my husband just started on Namenda, starter doses, however, while I was at work today, he took 3 of the pills(5mg), should I be concerned? do I just have him continue tomorrow with the correct one pill in the morning? doesn''t seem to have any side effects.

I read your post to me about how you don't like block/replace therapy, and that you like MMI titration, what is that? HOw do you keep your patients from going hypo thyroid on only ATD's? and if they do go hypo, how do you help them if you don't use replacement? Also, does using ATD's burn out your thyroid? and does replacement burn out your thyroid? Do you consider 5mg of MMI to be a high dose of ATD?
I, like many of you, take handfuls of drugs just to live thru the day and suffer side effects from the drugs is just as debilitating as the pain. My doctor allowed me to try Namenda, which is a alzheimer drug that works by calming overactive neurons in the brain. There has been studies to see if it helped chronic pain and most of them showed it did not. I wanted to try it for myself and she allowed me too. My shrink also thought it was a good idea to try.

I am a healthcare professional and can not afford to seek professional help as it may compromise my job. Please let me know if titration is an effective way to come down. My thoughts are to decrease my dose every three days as follows:
-Currently taking 4, 10 mg-325 acetaminophen at 5-6 pm and 4 more (same concentration) around bed time.
She did a mini neuro/cognitive eval and said this may be something more than MS. Now she has prescribed Namenda XR for me. I googled it and it says it's for Alzheimers. I do have family that have/had dementia/Alzheimers. Does anyone else with MS take this??? Or do you know anyone with MS that takes it? From what I read, it makes symptoms worse with people who have MS. Sad face...
My mom's medication regeime has had risperdal added to it. She is alteady on zoloff and the standards for alzeheimer's including namenda. Since putting her on the risperdal she sleeps all the time, has had a to be restarted on blodd pressure medication and seems to be losing her mtor skills.
I am very concened about these changes and wonder if the risperdal is the right dosage or medicine.
First of all his doctor changed and titrated his blood pressure medications and also they found Namenda to be quite helpful.
1) If GP agrees to titrate, how soon will the anxiety dissipate? In other words, I want to suggest that we try titration as an experiment for two weeks to see if the anxiety resolves. Is that enough time?
2) In the event GP won't titrate will anxiety eventually resolve? How long does that usually take. I've been back on meds for 4 weeks now.

why because it is longer lasting and can be cut down easier. Now for your decrease thod i suggest water titration. it takes you off im ml by turning the hard pill into a liquid form much easier to theen off in mg. But if you insis on cutting down in pill form here is my SUGGESTION please note that fact. you will have to cut the pill in such small doses to be accurate is gonna be impossible but maybe bearable please you tube water titration.
I did a fair amount of research prior to my titration and even went so far as to map out my titration schedule on a calendar. My main withdrawal concerns were anxiety, rapid heart beat and insomnia. After a few days of titration when I realized I was not having ANY withdrawal effects I basically stopped "cold turkey." About two weeks, after stopping, I experienced a weird cramping sensation in my hand. Based upon my rigorous physical activity, I assumed I was dehydrated.
