600857 tn?1230057770 PS- I would more associate the absence of Valium causing your discpmfort rather than the Neurontin but like Sandee said, Everyone reacts in a different way.
Avatar m tn I am now prescribed .5mg xanax 2times a day 20 mg of valium at bed time along with lexapro and trazadone (if needed). I am also prescribed 100mg neurontin 3 times per day in between the xanax to help with withdrawal symptoms. Is this a safe cocktail and is it hard to get off neurontin?
1602878 tn?1304336016 The only thing that helps with nerve pain is nerve meds like Gabitril, Valium, Xanax, ect. Even they are not 100% effective but they do give some relief. They also help with the spasms. Talk with your dr about which one would be best for you. Neurontin is also a nerve med but I didn't put it up as helpful because it caused me to be suicidal. Not everyone has that reaction though.
Avatar n tn You could ask your doc for Requip...it is used for restless leg syndrome. There are a few other meds that could possibly help...one of them being Neurontin. Talk to your doc about it....Other than that, I used a heating pad that wrapped around my legs for that wanting to move constantly feeling...it helped some...not alot, but some. Valium will not help for this.
Avatar m tn You should be OK on those things but I would not start at the full doses of L-Tyrosine. Build up 500mg at a time and see how you do. You shouldn't need the valium with the Flexeril. Neurontin sometimes has helped with w/ds so that should actually benefit you.
1472677 tn?1330175915 I detoxed off of Trazadone already and I think next will be Vicoden and I am scared for I am also taking altram, neurontin, and valium for pain and other ailments. If these can make my stomache hurt like this I want to get off them. I know I am going to need help for I have been taking Altram and nurontin for over 20 years now, vicoden 2 years and valium 3. Do I need help or can I di this on my own. Thank you and God Bless you all........
Avatar f tn s prison, neurontin was used often to treat anxity in patients who were very prone to abuse benzos like valium. That would be great if neurontin helped with opiate withdrawal because it has a very low risk of diversion-- in fact I don't know if I have ever heard of a person abusing it. Are there any readers who used neurontin for opiate withdrawal? If so, please share your experiences with us.
Avatar f tn My doctor gave me Neurontin for my extreme restlessness from withdrawals. I find it to be really helpful. Most of my withdrawals symptoms are shaking, RLS, and the feeling of needing to get out of my skin. The neurontin has stopped that and has even let me sleep. I was wondering if anyone knows more about this medication. I did some reading on it but someone told me that it can cause changes in personality. I asked to pharmacist and he told me that it might cause some mood changes.
Avatar n tn Hi. I am bipolar and currently taking Lithium, Neurontin, Seroquel & Lamictal. I have only been on the Lamictal for about 7 weeks, starting @ 25mg & every 2 weeks adding another 25mg; thus I am currently @ 100mg per day.
Avatar m tn I was prescribed Neurontin for what they are thinking are overactive nerves. I had an injury 2 years ago and am still in pain and they think it's from the nerves not having settled or still being irritated. The doc said this was the safest med he prescribes. I don't like medicine.
Avatar f tn Thanks for sharing your experiences. I have to admit that your story about having to withdraw from your meds cold turkey brought tears to me. I can't imagine what you went through and am glad you came out ok. I was under the impression that Neurontin, Gabitril and Lyrica are all basically the same medicine, so it's good to know that while one may not work, another might. if you don't mind my asking, what do you mean when you said Neurontin made you crazy?
Avatar f tn I don't know but I am interested in this. I've taken Ativan but not Xanax and did not get any benefit from it (for the anxiety really either.) I have the burning nerve pain in my hand, wrist and arm. I take Neurontin but I don't know that it does much. The narcotics don't work all that great for me either (though I am getting a little relief this past week.
Avatar m tn Myself, like many others here found a time when my consumption was much, much, higher. I have tapered down to 3-4 per day and currently am detoxing at home with the help of Valium, Xanax, and non narcotic pain relief. My question is this is the first time I have attempted detox since the taper, prior attempts while my consumption was high lasted no longer than 3 days before I went back to the pills.
233622 tn?1279334905 Hi there, I'm not on Vicoden but on Neurontin... isn't the Neurontin working? What dose are you taking of that? I guess it doesn't take care of all the pain, I should know that too. But then I'm only taking 1200mg a day of Neurontin and my leg pains are bad in the evening and through the day at times too. I would ask you Dr for other types of meds if you are in so much pain... hang in there and let us know how things go...
Avatar f tn have you tried neurontin? sometimes baclofen and neurontin together do the trick, at least they work for me!
Avatar f tn Prickling sensation all over the body - HELP! I get these prickling sensation all over the body ( even in my private parts ) .They are not painful , just strange. They come and go ( started about 5 years ago ) then stop for some time and come back. I also experience small "electric like current " again not painful. Sometimes it' s small "popping " you can't see it on my skin i just feel it internally.
684676 tn?1503186663 I started taking gabapentin 6 months ago. I hate taking it. To me it's a nasty drug, but I still take it, for now. Have pain issues and it helps. It's pretty much divided on whether it's addictive or not. The textbooks say yes, but most people I have heard from didn't have a problem stopping it. it helped me with Valium withdrawal. Was originally Rx'd 900mg, but never took that much. Now taking 200mg at night only for sleep.
Avatar f tn Psychiatric meds makes them worse, especially SSRIs. I tried Neurontin and had success until week 2 when my jerks got stronger so I quit. I feel so left out with this and afraid to get worse. I had one period of a few months when they went away but came back. Other symptoms: Agonizing restlessness, sometimes tremor, stiffness in arms, internal vibrations in left leg that comes and goes (sometimes non existent for a few months), fatique, severe brain fog and so on.
600857 tn?1230057770 I have been prescribed many meds, Baclofen, Percocet, Valium, Ibuprofen and now Nuerontin. I am scared of the Nuerontin, I have heard many bad things about it. My Dr says its fine. I have depression and anxiety issues and am afraid this drug will aggrivate problems. anyone have any experience with this? Please let me know. Thank you.
Avatar n tn Hi, I have been on Percocet 10/325 along with Neurontin, Flexeril, Valium for about a decade. I was switched to 75 MCG Fentanyl patch 2 weeks ago. Valium was stopped 3 weeks ago. The 1st week I could not sleep at all. Drowsy, though. Shaky, cold. My doctor said it was withdrawal. Now at week 2, I sleep about 2 hours, very shaky, freezing cold, (I never get cold) Absolutely miserable BUT have great pain relief. Must stay in bed.
Avatar f tn I am on Nucynta ER 200mg, Nucynta, Valium for the headaches that everyday melodic am and methocarbamol. I had need surgery in April of 2011. I had a discectomy surgery at C4-C6 levels with infusion, but still have the neck pain can this be from my recent report. I need answers.
5597890 tn?1370629516 ve had 2 very severe heart attacks back to back. C.O.P.D . Peripheral Neuropathy. Also, would Neurontin help withdrawal?
Avatar f tn I have been to urgent care and returned to the dentist. She performed an xray and said the tooth is fine. I was first given Valium and Aleve for relief. The relief from this treatment last about 1 hour and the severe pain returned. I was then put on flexoril which takes the "edge" off for a couple of hours. I have switched to ibuprofen which has provided more relief than the Aleve. The dentist says that I have muscle spasms in my jaw and this should go away.
Avatar n tn But if you still have anxiety maybe you should switch to klonopin, that what I did. 1200mg neurontin 1mg klonopin 20 mg lexapro, every morning and 600mg neurontin and 1mg klonopin in the eve. Neurontin has shown to be a mood stabilizer and good for anxiety. It helps...
