Common Questions and Answers about Mobic for gout

mobic

Avatar f tn Today a Doctor gave me a script for Mobic, for wrist pain that I have had for the past month from repative work,my Urate levels are at 52 just over limit.Im on Asprin and fluid tablets which can raise these levels. A specialist doctor I saw says it is gout I don't believe it is...I'm unsure about taking the Mobic though for my wrist ??
Avatar f tn However, I was on mobic for my wrist and that did not help at all so I had to get a cortisone shot in my wrist. It seemed to help, but the pain is already back and stronger than ever. Now I have a cold, wet feeling in my thumb. I grabbed a random photo off the Net and circled the place as to where I feel that sort of feeling. I never had the feeling before. I'm also limited on my mobility and my right ankle is pretty swelled up as well.
518798 tn?1295212279 i actually had to be on mobic for a while. its generic name is meloxicam..its a nonsteriodal anti inflammitory. i am no longer taking it, but its good and works well.
Avatar n tn Hello~I am 53 years old I have been diagnosed with gout even though a blood test for uric acid came out negative. I have had terrible inflammation in my metatarsal phalangeal joint and the smaller joint closer to the tip of my big toe. I have had a cortisone shot in each. I don't drink, eat shellfish and have a mostly plant based diet. I do have hypertension however and am terrified that maybe I have hurt my kidneys because I take the lowest dose of hypertension medicine.
Avatar m tn I've had GOUT for 7 yrs with attacks every 6 months until last year. Started with 100mg allopurnol last summer. All was quite. Dec had a serious attack and after 1-month of trying Indomethecine then Prednisone I received a cortozone shot and allopurnol was increased to 400mg. Uric acid is now down to 4.6 from a high of 6.9 in Dec.
Avatar f tn Thank you so much for your advices. Have you ever met any patient had the same problem like me? I went to my foot doctor again, and he said the arch in the bottom of my feet are not strong enough to carry all my body. That's why whenever I stand up, the bones in the bottom of my feet just collapse and some bones go to the wrong position. Also it has been too long since my feet start hurting.
107366 tn?1305680375 I have had episodes of gout for more than 10 years now. It wasn't too bad up until about three years ago when I started chemotherapy for cancer. I also have Crohn's disease, and believe it and the gout mean I definitely have issues with auto-immune disorders. In the past 6 months, my Allopurinol has been upped to 300 mg, then to 450 mg per day. I also follow a low purine diet most of the time, but I admit, sometimes I gotta have a steak!
Avatar f tn I'm with Cindee on this one, firstly what type of Dr. dx you? People can have more than one type of arthritis at the same time, if you haven't already you need to see a Rheumatologist and get all new labs done. I take Enbrel for my disease ( AS), my last rheumy gave me a RX for Lyrica which I did not even bother filling, not interested in gaining weight thank you! If you've been on Mobic for a long time it is entirely possible your body is no longer responding to it.
Avatar m tn My doctor wrote me a script for Mobic to help with some nerve pain. Im wondering if anyone knows if its similar to tramadol at all, Im hoping not, but anyone who has any helpful info please let me know. I cant start back on opiates again for the pain and Ive heard too many bad stories about tramadol to even consider it as an alternative. Also if anyone knows of anything that helps nerve pain, Im open for any suggestions. Hope everyone is well, thanks.

Avatar n tn My mama used to take Mobic and it helped her back alot. Unfortunately for her, it upset her stomach so she quit taking it with no side effects following. Best wishes.
401370 tn?1233324682 Long term, higher o-t-c dosing needs to be monitored by a Dr. to be certain no ulcerations or irritation occurs. I am on Mobic NSAID prescription and need to have bloodwork done ev. 3 mos for kidney function, and am told to be aware of any acid reflux indicators as a side effect not to brush off lightly while on NSAID's.
Avatar n tn My provider told me I have a little of Osteo arthritis and has prescribed me Mobic for the pain. Now, since like a month ago, I have been feeling like big pulses on my legs, buttock, arms, neck, face, back and stomack at times. It does not last too long but, i do have then through out the whole day. It is somewhat worrying me. Does anyone know why this is happening or what lab test can I get done?
Avatar m tn I am taking mobic for chronic back pain, however i was recently prescribed vicodin to take in unison with the mobic. I need to know how dangerous if at all the combination of the two can be, and if i need to be aware of additional side effects?
Avatar n tn tall, and about 250 pounds (in process of losing weight). He had a gout attack in September on his knee, and it was very painful for him. He went to his doctor and was diagnosed with gout. Since then, he only had one gout-like attack (not painful at all) on the toe next to his big one, and only lasted a couple of hours. He isn't complaining about pain or anything, thankfully.. but I am still worried about gout in general.

Male 0 or over for the past two years, causing no problems until now, I am getting gout. I have been on Allopurinol and had two rounds of steroids and within three days of being off the steroids my gout returns. I don't drink, or eat a much meat and have increased my vitamin C to 1500 mg a day, is there anything else I can do?

Avatar f tn I was recently diagnosed with gout and although I do have pain in my big toe (mainly left, but also some in right), I'm having more trouble with my fingers - they are where the pain is worst and where I've got some tophi. How common/uncommon is it to have gout more in the fingers than the toe? I know it can affect other joints other than teh big toe, but just not sure how common it is and if it makes it any more difficutl to treat?
