Hi, I use Nasacort, which is a steroid nasal spray, but I'm not always good at using it.

What kind of nasal spray? Is it a prescription like Nasacort or Flonase or the OTC stuff like Afrin? If it's Afrin that is not supposed to be used all the time, it's really bad. If your nose is bleeding, that could be an infection or maybe from the spray. I'm not sure about the blood pressure. I think you should try to wean off the Afrin. You are probably having what's called *rebound* congestion. Read the label on it. It tells you not to use for more than 3 days.

There are a lot of steroid nasal sprays that you might react better too. Nose bleeds are a common side effect so a different brand may help better. Others are ayamys, nasacort, or nasonex, plus many others. Nasal rinsing using a neti pot or neil med sinus rinse may also help flush out anything that is in your sinuses and there is a much lower risk of bleeding since there is no medication, it's just pure saline.

You can get it OTC in Nasacort nasal spray. Just spray you know where a few times in the evening (when it itched the most fir me). Five days later and everything is gone. Like a miracle.

Did your Dr. tell you that you can take 4 Way nose spray while pg? I will def ask about that and get some menthol cough drops. Never knew cough drops help with congestion. I am taking the pseuodophedrine only, my OB won't let me take the phenylephrine one.

My sinuses get plugged up a lot, and I am susceptible to postnasal drip. When I lie down in bed, my nose has a tendency to get plugged up and I have trouble breathing and thus must prop myself up to get air. Good post! I have been addicted to afrin nose spay off and on for over 10 years.I too have bad allergies. I can't not stand my nose stuffed up at all. My grandpa , dad, and brother all have been addicted to 4-way nose spray. They don't seem to plan on stopping. I am currently using the afrin nose spray again b/c I got sick and had a stuffed up nose. I also can't sleep with my nose just a little stuffed up.
