I have been put on Modafinil for my sleeping issues and it makes my birth control less effective according to my neurologist and pharmacist. Is there any way I can find out how MUCH less? Am I even protected at all? I have been on the pill for 10 years and after hearing this, I immediately called my gynecologist to discuss other options. She told me that the oral pill would metabolize through the liver much faster on Modafinil and so she put me on the Nuvaring.
I can smell it on his jowls, the top of his head/neck, and comng from his mouth. I have washed him, I have used dog calone sprays, and I can still smell a distinct urine type smell arround his muzzle.
What could this be?
Others that have sniffed him only seem to smell the calones, but I KNOW im smelling something "off" with him.
Everyday my vagina has a urine smell. It has become a huge deal in my relationship b/c every time my boyfriend goes down on me he is disgusted by the smell. For the past month I've noticed a very strong smell in my urine (sulfur smell). STD tests are clean, pregnancy tests are negative (no period in almost 2 months), I don't have many symptoms of a UTI (other than smell) and my test for diabetes was good. Besides that I feel perfectly normal. Can anyone explain?

My brother has started university to study architecture this year and due to the huge amount of nights he had to work, started going on modafinil. Now that the year is finished and he's not taking it however, he has become aggressive, irrational and rude. Does anyone know if this is because of the modafinil or if there's a link.

Urinary bladder infection and kidney infections do produce strong smelling urine. Another reason is dehydration. Strong ammonia smell is due to protein breakdown. A routine urine examination along with a urine culture will be able to detect the problem. Drink plenty of fluids and water and see if that helps. Also if you are on crash diets etc then protein breakdown can cause an ammonia smell. Also diet rich in protein can be the cause.
Can anyone please tell me if adrafinil (pre-cursor to Modafinil) will affect taking birth-control pills? In other words, if I occasionally take adrafinil to help me study - will it make the pills ineffective. I certainly don't want to get pregnant.
I know that long term use of Modafinil decreases the effectivenes of bc pills but how about short term use?

Hi. I need some help figuring out how Modafinil works. I basically have something which seems like Insomnia but it isn't. I believe I suffer from Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome. I have had it since I was 15, I am 25 now. The problem is that, I can't maintain a proper schedule. I can never sleep at a particular time everyday. It keeps moving as every day passes by. For example, right now I am sleeping at around 9 AM everyday and then I am getting up at around 5 PM.
Me and my fiance have a kitten and he handles the litter box cleaning it and all that. But our kitten decided to pee on our bed and we didnt smell it until this morning around six so we took the blankets off and washed them but will it harm my unborn baby smelling the urine for that amount of time until we realized it was kitty urine:( a little worried please let me know what you ladies that have went through this think or kmow.
I have that ammonia smell too and some wetness on my pantyliners. This is something new that just started happening to me. I did a search, which I shouldn't have done because it said a fistula! This sometimes can happen after a hysterectomy.
I will be calling my doctor tomorrow if I still have it today.
