neurontin vision

I have had problems with my eyesight as well including vertical double vision and vision deterioration with some blurring and double vision. I am currently undergoing a weaning from Neurontin and Tegretol and I am still having trouble with my eyesight. I guess I am of no real help as they have not come up with any other reason for the vertical double vision although it occured while I was having other symptoms at the same time and they don't feel that it is a relapse of MS.

My doctor is starting me on Neurontin. Has anyone had any luck with it or had any side effects?

I was on other meds, Celebrex, Skelaxin and am off of all except Neurontin. I have tapered the Neurontin to 500mg/day. This question is related to side effects that may be due to Neurontin or maybe my migraines. When I was on a higher dose of Neurontin I was getting almost daily visual disturbances in both eyes that looked like what my migraine auras look like but those are in one eye and are followed by a headache.

You weren't taking it very long but I would still ask your doctor about both medicines you've taken lately. About the tramadol, which I know nothing about, I would imagine you could very well still feeling wd symptoms. I've tried to quit taking Neurontin but I keep getting dragged into taking it for a little longer.

I have the most horrible pain in my neck, but also weakness in legs and general clumsiness. Blurry vision off and on. What other conditions can mimic this. I am trying to get off neurontin, as I am taking 2400mg a day, and it seems to make no difference, but I almost thought I had a petit mal seizure. Thanks. Well, I was on 300mg of Neurontin for 4 years and never had the problem until I went up to 900mg. I was taking that for 6 months and the visual abnormality never went away. I also suspect in rare cases Celebrex could be the culprit. But I went off of that for 3 weeks and I still got the disturbance while still on high dose Neurontin. So, I figure it is more likely the Neurontin. I just hope it didn't effect my vision long term.

He prescribed me 20 mg of prozac with 100mg of Neurontin in the morning, 100mg of Neurontin in the afternoon, and 300 mg of Neurontin at bedtime. According to this Neurologist, stress and depression initially may affect the eyes and ears as these are very sensitive nerves in the body. The neurontin was to help relax these nerves and the prozac for depression. He was RIGHT!!!! And I feel back to myself.

For those of you who take Gabapentin (Neurontin): Just curious what side effects you have experienced (and at what dosage), and how long they lasted? I just started this last weekend, 300mg once a day at bedtime. I am having a really hard time waking up in the morning and for the first half of the day I feel a little "loopy" or my head feels "swimmy"....if that makes any sense.....

Previously I was taking lyrica. Lyrica seemed to affect my vision so I switched to Neurontin. I feel like I am in a blur everyday and all the events meld together, also when I work or go to school I feel like I am working through a fog. I am wondering if people take this kind of medication for years? And I have noticed that his medication has messed with my memory, what will that be like in the future? I am worried that it will affect me too much and really mess up my head in the future.

I've been on 1800 mg neurontin for 4-5yrs now...but its no longer working as it once did..and I have been using 2100mg (on my own) for a few weeks now but think I need even higher dose...so will mention to my doctor when I get rx refilled. I have had visual disturbances after going up to 900mg of Neurontin.I was on 300mg Neurontin for 4 years and then the 900 mg for 6 months. It is like an aura or wavy moving lines that last about a half hour and are in each eye. Has anyone had this from Neurontin (or Celebrex). I am tapering off of Neurontin for that reason and would like your opinion as to how to get off of it will less side effects. I am at 500mg now per day.

I had no pain but the side effects were terrible, including the two broken toes. My GP put me on Neurontin and I am up to 600mg as of last Friday. One 300mg in the morning and one of the same at bedtime. I still have pain but not quite as bad but u know it's still there. I have some side effects from it, too, especially legs and ankles swelling daily.

I have tried multiple meds such as antidepressants and Gabapentin... always have had multiple side effects. Things like heart palpitation's, anziety and vision troubles. I can take xanax and Soma with no problems. My question is "could it be the Armour Thyroid that I take that causes the trouble?" I also have a movement disorder labeled as tremors/non-epileptic seizures which also gets worse with antidepressants.
