Common Questions and Answers about Nasonex nasal spray side effects

nasonex

Avatar n tn He put me on Nasonex, a steroid nasal spray, to reduce the inflammation. I also hear my heartbeat in my ear at times, and he's hoping that a month on Nasonex will stop that. If not, he'll do a CT scan and other work to see what's going on. Here's my question: Are any of you using something like Nasonex or Flonase? I do have a headache behind my eyes and feel tired a lot, but I had that before too.
Avatar m tn Have you tried the nasal spray? I think it works wonders. The problem with benedryl, other than side effects for me, is that I would suffer too much during the day time. I suspect the dose to my body is relatively minor, but not sure.
Avatar n tn Nose specialist prescribed him with Nasonex 2x spray per day, Ceflour antibiotic, Anpro Loratadine, and Roximeth. But i worry about the STeroid effect to my son. . So i stop after taken 1 tablet of Roximeth after i found out this is steroid. Please advise any side effect if my son stop this Roximeth after 1 tablet ? (as doctor always advise me to finish it so i don't want to tell doctor) Nasonex also steroid spray right?
Avatar n tn Um. I've been prescribed *two* drugs by my doctor: Each a simple nasal spray once a day. The fact that I asked about the other drugs doesn't mean I was taking them--I simply wanted information. The interaction between the 2 inhalants was the core of my question. Thanks. That aside, the congestion is beginning to clear out, so this is moot.
Avatar f tn My daughter takes singulair every night and still has asthma and allergies flare ups. Veramyst nasal spray works best for me and nasonex is ok. I don't know which antihistamine medicine works best, I've tried them all too and they all have a side effect,.
Avatar f tn The usual treatment plan is antibiotics, inhaler (with steroids), nasal spray (like Nasonex). I have been continuing the inhaler and nasal spray between episodes as well. The sinus/chest x-rays have come back with nothing that the doctor was concerned about. I like my doctor, but I think it's time for another opinion or a specialist. I'm not even sure where to start. ENT? Pulmonologist? Asthma specialist? Thanks for your help.
Avatar f tn So could this be the side effects of Nasonex after a month later and I still need to wait a bit longer or is this something I should continue to look into? It's really affecting my life.
Avatar m tn would a nasal spray help with the clicking and head aches and feeling of a full head and ear??

29837 tn?1414534648 I've had sinus problems for years. Post nasal drip for one. I'm a professional singer and it's been tormenting me for years. Recently I went to an eye, ear, nose specialist who prescribed Nasonex. Anyone have any success with it? I say that because I tried it now for two days with no effect. Do I need to try it longer? Anyone?
Avatar f tn I think they should consider trying a nasal steroid spray and/or a nasal antihistamine spray. Some of these can be considered safe during pregnancy.
Avatar f tn I can however use just a steroid inhaler along with the Nasonex nose spray, it seemed to work very well for me. Should I try staying with this or try Singular. I thought I read up on Singular as causing liver issues. What do you think would be the safest way to go? Or the best? I love breathing better !!
548980 tn?1214822412 I spoke to my family physician after doing some of my own reading and determined that the Nasonex which is a corticosteroid may be causing side effects of anxiety and low mood. I immediately went off the Nasonex and saw a quick improvement in the level of my anxiety, however have still not felt quite myself since. I found many reviews online of others having similar scary side effects after using ?Nasonex.
Avatar f tn She does not have asthma now and is not on this anymore 3.She was on nasonex 50mcg/spray (steroid nasal spray) for a period for 7 months (but not continuous-she was on and off on it..say she used it only for 7 days in a month and for 3 weeks during pollen season ) FOr her allergy rhinities. We do not use these anymore. 4.Occasionally she has antihistamine like zyrtec. 5.She does not use any of the asthma and allergy medicated steroid spray anymore. 6.
Avatar f tn Have you tried going back to nasonex or asking your doc for a different nasal spray...there are many prescription nasal sprays out. Might could try zyrtec once daily especially during allergy season, as it is now over the counter. Some people find good results with nasal saline. It is inexpensive, shouldnt cause rebound. I would at least follow up with your doc for a recheck to make sure nothing else is going on. PS..elevate the head of your bed about 4 to 6 inches. May give some relief.
Avatar n tn However, you should not use decongestants for more than 5-7 days at a time. Symptoms can also be relieved by using a saline nasal spray or a nasal spray that contains corticosteroids. Corticosteroids work by helping to reduce inflammation and congestion. The golden rule for chronic stuffy nose is steam inhalation. Inhaling steam from a bowl of hot (but not boiling water) may help to soften, and loosen, the build up of mucus in your nose.
Avatar n tn I just started using Nasonex (steroid nasal spray), and it really helps my allergies and sinus headache, and eye-related sinus problems. But I also have PVCs and my heart pounds a lot (can feel it in my head, back, etc). I'm wondering whether Nasonex is safe to take long term if I have these heart issues. Doctor just shrugged his shoulders when I asked. Anyone know?
Avatar m tn I have bee taking Beconase hayfever spray (a steroid nasal spray) for a month and began feeling the sensation of skipped heartbeats which tend to increase around my monthly cycle. I experienced them a few years ago, also at the time of taking the Beconase spray. It took several months after discontinuing the spray before they eventually disappeared. I am having the same symptoms this time.
1206005 tn?1265824205 ive been diagnosed with having a retracted right ear. ive been given nasonex nasal spray ( steriod spray ) by the hospital and told to use it in both nostrils for four weeks and in the mean time im waiting to have a MRI scan. ive taken the nasal spray for nearly 2 weeks now and there is no change. im still getting pressure constantly and the constant pressure noises are driving me mad yet alone the ear pain .
Avatar f tn My doctor put me on a medication called SYNAREL Nasal Spray for the next six months. Just wondering if anyone else was on this nasal spray? Side effects? I've been on it for 2.5 weeks. I've had horrible headaches daily, extreme fatigue and muscle and joint pain. My doctor does not think this is related to the Synarel. Anyone with similar experience?
Avatar f tn I'm also having the same problem. I got covid 5 weeks ago and recovered within 8 days but the post nasal drip is still lingering with minor one sided stuffy nose on and off. The post nasal drip seems like it drips less at times and more other times so it is also on and off but doesn't seem to go away. When there is a lot I would cough and sometimes it would coat my throat or get stuck there and I have to clear my throat constantly or try to hack it up by coughing.
Avatar n tn sore throat,Vomiting,Painful menstrual cramps,Sinus infections,Viral infections,Coughing ,Nosebleeds,Joint pain,Bronchitis,Chest pain, ...etc ! to be honest with you anxiety and depression are not related , ask your doctor maybe you will take ,antidepressants again.
Avatar f tn when im taking the medicine my colds stop. but afterwards colds comes back. So, my doctor given me another nasal spray to be spray everyday for good and suggested an surgery for my polyp. aside from that also i can always swallow my thick mucus. can you help me what to do? is operation the best way to treat my sinusitis?
Avatar n tn thanks for the reply doctornee, i had an appointment with a ent specialist for a different symptom but i was prescribed a nasal spray for nasal polyps (this sensation seems to have started with the medication) i'll try out that valsalva maneuver!
Avatar n tn Although I never considered doing anything rash, there were definately some psychological side effects from the spray as well. I can see how someone experiencing these types of symptoms for more than a few days in a row could develop some suicidal thoughts...I'm not exagerating...the panic and anxiety were very intense. The experience scared me to death and after 3 miserable nights with no sleep I finally called my doctor.
