i went to an ENT doctor and he said (after visual exam) tonsillitis in both the side. he prescribed me cefunonyme (250mg) + potassium clavulanate(125mg), levocitrizine (10mg) + montelukast (10mg) , povidone iodine gargle for 10 days course otherwise surgery is required. i have taken medicines for 4 days and 50% improvement is noticed. i am afraid of surgery, what to do in this case?
I have heard of others, especially children, experiencing the same or similar neuropsychiatric side effects with Montelukast and would love to know if someone found something that has helped. I just started a full body detox plan with the hope that that might help, and I wonder if there is something that might help with brain inflammation if that is the problem. I am seeing a naturopath who is very helpful. He referred me to an accupuncturist which helps but not completely.
is there another medicine similar to singulair that doesn't have the bad side effects
I took Montelukast (Singulair) for about one month and began having extreme nightmares and panic attacks. I stopped the montelukast immediately, and the nightmares stopped. But the panic attacks continue. I know others have had similar reactions, but I wonder if anyone has found out how to make the effects go away? I have been off the medication for over 3 months now.
I know plenty about Zoloft, but I have never heard of the other two meds you mentioned.
What I do know is that in some people (myself included) when the persons depression is of a severe level that it can be hard to find meds that work. I couldn't even list all the dozens of different meds I have been on in the past 18 years. More than I care to count.
It is very seldom now that my Psychiatrist and I even find a combination of meds that even works.

Celexa is a more preferred drug for OCD at a low dose for children. This drug seems to work the best with the fewest side effects. If you don't mind what type of OCD subject is it?
m not sure if Zofran is used in children but you could ask. Tetrabenzene is used but that has some serious side effects so that might not be for children either. But there are other medications as well. Clonidine in patch form (Catapres) is especially helpful for tic like motions (tardive tourreticism which is a variant of tardive dyskinesia I have as well). I am on Tenex which is helpful as well. I believe both of those are used in children.

My son just called and asked if I could drive him and some friends to the ice skating rink and I sadly had to tell him to ask dad. I heard a bit of sadness in his voice (he is 11) since he and my other children know that mom is always the one to go to for things.Thankfully my husband agreed to drive them but I feel guilty because I know hubby is not going to pick up the slack when it comes to the kids and I am sure that they know this too.
I'm more worried about the hair thinning right now. I've seen posts about people thinking their hair thinning is a result of the medication. The side effects I've found is a long list and hair thinning has been mentioned. I'm scared to death and beginning to panic about it.
Please go through the below head CT scan results of a 6 year old boy and kindly confirm if a repeated head scan exposes the boy to too of radiation. Will there be any long term side effects?
