bactroban

Avatar f tn Well she had a surgery about 6 months ago and we received mupirocin ointment for it. I was curious to find out if the mupirocin ointment would have any affect on her sores? I know it's to fight infection and bacterial growth but I was hoping it would alleviate her pain and sooth her raw hot spot. Thanks in advance!
Avatar f tn Bactrium and hydrocortisone should be enough to contain this allergy or infection. In allergy and infection, treial and error method is used. I have been also treated higher cortisone preparation. I get blisters in soles of my feet and mild itching in different regions of the body.I have dry skin also.So I am applying moisterizer twice a day on the whole body(wet). It may require a longer treatment. Difficult to predict. no spell-check done.
Avatar m tn I do, ever so often get a pinch in the hair follicle that is followed by a red spot as well. Is this a continued allergy or could this be a burrowing mite/bacteria? I do wash every morning with chlorohexadine wash. I am hesitant to go to a dermatologist again as they want to treat instead of finding the problem. I am in the medical field and sores pose a health risk for me. Any help would be great. I have recently found a similar spot in my chest hair area. I have no other medical problems.
Avatar n tn It sounds like some allergic reaction to something. It could be a number of things a food allergy,.bug bites, pets, detergents, chemicals, sprays, soap, household cleaning products. However some people bodies are sensitive to certain things and they don't even know until something happens. Anyway if it were scabies you would have caught them by now it sounds like a rash or a allergic reaction to something.
616582 tn?1225068601 Bactroban is actually mupirocin not an ointment of Bactrim. So it is a different antibiotic. If you were allergic to Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprin) I would think you would react to it all over your body if it is a pill form. A lot of people are allergic to the sulfa drug in the Bacterim. Did you have a pill or ointment? The ointment is called Bactroban (Mupirocin). So if you took the bactrim pill for your sinus infection you usually break out all over or at least on the chest.

Avatar f tn When they peeled off though it left an open would that soon was covered with a yellow crust that took forever to go away. This has been a cycle going on for months, I tried mupirocin and antibiotics because doctors though it was an infection or folliculitis. Recently I had a biopsy done which revealed its inflammatory and dermatitis not an infection but nobody can tell me what from?? Doctors think it might be from an allergy to a bra fabric/chemical/dye. Anyone have a similar experience?
Avatar f tn Accidentally, I sprayed mupirocin/Dextamethasone 5GM/45ML/0.1%, a compounded nasal preparation, in my eye. I rinsed the eye with water for about one minute. Eye has had 5 retina surgeries, has band kerapothy, and no lens. PCC told me it's ok because the mupirocin is also used for eye preparations. Correct?
Avatar m tn It was originally identified as staph and treated with Mupirocin and Clobetasol by my Dr. Unfortunately 2 weeks of use has done nothing. I haven't been able to see her again so I figured I'd post here. I have a feeling this could be fungal, but am not sure. As you can see in the pic, it is a red irritation and slightly raised. It has shown only minor response to both clobetasol and mupirocin. It has never itched.

Avatar m tn he looked at the area, and said it was healing fine and that the unhealthy bacteria had probably gotten in the area, and that I was having heat rashes in that area. He gave me some antibacterial soap to use and Mupirocin 2%. The Mupirocin would help, but whenever I get hot and it not on the area, it becomes irritated. It also started to make the area started feeling dry and kind of itchy.
Avatar m tn But, I thought I applied mupirocin onto my face because of a minor injury. So I am wondering if mupirocin could affect my test result and made it false-negative?
Avatar f tn Thanks for your response. Will I be able to get mupirocin over the counter? Since I don't have ins, can't go to the doctor. Thanks.

Avatar m tn I was prescribed Mupirocin for a non-healing nasal ulcer. I used it for about 2 days then woke up with a bad headache today from the get go. I've tried everything I can. I have taken Tylenol TWICE, Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen in it, nasal spray, a Breathe Right nasal strip (since I do have severe sinus problems.) NOTHING has worked or given any relief.

Avatar m tn route. Specifically I was prescribed Minocycline 100mg, 14 caps. And a topical Mupirocin 2%. My dermatologist was sckeptical of the antibiotic route and also prescribed Finacea, for a Rosacea condition. I am unpleased to anounce that neither the posting above solution neither both of the specific prescriptions helped me. The only response I got was from the oral antibiotic for the first week of the two and that reduced te redness by about 30%.
Avatar n tn Our dachshund/chihuaua has black sores on the bottom of her ears. We took her to the vet and she didn't know what it was. She gave her a shot of some kind and Mupirocin ointment but it didn't do anything. She also suggested that it could be her food so we changed her food and the lady at the pet store recommended Calm Coat (a natural topical spray) but it still isn't healing. How do we find out what it is without spending a lot of money we don't have?
