Avatar n tn Hello, Yes, your brain anatomy can be visualized on an MRI scan. A CAT scan can visualize skull fractures, tumors, etc., but an MRI shows your underlying vascular structures of the brain. I, too, have suffered with trigeminal neuralgia, which has been controlled with Neurontin and also steroid injection blocks in head and neck. I hope this has been of some help to you.....Take care.....
Avatar f tn I have my anatomy scan in 2 weeks when I'm 19 weeks, they told me that's when they can tell me the gender but what else are they looking for? They told me they'd be checking out my baby's brain which really worries me..
Avatar f tn What should I expect when I go in for my anatomy scan tomorrow? I will be 20w3d. I see a midwife so I have to go to the radiology dept to get it done and when I called to set it up they kept asking me questions about what my doc wanted them to look at and all I could say was she told me to call and set up my anatomy scan. Then the lady said well we'll just do dates then.
Avatar f tn I posted this question before but no one answered. How did you anatomy scan go? Wefe you nervous for it? I already found out at 16 weeks that I'm having a boy. My friends were all excited for their scan because they hadn't found out the sex yet. But I already know the sex so I just find myself nervous about the scan. Anyone else feel this way? And how did yours turn out?
Avatar f tn What all happens when they do the anatomy scan besides finding out the sex and measuring of the baby
Avatar f tn Is an anatomy scan the same as a ultrasound, cuz ama have my first ultrasound in 2 weeks and i know in the first ultrasound they check for a lot of things, but i nvr knew about the ubilico cord and cervixs??
Avatar f tn So I go in for my anatomy Scan on the 24th I'm just wondering why this one can take an hour and what there looking for and if they can tell me the gender of the baby?
Avatar f tn Has anyone had their anatomy scan yet? I'm 17 weeks now. I went in for a gender scan at 16 weeks and everything looked good. But after googling and seeing a bunch of horrible posts I'm panicking about the anatomy scan and still have 4 weeks left till I get it. I'm getting it done at 21 weeks. I pushed it a week and a half later because my boyfriend wanted to be here. I'm just worried that something will be horribly wrong.
Avatar f tn Can you please explain my MRI of the brain done with and without contrast please: On T2 weighted and FLAIR sequences, there are multiple subcentimeter round ovoid foci of high signal in the right frontal lobe periventricular white matter, in addition to several subcentimeter lesions in the periventricular and subcortical white matter in the left frontal lobe and the subcortical white matter in the posterior right frontal lobe.
Avatar m tn Your MRI scan shows white punctate lesions suggestive of demyelination. You need to correlate these with the clinical findings, why was the MRI done in the first place etc. if this was done since there was a clinical suspicion of multiple sclerosis; these lesions have significance and may represent MS plaques. Diagnosis of MS is made based on clinical history of previous attacks, CSF examination, and MRI. Certain diagnostic criteria and radiological criteria need to be fulfilled.
Avatar f tn Ill be 23 weeks tomorrow and have my anatomy scan. Was anyone else extremely nervous? My stomach hurts just thinking about everything they look for and at.. what if my baby isnt ok? And not to mention we will find out the gender! Ahh i feel like i am stressing myself out for nothing!
Avatar f tn Headaches after a brain injury can also be due to concussion, and normally CT and MRI are normal. However, yes, MRI should be done to rule out brain injury as the cause. Stress due to concussion and brain injury can also be the cause. Also get your blood pressure checked. Take care!
Avatar f tn More importantly I want a healthy baby so all prayers that our anatomy scan turns out normal are very much appreciated!! Thanks ladies!!
Avatar n tn I had a brain mri scan for recurrent 'auras' thought to be due to migraine. The result of the scan came back normal except for a few spots of plaques. I am 50, is this normal? I am concerned that it is indicative of early degeneration associated with dementia.
Avatar f tn Hi, last year I had an MRI scan. I was having it as the Dr was looking to see if I had an AVM on the brain, I get a lot of headaches and have an AVM on my right forearm. When I went to see the Dr he told me my results, he said there is a malformation there but it isnt an AVM. He then pointed to the temporal lobes and said they are low. I should of asked him what that meant, but I never ask questions when Im there, I just say to myself I should of asked this and I should of asked that.
700067 tn?1332989283 I went in to the PCP today because my pain has gotten worse and this morning I lost control of my bowels. (I am still waiting to see the Chiari specialist.) She sent me over to the hospital for a CT scan and it came back "normal." I know that most people have MRIs and the Cine Flow MRI. Can a CT scan really be helpful? I was hoping she would get me a MRI of my spine since so far I've only had my brain looked at. She did give me gab for the pain.
Avatar f tn s a lot of false positives aswell and that they could tell if the baby had any defects in the anatomy scan, my anatomy scan came back clean and clear healthy baby all the way I hope this helps check out ur ultrasounds they will tell u right away good luck momma :) I hope all is well for you and baby
Avatar f tn I had a cat scan and blood test that showed a lesion on my brain. My doctor the had me get an MRI brain scan which his nurse said came back normal. Then why do I still feel like my brain has been scrambled ,and I just don't feel good overall?
Avatar m tn Hi I had a MR scan of my brain a couple of weeks ago as I had vertigo’s episodes some times . According to my doctor the MR results shows some unspecified gliosis. He said this is not a major problem, as it can be associated to some sleeping disorders and nothing with the vertigo. Do you agree with this opinion or I should check with a neurologist?
Avatar f tn A CT scan and MRI are pretty much the tests that will find a tumor- if you've had 3 scans that have been normal I would think everything is okay.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if someone could tell me which is better to examine someone looking for any cause of psychotic episodes -- MRI or CT scan? Also, what conditions might show up on either exam as the source of the problem? Thank you.
Avatar f tn I tolerated the symptoms until the last year and the have gotten worse, again The MRI scans I have show no brain lesions. Again I get lets wait and see. I am getting to old and to tired of these answers, can someone please tell me what my next step should be?
