He started out on 25 mg with no side effects. Two weeks after he increased to 50 mg he began a headache - meaning it has not stopped. Here we are, going on week three of a headache. However, my son has been on other medications for sinisitis and bronchitis that could account for a headache. He now off of pulmicort, xopenex and nasonex. He is currently going through allergy testing as well. It is very difficult for me to try to determine the cause of the headache with so much going on with him.

Some get really ill, with all side effects mentioned, others get some side effects, or not so severe and others fly through treatment. You can never know how you will react, until you get there. I have not started treating, yet, but I am preparing myself for the worst. If it won't be as bad as I expect, I will be happy. If it will be as bad, I will at least be prepared for it.

Hello, I was just reading about an older dog having a problem with urinary incontinence and the treatment she was given, particularly the possible side effects. My White Bearded Collie (13 years old) started being incontinent last year and my vet has prescribed INCURIN 1mg daily. This has been mostly effective (just the odd occurrence when she was asleep or distressed). I was just concerned that it may have some serious side effects such as those mentioned for the other treatment (PPA).

He was on top of transplant list but all 3 livers that became available were unacceptable. Treatment side effects are nothing compared to end stage liver disease so I am very motivated to get through this for my son and myself. I was able to work FT and care for an aging parent in 2005. She passed away in January of this year. I will miss her support but unfortunately will have more free time.

Some of us don’t get particularly ill from the treatment meds, Amy. I treated for a few years, and most of my complaints were centered around fatigue; I could have slept for weeks at a time :o). How long is your treatment duration; 24, 48 or more weeks? What genotype HCV are you?

t even get to the end of the complaints on the internet about nose bleeds from nasonex! Well, my nose bleeds started with nasonex, the first time around was in the '90's, and no one seemed to know then that the nose bleeds were a side effect, although I kept having them and realized then that they occurred after using nasonex. Later, around 2007, I was told by a doctor, that it wouldn't be a bad idea to try it again, that it was actually a good drug.

What r the treatment my doctor said IV.but I C where there's pills so confused and really wish I knew what my numbers match.Thank you.

I am still in treatment, but I have read that many people deal with side effects for up to 6 months after they finish. It takes a while for all of that stuff to get out of your system, and then your body has to re-learn how to function without it. Be patient with yourself.

t drop enough - they decided since I was having such bad side effects it was time to stop the treatment. But, this doesn't mean you will react the same way. I would suggest that you try the treatment. Fortunately for me, I switched to a Hep doctor and he said my liver at this point my liver is working well on it's own and I have time to wait for the new treatments. sore throat,Vomiting,Painful menstrual cramps,Sinus infections,Viral infections,Coughing ,Nosebleeds,Joint pain,Bronchitis,Chest pain, ...etc ! to be honest with you anxiety and depression are not related , ask your doctor maybe you will take ,antidepressants again.

I mean some of them sound awful. Some good news? Will interferon ruin you physically and mentally for the rest of your life. I hear of some people who have done the treatment more than once on this site and have not complained that much and would be willing to tx again if need be.?????????????????????? thanks and Merry Christmas everyone!

So treatment was successful for myself and like i said, i had hardly ANY side effects. There were times i felt better on treatment than off. I know very strange, but each body is different and each person can handle different things. So don't get discurraged and think that treatment is NOT working just because your side effects are minimal. Be thankful and stay positive that you will reach SVR. The mind can do amazing things.

I am quite sure the treatment drugs exacerbated the existing pain. After treatment cessation things went back to what is my "normal".

I spoke to my family physician after doing some of my own reading and determined that the Nasonex which is a corticosteroid may be causing side effects of anxiety and low mood. I immediately went off the Nasonex and saw a quick improvement in the level of my anxiety, however have still not felt quite myself since. I found many reviews online of others having similar scary side effects after using ?Nasonex.

Guess I got my answer 9.9 hemoglobin. Add procrit to the list.

Most of my side effects are gone, but I still have a few. I feel great,even with the few side effects I have left. What I noticed was they lessened in intensity as the days went by. Then at some point I would realize a certain side effect was gone. Then another and another. They just keep disappearing, but not all at once, and it is gradual. At least that is what I found. I also found that it is a little uneven, just like they are while on treatment.

I am in week 4 of the Olysio/Sovaldi combo therapy and am disappointed at the side effects I'm experiencing. Prior to starting the treatment I was very encouraged by what I was finding on the boards, especially after two bad experiences with interferon treatment and an allergic reaction to ribavirin. Unfortunately I am experiencing maddening itching which I'm controlling with Allegra and extreme fatigue and an all around foggy feeling.

Before beginning treatment I had to sign a form listing all the potential side effects of treatment. It was lengthy and scary but at least I was informed. Sorry you are alone and frightened. When you are free from the meds, and your mind has cleared, perhaps you can use this time, to transform your fear into strength. This happened to me, when I nearly died from this virus. I went deep within, faced my fears and found my center, a loving place, from which I continue to draw strength.

Indeed, they may require years of treatment, but they work in most cases. They can also cause uncomfortable side effects and possible dangerous outcomes , such as anaphylaxis. Talk to your doctor about this for proper evaluation. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

do all of these crappy (literally) side effects EVER fade??? ive only been on the combined treatment for a month now....it just seems to b getting worse...the vomitting, crapping, fatigue,body aches, head aches, raw throat and mouth....i just hate to ask my docs for all kinds of meds....just wondering if it gets better closer to the one year marker????

and getting ready to start my second treatment tomorrow. Can anyone else on the treatment tell my of any side effect they have had from this, and did you have success in reducing your CA125.

sorry to hear your hubby is having a hard time. sounds like he is having some of the common side effects. There is nothing that can boost platlets but many docs let them go really low before lowering or stopping the meds. Try and get back on the full strength of interferon ASAP! Probably the most common side effect is the itching. I have it as well and it is horrible. I have found some relief with a prescription med called Atarax.
