Common Questions and Answers about Niacin yeast infection

niaspan

Avatar m tn I have been on statins for quite a few years, with problems. First was Lipitor, it did great for my cholesterol, but I started getting skin whelps on my arms. I quit taking it, and within 2 weeks they were gone, despite an allergist not finding it. I tried Vytorin, had muscle and joint pain. But in the past few years, taking simvistatin and a few others, it has been a mood/anger issue. My wife complains, telling me I'm pain to live with, I argue all the time, go off at the slightest thing.
Avatar m tn Is that unusual to have high triglycerides? How can I reduce them naturally? Niacin, Omega-3s, soy, iodine to improve thyroid function?????
Avatar m tn One way to lower your cholesterol, an raise the good cholesterol is to take Red Yeast Rice, and Slo- Niacin. I had stopped taking the Lipitor, 80mg a day, and did not tell my doctor. My lab results came back better than ever, my HDL had never been above 40 and it was 46. I had tried everything prior to this and this is what works for me, so if you are interested, I get them both at Walgreens and Usually you can find the Red Yeast Rice on sale.
Avatar m tn But recently, I developed what seemed to be a yeast infection, I was prescribed Diflucan and most symptoms to seem to subside (i originally had some cracked skin in between the lips like slightly above the clitoris). However, the day after I looked at my butt and the cracked skin/rawness came back. I'm just wondering if this could be related to herpes. There has never been anything remotely close to a lesion, bump, or blister.
Avatar m tn From what I have read, as far as niacin goes, only high-dose niacin (such as prescription Niaspan) will have an effect on HDL and you must be monitored with blood tests to make sure there is no ensuing liver damage. Good luck... I have the HDL same problem.
Avatar m tn ve been on and am considering going back on are Bergamot BPF, Red Yeast Rice, Niacin, Berberine, Resveratrol, CoQ10, Omega 3 Fish Oil, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Magnesium, Potasssium, Vitamin K2 MK7, Vitamin K2 MK4, Vitamin K1, Selenium and Zinc.
Avatar m tn t have enough self control to lose any weight. I had muscle pain and memory loss with statins, flushing and finally facial swelling with niacin supplements. The memory loss was so bad, I sold my veterinary practice and retired BEFORE the lawsuit. I ran for exercise until I wore out my left knee, now I walk. Again, these labs are before any medication.
Avatar f tn I am now 36 weeks and have my 3rd yeast infection and have had one uti since I hit my 3rd trimester. I am so tired of getting infections. It just want to cry about it but I know it won't change anything.
Avatar f tn I'm 25 weeks pregnant. I've had a couple bacterial infections and recently I've noticed some little white bumps in the vaginal area. I was wondering if this could be from the bacterial infection? Or if it could be from a yeast infection? I have an appointment tomorrow but it's really worrying me and I was just looking for some answers.
718651 tn?1237042917 I was thinking today of if taking niacin would make the opiate come out of your system faster... i've heard of people taking higher doses to get drugs out of their system to pass a UA.. has anyone tried this?? or do you think it will work??
475570 tn?1280941363 I just want to add that this was a study of Niaspan - the time release version of Niacin - and not Niacin.
Avatar f tn Hi there. Well, could be a yeast infection/overgrowth, yes. If you have never been diagnosed for a yeast infection, I would go the first time to your doctor to confirm. They'll help you treat it then and give you ideas why it is happening related to your period. So, yes, I'd see your doctor at this point.
Avatar f tn If any infection is left untreated that is when you can have issues.
Avatar f tn I got a yeast infection after taking the antibiotics I was prescribed so make sure if you get symptoms of a yeast infection you call your doctor
Avatar f tn Let your OB know because many times its hard to tell the difference between bacterial vaginosis and a yeast infection.
Avatar n tn ) If you want to bring it down more, well, you can try Red Yeast Rice, I take it and it works, it is a natural Statin, and it works like one without the side effects. Also, Niacin has been known to help as well. Try the Hexanicotanate type. I know it is spelled wrong, but a health store employee will know what you mean.
Avatar f tn Have you tried an over the counter vaginal yeast treatment? Some yeast are resistant to these as they all have fluconazole in them. The yeast are getting used to the anti-fungals that have azole at the end of their name. But it can also be Bacterial vaginosis (BV). You should get tested to find out if it is a yeast and if it is resistant and also have the laboratory check for bacterial vaginosis. Could you have a STD? If you would need to get tested for those.
Avatar f tn See a doctor it could be a STD the symptoms from a yeast infection are the same as some STD I thought.

Avatar f tn Hi After a female touched her vagina then touched my penis and have me a hand job I had a bit of redness and dry cracked lines on the tip of my penis. I went to the doctor and they said it seems like I have a yeast infection so they gave me canistan cream and I've been using this for weeks now and the symptoms are not going away. Does anyone know why? Is it true that some yeast infections may need antibiotics if the cream are not working? Would be grateful if someone could help me. Thanks!
