I applied Mupirocin ointment externally and given antibiotic Amoxycillin for 5 days on advise of a general doctor, no improvement. Now I applying Mometasone furoate USP ointment and giving anti allergic tonic Avil since 7 days on advice of one dermatologist but till now no improvement found. Should he continue with the same medicines? What may be the cause of such symptom?
Avatar m tn Earlier this afternoon (july 7th), i ended up going to urgent care and the doctor said i had impetigo, and he wrote me up a prescription for antibiotic ointment (Mupirocin Ointment USP, 2%) and sent me on my way. I still have some questions though! 1.) i read that impetigo is highly contagious. How contagious is it? i always wash my hands after i apply the ointment, and I don't touch the area at all, except when im putting the ointment on. 2.

Avatar m tn He gaved me NYSTATIN and TRIAMCINOLONE ACETONIDE OINTMENT USP. It worked for a couple of days but then the ointment was gone , and i had no more refill. After only one day, the irritation started again. I went to the doctor again and he gaved me TRIAMCINOLONE ACETONIDE CREAM USP, 0.1%. After 1 week of using this, my hand looked a lot better, but I dont have cream anymore... and after 2 days the irritation has arrived again. I am really scared. What should i do?

Avatar m tn Since there is confusion as to what this is, I made a somewhat risky decision and applied Mupirocin ointment USP, 2% to the remaining ulcers on my scrotum that had not yet healed. After an overnight application and two applications today, there is a dramatic difference. The sores have stopped weeping and are almost completely healed.

Avatar f tn Well she had a surgery about 6 months ago and we received mupirocin ointment for it. I was curious to find out if the mupirocin ointment would have any affect on her sores? I know it's to fight infection and bacterial growth but I was hoping it would alleviate her pain and sooth her raw hot spot. Thanks in advance!
20124135 tn?1585964097 I will go back and use the ointment, MUPIROCIN, USP 2% tonight but it is hard to do that because with the weather still being cold my hands get so dry, irritated, red and chaffed. I need moisturizing cream but I'm supposed to use the ointment so putting both on I'm afraid that it is counterproductive. I hope I have not left anything out if so then once I have heard back from you and I really hope that you will reply to me again.
Avatar m tn Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

Avatar m tn I was prescribed Erythromycin Ophthalmic Ointment USP, 0.5% (sterile) to be applied to the eyes' eyelid margins every night at bedtime. 616582 tn?1225068601 Bactroban is actually mupirocin not an ointment of Bactrim. So it is a different antibiotic. If you were allergic to Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprin) I would think you would react to it all over your body if it is a pill form. A lot of people are allergic to the sulfa drug in the Bacterim. Did you have a pill or ointment? The ointment is called Bactroban (Mupirocin). So if you took the bactrim pill for your sinus infection you usually break out all over or at least on the chest.

Avatar n tn Doctor has prescribed Bacitracin Ophthalmic Ointment USP and Systane. He says it is a matter of dry eye. I live in Las Vegas. However, I have faithfully used the ointment for over a week, and I don't see an improvement. I replaced the Systane with another dry-eye drop because the Systane seemed to irritate my eye further. I'm reaching the point of sheer terror, and the appearance of my eye is effecting the work I do.
