiotic is finished. If not then switch. I would not go off anything until talking to the doctor. Depending on the dose of Gabapin, she may have to taper off of it as you cannot go off of it immediately. You will get rebound insomina.

I visit the doctor again and she gave me Nitrofurantoin antibiotics and after taking them once, instantly my erections returned and tests returned to normal size -I am taking 100mg twice in a day . The next day I woke up and my erections were gone again and testes shrunk, I took Nitrofurantoin and nothing is happening . I’m so scared I have phoned 111 and told them this and they told me to Go to my doctor again - the doctor said she gave me antibiotics already and refused to see me !

So they put me on amoxicillin, which cleared up the infection, however, I ended up getting a yeast infection because of amoxicillin killing too much bacteria. Overall it was a terrible experience and I should've tried curing it naturally.

A couple of weeks later I developed a urinary tract infection. Urologist prescribed nitrofurantoin for the infection. Immediatedly after starting the antibiotic my ears gradually starting feeling clogged. Now, two weeks later, they are both very clogged (no wax buildup) and I can barely hear. Logic tells me the ear clogging is somehow connected to the nitrofurantoin. Has anyone ever experienced this or heard of this happening? Will this clogging go away by itself?

Her dr examined her and didnt think it was yeast infection. We did urine test and it showed enterococcus bacteria. We’ve since been on 1 round of nitrofurantoin and 2 rounds of cipro (first a 7 day and then a 10 day). She’s had no other symptoms but itching. We go back for urine test in am and I’m sure she still has the bacteria as she is itching. All the tests showed either a small amount or moderate amount of blood but all tests were negative for nitrates and leukocytes.

Whilst on any antibiotic, a yeast infection may form vaginally or orally. If one develops orally you will need to have your MD prescribe a swish and swallow solution to treat that. Also, be prepared to use another form of birth control while on an antibiotic, as they lower the effectiveness of them...or be celibate for up to one week after your treatment has ended. Good Luck!

I also took it during my pregnancy and I'm 15 weeks now. It does say on the pamphlet you're not supposed to take it in your first trimester.

I felt like the last couple of days that I might have a yeast infection and was waiting for my appointment to tell my dr. No spotting in panties or anything, no clots of red blood- and again..TIM - sorry my vagina feels like I have had rough sex for 10 hours - and I am on pelvic rest so we know that did not happen ... even though I wish!

But and the doctor, prescribed ciprobid, doxyl and nitrofurantoin for me and my wife. I have visited the doctor 3times and the last tested I did. He told I had almost nothing in terms of UTI and in my partner there was an indication that she had UTI, and we were both put on medication, but after the medication, I still feel the pain. We have not been meeting with my partner.

I had TURP surgery 5 months ago and contracted an infection from the catheters (3). I've been on antibiotics for months and little improvement. I've also got a case of epididymitis (nuts on fire). Looking for some advice, have had a kidney infection on and off for the last two months, i have been on four weeks of different antib's and have had renal ultra sound. Ultra sound came back clear. Was back at doc today with the same symptoms, no blood was found in urine sample, just acidic levels were not normal also protein found. I was prescribed antib's but only to take if things get worse, ie temp continues and back pain.

Hello Doctors: Here is the background information: I have suffered from recurrent uti's for about two years. I am female, 30 years old. Primary symptom will be a burning when I urinate and back pain. I have been tested many times at the doctor, I think at least 5 times for trichomonias- mostly with the doctor looking under the microscope and once about 3 weeks ago with a DNA test. Also have been tested for gonherrea and chlymadia many times both with the urine test and pelvic swab.

I had my last pill with dinner yesterday. But the infection is still causing a small amout of pain during urination. And I am still experiencing pains in my abdomen. Is this normal? Normally when I take medication, I feel better before I'm even done the pills. This infection came on suddenly, and got worse by the hour until I took the second pill. My urine is still quite dark, but I know this is a side effect of the medication. I am just scared this UTI will comeback with avengence.

Turns out I had a UTI and she prescribed me with nitrofurantoin (2 a day for 7 days) and a diflucan pill in case I got a yeast infection from the antibiotics. While she was doing my pap she said that everything looked fine. I did a urine and blood test as well. She got the urine sample results back while I was there and told me the one of my kidney levels were reading as if I were diabetic and told me to make sure I ate everyday even if I ate in small portions.

I am allergic to PCN and Cipro and have been given Nitrofurantoin for 7 days. I am very afraid to take it. Does anyone have any experiences with it or can recommend other meds to take? Thank you for any suggestions!

s safe to take for a yeast infection/other infections throughout your pregnancy. I had a yeast infection a couple times while pregnant, and I took the cream from the pharmacy that was prescribed. It's best, IMO, to get it properly diagnosed as it could be a different vaginal infection (unless you're positive it's yeast) and get it treated. At the very least, your doctor can advise you on what brand/type to take OTC.

I woke up on thursday morning with a sore throat and a cough, on Friday morning i noticed a rash on my face and it is still there. Has any one had a reaction like this?
