Neupogen half life

Common Questions and Answers about Neupogen half life

neupogen

Avatar f tn My experience is neupogen does not lower platelets, the treatment does that. I looked over my labs and my platelet count dropped during tx and stayed within the same range for the few weeks while I was on neupogen as the for the weeks when I was not. The first time I did tx, I was on neupogen. A couple months after ending treatment I fell while getting into bed and broke my shoulder. I've had lots of worse falls in my life and never broke anything.
Avatar m tn Bill, I just finished 48 weeks (w/Victrelis) and during most of that I was taking Neupogen. The jury is still out on the benefits of this drug when it is used to prevent infection from interferon induced neutropenia. That said, my rational for tolerating this unpleasant drug was to avoid dose reducing and increasing my odds of an SVR. My GI's goal was not risking infection in a cirrhotic patient.
Avatar f tn The half-life of a drug is how long it takes for half of it to be eliminated from the bloodstream. Hope that helps.
6298176 tn?1380134459 It has a very long half life, though I can't give you specifics. The dose and how long you were on it does factor in. Your doctor should be able to help you with your questions on this.
Avatar n tn d like to repeat that by lowering my dosage of neupogen by half, the side effects were diminished. This could help with your headaches. I'm fortunate to have a flexible, experienced hepatologist who is willing to bend the rules to keep his patients on tx. The only other advice I have is medicinal cannabis works well for many to relieve both nausea and headaches, as well as muscle pain.
Avatar f tn The Hematologist said he was going to start him on Neupogen is anyone else taking this and is it working for them. He also said that he may need a transfusion , which is freaking my husband out because that is how we suspect he contracted the Hep c orignally (back in the 80s). I told him that they screen the blood much differently now then they did back then , but he is still freaking out. Anyone who is taling Neupogen please let me know if it is helping.
1501377 tn?1291508678 Have been trying to cost what a ceiling amount might be for a 12 week period to see if I can organise sufficient funds. Neupogen in prepared syringes are sold in packs of 10 - $1504 for 3000mcg/.5ml shots and $2407 for 480mcg/.5ml shots. I realise that amount required is case dependant but wouldnt mind any info which might assist me to at least get some idea of the range which may generally apply.

535882 tn?1396576685 whats the half life for syntriod. about how much time does it take to build up in you and also leave your system?
547836 tn?1302832832 Just started on Neupogen last week on Thursday morning on 3rd wk of tx with Pegasys and Ribavirin. PA ordered me to do labs for CBC every week on Tuesdays so she can review my results on Wednesdays and tell me if i need Neupogen week by week. Well, got lab done this Tuesday and called in after 24hrs on Wednesday to clinic to ask the PA to call me back. Never did. The clinic closes and so I left a message to page the doctor who promised to have a staff call me about it today (Thursday).
Avatar f tn I am not on chemotherapy but I have to take Neupogen 2x/week at 480mcg a shot. The bone pain I have is horrible, the weirdest pain I have ever had before. My bone marrow gets so swollen that I can actually feel my heart beat in my femur, pelvis and ribs. That happens if I get up too fast, or bend over. On top of that I have the "bone aches and sharp zings" of pain for a day and a half after a shot. The first night I woke up shaking, because of the pain my body was experiencing.
4113881 tn?1415850276 m small and the full dose of neupogen was too strong for me. My hepatologist agreed to allow me to take a half dose, which worked as well for me with less side effects. BTW: I did land up lowering my interferon dosage at week 12 and stopped taking neupogen altogether.
1742929 tn?1311164933 On wk 14 of triple therapy & und at wk 4 & wk8, but last week has been miserable. Am on neupogen 1X per wk & red cells at 9.4, had riba cut from 1000 to 600 at wk 7. Doctor will not increase riba till I am at least at 10(red blood ct.). Feel like I am going to war with half the amount of solders but can't fathom "quality of life" if riba is increased. Will do what I must, cause this is my last attempt at treatment...4th treatment, always a non-responder..
Avatar f tn 5) The use is of neupogen for hepC patients is somewhat controversial and may be unnecessary. There was a thread on this yesterday. I suggest you read it.
1118724 tn?1357010591 You are throughly marinated in RBV by this point which has a long half-life (note the recommended wait for pregnancy after tx is 6 months) and the two day delay in your shot is not likely to be significant (in measuring the impact of adherence on SVR the usual threshold is 80/80). Likewise your platelets at 43 are not reason for discontinuation (cando, now beaming from SVR- land, commented on this in your last thread).
Avatar f tn I have been looking around and noticed similarities between the effects I am feeling and others. Especially those who took Neupogen. I took Neupogen 3 times a week for approx the last 4 months of a 6 month treatment cycle. My levels "fell off a cliff" as my doctor said, and it was either take Neupogen along with Pegasys and Ribavirin or stop treatment all together. I have been clear of the virus since 11/08, but have had a slew of issues that are hindering my life.
