my husband just started on Namenda, starter doses, however, while I was at work today, he took 3 of the pills(5mg), should I be concerned? do I just have him continue tomorrow with the correct one pill in the morning? doesn''t seem to have any side effects.
Does anyone out there know of a good doctor for FM? I am so tired of the trying this and trying that. I am currently on Savella with the 2 week titration pack. I haven't noticed any difference as of yet, it's only been 3 days.
The best thing to do if you need to go off a medication is ask your psychiatrist for a specific titration schedule. I have done so following their directions but when I did it on my own (before my current recovery) or without their specific directions, things were very unsafe. Also ask yourself why you want to go off the medication. If its a matter of side effects you can ask your psychiatrist for other approved alternative mood stabilizers and anti-depressents.
If you miss three or more pills in the third week of the pack, do not finish the pack and throw it away. Start a new pack and use seven-day backup birth control.
As you can see from your current side effects, when you don't follow the directions in the pack, you have these kinds of side effects. It will stop eventually but all you can do in the meantime is just ride it out.

I went out of town for a couple of days and forgot to pack my birth control pills (YAZ). I missed two pills in week three. I followed the directions and continued to take active pills through the following Sunday and then started a new pack. I did not get my period however, the pill directions say this is to be expected. Can anybody explain what causes the missed period?
I am currently recovering from back surgery and am taking 2 Percocet 10mg every 8 hours per the directions. I ran out today and tomorrow is a holiday so I won't be able to get a script until Tuesday. I am not good at keeping track b/c the scripts are only for 15 days while most are for a month, but anyway. I have some 5mg vicodin - can I take those to get me through until I can fill the script for the Percocet? If so, how much should I take?
All of my bloodwork came back good, so he started treating me for Fibro with Savella. On day 4 of the titration pack (first day of taking a 25mg pill in the morning) I developed Serotonin Syndrome and was admitted to the ER - I was not taking any other meds so there wasn't any interaction to have caused it.
This left me with the assumption that either my serotonin levels are naturally pretty high, or that my reuptake is already more than adequate.
What could be causing me to have all of them. I am under pretty good control as I take neurontin and namenda. Before I was put on namenda i was having rhizotomies almost every three months due to the excruciating pain.
Anyways ladies when is a good time to pack my hospital bad and wash the babys clothes and what else do i need to do? And im a ftm and im 16 so honestly i have no idea what im going to need after baby im not breast feeding tho. Is there anything you ladies can tell me what ill need aftet babys born?
ve never gotten so angry or cursed so much trying to assemble something. The rock n play, pack n play, and swing almost did me in. You want it to be perfect for baby but holy crap the directions suck and I spilt water on the English section of one and had to go with Spanish directions pictures to assemble!
i take birth control and normally my periods are at the end of the month. but last birth control pack (end of september beginning of october) i had messed up my pills. (i know i didn't start my first ever pack on the correct schedule like the directions say, my doctor honestly didn't tell me there was a specific day i was supposed to start it on.) so i ended up getting my period on october 11th. the month of september i got it on the 27th.
I read your post to me about how you don't like block/replace therapy, and that you like MMI titration, what is that? HOw do you keep your patients from going hypo thyroid on only ATD's? and if they do go hypo, how do you help them if you don't use replacement? Also, does using ATD's burn out your thyroid? and does replacement burn out your thyroid? Do you consider 5mg of MMI to be a high dose of ATD?
I, like many of you, take handfuls of drugs just to live thru the day and suffer side effects from the drugs is just as debilitating as the pain. My doctor allowed me to try Namenda, which is a alzheimer drug that works by calming overactive neurons in the brain. There has been studies to see if it helped chronic pain and most of them showed it did not. I wanted to try it for myself and she allowed me too. My shrink also thought it was a good idea to try.
