Namenda dose pack

Common Questions and Answers about Namenda dose pack

namenda

Avatar n tn No need to worry. I used to teach classes on different Alzheimer's Medical treatments/medicines and know these meds better than the reps that sold them. Namenda is an add on Alzheimer's medication use to help glutamate regulation in the brain. The standard dose in 20mg a day after titration, so taking three 5mg tablets is not a problem.
Avatar f tn com/namenda-side-effects-drug-center.htm What dose is she on? Maybe adjusting her dose will decrease the dizziness. Talk to her doctor.
20003388 tn?1515166040 I'm just curious if anyone has been on Namenda and could tell me how long the initial brain fog lasted for you? I just started Namenda yesterday, 5 mg a day for 1 week then 10 mg a day in divided doses. I have memory issues and severe cognitive impairment. I was put on Namenda by a neurologist after a thorough examination. I expect the brain fog from starting Namenda up but am just trying to get a time frame for when I could expect the initial brain fog to wear off. Thanks everyone.
Avatar f tn Medrol (methyprednisolone) is identical to Solumedrol, but is the oral form. When we get IV infusions we get 1000mg of it. Each pill in the dose pack is 4 mg. You take 6 tabs the first day, and then 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 the following days. (24mg, 20mg, 16mg, 12mg, 8mg, 4mg). Long ago they established that the lower dose dose not afford the relief in MS, likely because it is not enough to establish any meaningful levels within the brain and spinal cord.
Avatar n tn My mom's medication regeime has had risperdal added to it. She is alteady on zoloff and the standards for alzeheimer's including namenda. Since putting her on the risperdal she sleeps all the time, has had a to be restarted on blodd pressure medication and seems to be losing her mtor skills. I am very concened about these changes and wonder if the risperdal is the right dosage or medicine.
Avatar f tn My neighbors doctor prescribed fluoxetine and namenda before MRI being done.test came back no signs of alzheimers disease. Should she continue to take ? She is 80 years old somewhat forgetful nothing to make you say you can't function she is 80.
1172359 tn?1310667693 Today my doctor called Antivert and Medrol dose pack in for me because I have been so dizzy and lightheaded. I do not know how to describe it. The floor moves when I am not. It has been super hot here in Atlanta and I know the heat has a lot to do with it. Is this a good combo to help me? I am scared of the Medrol because I have an ulcer, I was told if I take it on a very full stomach I should be fine. Still worried.
Avatar n tn He is on Namenda and Plavix, is it possible that Adderall could help with his short term memory loss. Before the accident he lived on his own.
Avatar m tn I have a very difficult migraine to treat, so none of the usual daily meds worked for me, but Botox worked wonders. Also an off-label med called Namenda at 25% of the usual dose gave me significant relief. So don't give up. There are other treatments as well. But start out with the Amitriptlylene. Good luck. Migraines can be terrible.
Avatar n tn What could be causing me to have all of them. I am under pretty good control as I take neurontin and namenda. Before I was put on namenda i was having rhizotomies almost every three months due to the excruciating pain.
Avatar f tn I, like many of you, take handfuls of drugs just to live thru the day and suffer side effects from the drugs is just as debilitating as the pain. My doctor allowed me to try Namenda, which is a alzheimer drug that works by calming overactive neurons in the brain. There has been studies to see if it helped chronic pain and most of them showed it did not. I wanted to try it for myself and she allowed me too. My shrink also thought it was a good idea to try.
Avatar f tn ,the pain mx team stabilised me over 36 hours using methadone . I left hospital on a MUCH lower dose ( they call it morphine equivalent s over here) and for the next 4 months I actually lived a near normal life. I was working long shifts at work and was not troubled by many of the side effects of high dose narcotics. I am going back into hospital in 4 weeks for another ketamine boot camp!! Although I don't look forward to it I do look forward to the relief it offers.
767538 tn?1276575320 I've heard of low dose outpatient ketamine therapy..I know a women in my area..northern new jersey who has had it and it has seemed to help with her rsd pain..I am not sure. I asked my pain management dr about it and he said he wouldn't recommend it. There are alot of side effects to it. But then, there are alot of side efffects to all the medications those of us who suffer from chronic pain have to take. You'd have to do alot of research and ask alot of questions..
585414 tn?1288941302 Yes I am somewhat familiar with that. For example Namenda which is used to treat dementia is in clinical study as a mood stabilizer and to treat tardive dyskinesia. However as those medications specifically effect those receptors by mitigating their activity they work in an opposite manner to glycine and the NMDA receptor modulates.
Avatar f tn Hi, I took 500mg first day , then 250 next day, then the remainder 750mg the day after since reading about the one day dose...is it affective in eliminating chlamydia or other std? Please help.
Avatar m tn Have you tried off-label Namenda at 25% of the dose given to the typical patients that it is meant for? That drug has significantly helped my migraines. And what about Botox injections? That does not interact with your body systemically. Those have helped me tremendously. If you haven't tried these, I would consider them before taking Phenobarbital, but it's up to your judgment of course.
Avatar n tn Hi Margypops, Axona is a brand-new prescription therapy launched in March 2009 for the treatment of mild-moderate Alzheimer's disease. As Alzheimer's is marked by a decrease in glucose in the brain (the primary source of food for the brain), Axona acts by providing/metabolizing glucose in the body to act as an alternate source of food for the brain.
Avatar m tn I took my 600 mg as usual this morning but tonight I mistakenly took tomorrow mornings 600 mg dose with dinner (punched out wrong pill from blister pack and didn't look). I am not worried about doing the 1200mg in a day but just ****ed off that my routine is off after all this time. I have searched and found plenty about "missed" doses but nothing on switched doses. Any suggestions about getting back on track.?
Avatar n tn my grandfather wantws to put her on namenda,we tried it for a few weeks, but I saw3 her only become more hostile!! do you think a person at her age is really going to benefit from namenda at this stage?
Avatar f tn I see a lot of people asking about z pack curing chlamydia/gonorrhea and the common response is “It has to be 1g at once to work.” I’m confused by this. 1 g is 1,500mg. The typical z pack is 1,500mg total over the course of 5 days. 500mg on day one and then 250mg the next four days. So my question is, why would it HAVE to be 1,000mg of z pack at once to work rather than also 1,500 over 5 days?
Avatar n tn so my plan is to skip my inactive tablets in my pill pack and move onto the next pack immediately. however i missed a dose of my pill, is this still a feasible option??
Avatar f tn She did a mini neuro/cognitive eval and said this may be something more than MS. Now she has prescribed Namenda XR for me. I googled it and it says it's for Alzheimers. I do have family that have/had dementia/Alzheimers. Does anyone else with MS take this??? Or do you know anyone with MS that takes it? From what I read, it makes symptoms worse with people who have MS. Sad face...
Avatar m tn could possibly causing her problems or contributing to them, i would like to try taking her off all but the depakote and namenda and see if she has improvement. what do you think?
Avatar n tn First of all his doctor changed and titrated his blood pressure medications and also they found Namenda to be quite helpful.
1901977 tn?1333991726 I was trying to tough it out but my upper respiratory infection has moved down into my chest and with my asthma, the doctor is really worried about it turning into pneumonia and just put me on the "Z-Pack" (Azithromycin)antibiotics. I'm in my 12th week right now, and really worried about taking them. But the doctor says if my breathing goes bad or I get pneumonia that's much worse for the baby...so I just took my first dose tonight.
