mobic

Avatar f tn Today a Doctor gave me a script for Mobic, for wrist pain that I have had for the past month from repative work,my Urate levels are at 52 just over limit.Im on Asprin and fluid tablets which can raise these levels. A specialist doctor I saw says it is gout I don't believe it is...I'm unsure about taking the Mobic though for my wrist ??
Avatar f tn However, I was on mobic for my wrist and that did not help at all so I had to get a cortisone shot in my wrist. It seemed to help, but the pain is already back and stronger than ever. Now I have a cold, wet feeling in my thumb. I grabbed a random photo off the Net and circled the place as to where I feel that sort of feeling. I never had the feeling before. I'm also limited on my mobility and my right ankle is pretty swelled up as well.
518798 tn?1295212279 i actually had to be on mobic for a while. its generic name is meloxicam..its a nonsteriodal anti inflammitory. i am no longer taking it, but its good and works well.
Avatar f tn Tendonitis is another possibility. Foot infection, gout, rheumatoid arthritis are the other possibilities. It can also be ligament injury. You may need a MRI of the foot and ankle. Meanwhile, rest your feet by keeping them elevated on a cushion or stool. Apply ice pack. Take non-steroidal anti-inflammatory such as Tylenol, Aleve or Mobic. Hope this helps. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
Avatar m tn My doctor wrote me a script for Mobic to help with some nerve pain. Im wondering if anyone knows if its similar to tramadol at all, Im hoping not, but anyone who has any helpful info please let me know. I cant start back on opiates again for the pain and Ive heard too many bad stories about tramadol to even consider it as an alternative. Also if anyone knows of anything that helps nerve pain, Im open for any suggestions. Hope everyone is well, thanks.
Avatar n tn Does anyone know if mobic is addictive? My doctor switched me to them today from loratab. I am glad because the loratab really is addictive and I would rather not have my body relying on anything. I have been on the loratab for a little over a year now and I feel like crap if I miss a day and go without it. Not only am I in pain (because of female problems and my back) but I feel like I have the flu. How long will I feel that way without it? since I switch my meds today.
Avatar n tn My provider told me I have a little of Osteo arthritis and has prescribed me Mobic for the pain. Now, since like a month ago, I have been feeling like big pulses on my legs, buttock, arms, neck, face, back and stomack at times. It does not last too long but, i do have then through out the whole day. It is somewhat worrying me. Does anyone know why this is happening or what lab test can I get done?
Avatar m tn Yes you can take Mobic with a narcotic pain med. Mobic is a NSAID, and has the same risks as other NSAIDS. In high doses it can cause some kidney issues, the vicodin has tylenol in it and can cause some liver issues in high doses. But they are safe to take together. Typically what you want to watch for is multiple NSAIDS, or Multiple meds with tylenol.
Avatar n tn He went to his doctor and was diagnosed with gout. Since then, he only had one gout-like attack (not painful at all) on the toe next to his big one, and only lasted a couple of hours. He isn't complaining about pain or anything, thankfully.. but I am still worried about gout in general.

Avatar m tn I having been having problems with pain in my foot, its really bad and when it happens I can't walk. it really seems like gout but I am a vegetarian, I have been avoiding legumes and other foods known to cause gout, I do not drink beer, could there be other causes or could it be a different condition? Avatar f tn ) Asparagus has been on the list for ages, as has shellfish, small oily fish such as sardines and anchovy, organ meat, turkey and red meat. Alcohol is also a no-no. According to the gout website, only 5% of all gout sufferers are women. The test to determine which type you have is to aspirate the fluid from the affected joint during an outbreak. You may not feel this is necessary since the medication is the same for both but the diets are different.

Avatar n tn Woke up with bad case of gout. I have not been taking my Allopurinol. If I start it back up today do you think it will help with the gout pain and inflammation? I am taking Ibuprophen and soaking in epsom salts/hot water.
Avatar f tn I was recently diagnosed with gout and although I do have pain in my big toe (mainly left, but also some in right), I'm having more trouble with my fingers - they are where the pain is worst and where I've got some tophi. How common/uncommon is it to have gout more in the fingers than the toe? I know it can affect other joints other than teh big toe, but just not sure how common it is and if it makes it any more difficutl to treat?

107366 tn?1305680375 Have any of you tried Total Gout Relief? I had a coworker whose husband used this system to treat his gout. He says Total Gout Relief gave him amazing results, to the point where his gout is virtually gone! He says the system contains only high quality, all-natural ingredients which are supposed to clean and repair your system from the inside out. Now, my main reason for posting this message: I wonder if Total Gout Relief will work for my brother.
Avatar f tn My father has gout and it gets really bad sometimes. Is gout heritable? Could my pain be caused by gout instead of a stress injury?
712802 tn?1274645485 My daughter had pain in her big toe that moved up to her knee and is now in her hip. My first thought was "gout" but she said her doctor did not mention gout. Her pcp said she thought it might be arthritis and gave her some "Sulindac". She is also taking Flexiril which I have; and buspirone. I am not familiar with "Sulindac" and haven't "googled" it yet, but wondering if anyone had any thoughts about her pain?
Avatar m tn However, i have heard some people claim that it can trigger a gout attack since preventing gout is all about having a low protein diet, and having a high protein intake can increase your uric acid levels, on the other hand, some sources claim just the opposite and says its good for gout, since it is a dairy product, its protein is actually low in purine, like soy milk, and would come as a healthy diet alternative.
