modafinil with adderall

Has anyone using provigil in 200mg doses had problems with either elevated blood pressure or blood pressure spikes?

Hi Alex I took a nap on provigil/modafanil. So it did nothing for me. I've read others here that have taken adderall for fatique with good results. Adderall will be my next step as I've already talked to the doc about it. My fatigue has been better since I stopped working. Good your going to the doc tomorrow so u can talk over your options. I have recently started on Tec, and so far so good. Neither Modafinil (Provigil) nor Symmetrel (Amantadine) helped me at all. Adderall does, though it gives me a dry mouth. There have been many threads over the years on these meds, which you can read by using the magnifying glass icon at the upper left.

I was on amantidine, modafinil, fampriya(which is usually for walking but has shown to help some people with fatigue), aand finally ritalin. It has taken about two years to get to this point.

I am currently being treated for CFS with a medication called Modafinil. It’s the one medication that’s a stimulant, that’s not in the same class as Adderall or Ritalin with a very low abuse potential. It helps out a lot, but I feel while it is helping it does damage as well considering you get used to the medication and the CFS is 100 times worse then when it started. My question is this : What medical procedures are done to rule out it being an underlying medical condition ?

m seeing another sleep specialist this week. Has anyone taken adderall and been able to sleep? Please someone help me. I will take anyone's advice. I want my life back. I have to go back to work. Please I will try anything. I'm desperate not sure how I'm going to pay rent. Feel horrible.

Does anyone know of a medication that would help with lack of energy, fatigue, and brain fog (aside from Provigil)? My insurance doesn't want to authorize approval of Provigil for my symptoms. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Modafinil is a drug for narcolepsy prescribed for MS fatigue. I am interested in knowing if you have narcolepsy or MS fatigue. Recently I have been experiencing extreme fatigue for which my neuro prescribed amantadine. It is working. The next step would be modafinil but I was told that many of their patients use Ritalin or adderall. Both are addictive so they start with the ones with least side effects first. So far amantadine has been helping get me through my day without crashing.

Try tapering the Xanax then go with a stimulant to help with daily energy (something like Adderall if you want amphetamines and Modafinil if you don't want amphetamines and less side-effects). Managing a healthy diet rich in complex carbohydrates rather than simple sugar, rich in Omega-3, vegetables and fruits can also help.

For anything medical, continue working with your doc. Beware the possibility of overlap with non-med issues though, that's very common. For the non-med portion, use a CBT sleep training system. Those methods are substance-free and the usual standard of care.

m not sure why a doctor would prescribe Valium to someone with narcolepsy - stimulants like Adderall can often leave someone feeling strung out, burnt out, and even more tired in the long run... versus something like Provigil (aka modafinil) which is non-narcotic and promotes awareness and wakefulness.

I have been put on Modafinil for my sleeping issues and it makes my birth control less effective according to my neurologist and pharmacist. Is there any way I can find out how MUCH less? Not good. You definitely want to look for a specialist. Might want to scope out your throat to see if there are also problems down there. Under side effects for Nuvigil it says, "Skin and mouth sores, blistering, and ulceration have been reported with modafinil and NUVIGIL in the postmarketing setting. Since Provigil went generic, I have been taking modafinil - there are days I try to not take the pill and I find by about 3 pm or so, I really just want to put my head down on my desk and sleep. This, of course, is not an option, so I go back to taking the modafinil and it does make a difference.

any advice or experiences that could help me understand would be really helpful please. My brother has started university to study architecture this year and due to the huge amount of nights he had to work, started going on modafinil. Now that the year is finished and he's not taking it however, he has become aggressive, irrational and rude. Does anyone know if this is because of the modafinil or if there's a link.

The grounds for my taking it was for my sleep apnea and not the MS. Modafinil remains an off-label use for MS, but with the advent of the generic form, it seems to be easier to get approved. It seems people either love the effects of Modafinil on their fatigue, or they have no improvement at all. There isn't any middle ground with the drug and how we react. I am impressed that you are running a marathon - good for you. You might consider talking to the doctor about intermittent self-catherization. If you use ISC before you begin your run, your bladder will be completely empty and there will be nothing to leak. It might be a good technique to add to your training regimen.

I have been taking 100 grams of modafinil pills for about 2 weeks to get through exams and now that I have stopped taking anything, I am experiencing constant dizziness. I am wondering whether I should wait this out or whether I need to see a doctor asap....

hi i have been on prozac and xanax since march 3 2010.my dr added adderall for refractory depression a little over a week ago,,,,i can tell not much difference....and im still having the slow unsteady walk from before the addderall...does anyone know how long it will take the adderall to help my depression,,,he is usinfg it off label....

Can you please tell me if taking 300mg Adrafinil (pre-cursor to Modafinil) once or twice a week, to help me study. will decrease the effectivenes of birth control pills? I'm taking Levlen 1.5/30mg I know that a long term Modafinil use makes birth control pills less effective but how about short term? PLEASE ADVISE, Thank you!

This is not uncommon, I have this problem as well. The question is can you live with the extra anxiety if the adderall is really helping you? The problem with taking an upper (adderall) and a downer (ativan) together is that they will counter act against each other and neither one will be as effective in your system. You said that you were just diagnosed? Is this your first add medication? You may want to consider trying a different one if the adderall continues to give you problems.
