They will be able to do nerve conduction tests to find any nerve that might be under pressure from something that cant be seen on an x-ray.The extreme cold makes the nerve pain worse in my neck,head and shoulder all the way down to my fingers.The feeling is like being pricked by a thousand needles and feels like I am standing by a bon fire,with cramping and muscle spasms,numbness.If this sounds like anything that you might be going through,you ought to go see your family doctor like I said.
Burning pain tends to be caused by neuropathic pain. It's very common with Fibromyalgia and also with spinal issues. What types of medication are you currently taking for your pain?
besides that i did physical therapy for 8 weeks after surgery, i still do the exercises every day when i first get up, i use ice for 20 minutes and heat for 30 minutes on neck, back, and right shoulder. This pain when it comes on last all day, and usually i get 3 to 6 hours of sleep a night even with all the pills i take.
It starts and goes through my collar bone area and up the side of my neck. It happens 50+ times a day, and is really interfering with my life. I can find no trigger for it, or anyway to get it to stop. Although each instance only last maybe a few seconds, it feels like forever, and happens often.
I dont know if the back and shoulder pain are related, but because both are on my left side, I thought they might be. Has anyone experienced these symptoms, or know of anything they might be?
t have the constant pain like I did, but if I try to stretch my arm or move it a certain way, I get a burning feeling the runs from my right shoulder all the way down my arm to my hand, the burning pain usually goes away after a couple min. I can still use my arm, but I don't have the same range of motion, I can't lie with my arm under my head, and even trying to shave my legs is a chore. Anyone have any idea what might be wrong. Would an exray show if something is wrong with the muscle?
Back in May 2012 I had an odd bout of pain, it was as if someone had beaten my upper back, I had pain that seemed to wrap around to the front causing what I would consider tightening in chest or sternum area, it lasted for 3 days,I did not go to Doctor or hospital, its a long story of husband out of town and daughter busy with two babies at home. Did not want to bother anyone. I did think I was having a heart attack, as I do have high cholesterol.
I wonder if it was a mis-diagnosis or half-diagnosis, and it makes me question whether the nerve pinching issues is actually at the shoulder RATHER than the neck. Regardless, the issue is no longer in my neck and shoulder, but in my neck, shoulder, and back. It's difficult to even pinpoint the pain. It's like one big, sore clump spawning from mid-back to shoulder to neck.

I am having pain and burning in the upper right side of my back, below the shoulder but just above the mid section of my back with the same pain and burning shooting down the back side of my arm, it also pains me when I bend my head down for a while and turn from side to side it gets really stiff and painful, PLEASE HELP!!!

I have had problems with my neck and R. shoulder area mostly feeling tense and stiff. Pain does radiate into R shoulder as well. I had CDT Scan showed nothing.. Thank god! Had an MRI of neck which showed a very minor bulge about 2 mm which the dr said was not anything to worry about and more than likely would not be causing all the pain i am experiencing. I have a few knots in neck and shoulder blade area with the tingling down the inner part of arm and pointer and ring finger...
I have pain in my neck, right shoulder blade area and my right arm. The pain is different depending on what I am doing. When lowering my head to get in my car or just moving up and down, the pain is in my neck. Sitting in bed it is in my shoulder and arm and sometimes my arm will have a slight numbing sensation. Coughing and sneezing, there is shooting pains through all three. Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this?
Finally in January of 2010, I was lifting something heavy again at work and I felt burning and straining bad in my neck, arm, and shoulder. I had to work the next day. I did it one armed. Thank Goodness I'm right handed. The pain just got worse by the days after that incident. I couldn't wash my hair and I was beginning to get numbness in my left leg. I was so freaked. I finally went to an Ortho Surgeon 3 days later.
when I did it seemed most of the pain was concentrated in the shoulder. After a few days of rest and Motrin I still had limited range of motion at the shoulder area and continued buring, tingling feeling from shoulder blade down arm into hand at times. After PT for 7 weeks the shoulder strength seemed fine with no serious pain but slight discomfort.
m suffering from constant occipital neuralgia on the right side of my head, also my neck hurts/burns and sometimes i feel pain in my shoulder and shoulder blade. when the pain just started it lasted for about a month, than it went away for about a month as well and now it's back again. it's almost a month that it's present. also it's constant - i have it all day long and no medication help to take the pain away, the burning feeling is always present.
t do motions like washing my hair, wiping off counter, changing light bulb - without burning pain and need to stop.Within the past couple of months, using my arms or holding in upward position (reading book or newspaper) has also caused burning or pain into top of biceps and side of my arm that faces outward (not tricep). Otherwise pretty pain free (except for 2 months after doctor gave shot).
my symptoms is pain and tightness in around shoulder,neck and down the arm and also your back muscles around shoulder get tight and sore with sharp pains on use. you should also have difficulty lifting and extending arm and find doing so can cause it to flare up again with pain. sleeping is painful (lying on arm impossible) and nighttime it tends to ache more!
I get a hot burning sensation in my neck and shoulder and my face,neck,shoulder,turn red it last about 45 minutes. then I get a feeling like pins and needles in my shoulder and leg no pain and some time chills. I do not get dizzy or have any other problem talking or walking.
I would appreciate any help.

These issues cause the pain exactly as you described and more. This Dr. continues to treat me with pain and muscle spasm medications and cervical injections of the neck- 3 years later.
2nd: Neurosurgeon - who repaired the most serious of the 3 destroyed vertebrae and discs after another MRI and repeated X-Rays. (Repairing more than 3 vertebrae and discs is actually less successful.
I feel terrible. I feel achy all over with burning pain in my back and shoulder. I have problems sleeping because of the pain and recently began waking up with my heart racing. Also I have been feeling very aggitated (maybe from lack of sleep?)
I am tried of feeling this way and hate to take a lot of medicine...
