Mobic for fibromyalgia

Common Questions and Answers about Mobic for fibromyalgia

mobic

Avatar f tn Hi... I was diagnosed with ostearthritis & fibromyalgia a few years ago...and have been taking mobic since then, which has worked. About a month ago, the mobic didn't seem to be working as well.. my hands were hurting a lot at work... so I went back to my dr & he changed my medicine to relafen for the osteoarthritis & lyrica for the fibromyalgia. Although the lyrica seems to work, I'm not liking the side effects, puffy hands & feet & eye twitching...
335728 tn?1331414412 I have experienced this too, I was on elavil for awhile for my fibromyalgia and was unaware of the sun sensitivity. The Dr seen I was a person who enjoys a tan and did not warn me and got in the tanning bed, a usual thing for me to do and because I go a lot I stay in for the maximum time allowed. The first day after I started this drug I went to the tanning spa and boy! was I burned. My husband got so upset he told me to stay out of them.
176838 tn?1211460374 I am a 31 year old female and I recently saw a fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue specialist for a myriad of complaints including fatigue, headaches, joint & muscle pain. He thinks I might have sleep apnea which would account for some of my symptoms but not all. I have some of the pressure points for fibromyalgia but not a full 11.
Avatar f tn As of right now I am taking Tylenol-Codeine (for pain), Gabapentin, and Baclofen (for sleep). I was also just prescribed Savella for the pain. I am concerned because my pain with Tramadol was fine (it kept e within comfortable range with Mobic) and the doctor keeps giving me these pills I don't need. I only asked for something for the stiffness. They told me that Fibromyalgia is non-inflammatory so it doesn't need an anti-inflammatory.
518798 tn?1295212279 i actually had to be on mobic for a while. its generic name is meloxicam..its a nonsteriodal anti inflammitory. i am no longer taking it, but its good and works well.
Avatar f tn Have you tried antiinflammatories for regular pain and toradol for bad pain? Many of the medication they prescribe for fibromyalgia is non narcotic , but I can't recall the names off hand. I know many are on nuerotin for pain, but not sure it thats addicting. I know I was not much help, but wanted to tap in to say CONGRATS on all those clean years. Hope you get some long term relief.
Avatar f tn I have been to a doctor for my pain and other symptoms. He ran blood tests to check my rh factor and started me on 15 mg mobic/day. The blood tests came back ok. The mobic didn't seem to help at all. So now he's thinking I may have fibromyalgia. He told me to stay on the mobic (which I decided to stop taking since it didn't seem to help at all) and also started me on Savella. I have been taking it for about 5 days now and I'm noticing tremendous relief!
12133699 tn?1423612956 I do feel much better however, I'm very sore. I do have fibromyalgia and chronic back pain but I have been taking Mobic, flexeril and topamax. Still very sore. Is this pretty common.
Avatar m tn When there is nothing else someone can take, narcotics is better than living in severe pain for some people. Some people are allergic, or it does nothing for them so they turn to narcotics. I think the warm shower in the morning and stretches are very good! I've heard around that certain foods can aggravate fibro. caffeine, gluton, fake sugars, msg. I don't know of any other non narcotic meds, but if you don't want to take narcotics, I would look into more natural healing.
Avatar f tn My rheumatologist tested me for autoimmune diseases because my mother has one and I had other symptoms that made him go that route (Raynaud's, photosensitivity, and hair loss). However, those tests came back negative. When he told me of my results he said he thinks I might have fibromyalgia and asked how I have been doing on the medication (Vit D, mobic, and Ultram) that he gave me.
975514 tn?1324997938 I am curious to know for those of you who have only been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia (no other coexisting diseases such as Lupus or Lyme disease), do you get pain relief from any NSAID medications like ibuprofen, Aleve, or any other prescription NSAIDs like Mobic or Voltaren?
2010625 tn?1329372056 I wondered too if it might be fibromyalgia, but the doctor said she wanted to rule other stuff out first. My doc also prescribed me Mobic for the pain I have to take it every day in order for it to work she said. She wants me to come back in a month to see if it is working. The thing is I am not depressed and yet the pain still lingers. The pain has spread to my legs mid, and lower back. My hands sometimes cramp when holding my phone to my ear or just from holding a drink in my hand.
Avatar n tn s a big question and too much for me to answer on here. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 4 years ago. You may want to check out one of my fav. Fibro sites www.immunesupport.com . They have tons of info on FM as well as chronic fatigue and the like. The site has symptom lists as well as current research, treatments, etc. and may offer you a starting off point.
757527 tn?1237893063 I have done research on both, and the reccomendations are for short term use. He thinks I have Fibromyalgia, but I don't think so. I ask for Xrays, or a Mri, but he doesn't think that will be beneficial. Any one have suggestions on how long I should wait before quitting it?
12133699 tn?1423612956 So far I feel sluggish and achey. I do still take mobic, flexeril and topamax for my fibromyalgia. Anything can give me would be great. Thank you!!
Avatar m tn My doctor wrote me a script for Mobic to help with some nerve pain. Im wondering if anyone knows if its similar to tramadol at all, Im hoping not, but anyone who has any helpful info please let me know. I cant start back on opiates again for the pain and Ive heard too many bad stories about tramadol to even consider it as an alternative. Also if anyone knows of anything that helps nerve pain, Im open for any suggestions. Hope everyone is well, thanks.
Avatar f tn I started taking 60 mg cymbalta around 6 weeks ago for depression and fibromyalgia. I felt I was getting into deeper drepression and still hurting.I went to the Dr and told him and he up the meds. The Dr doubles my dose to 120 mg cymbalta. Avatar n tn My mama used to take Mobic and it helped her back alot. Unfortunately for her, it upset her stomach so she quit taking it with no side effects following. Best wishes.
401370 tn?1233324682 Long term, higher o-t-c dosing needs to be monitored by a Dr. to be certain no ulcerations or irritation occurs. I am on Mobic NSAID prescription and need to have bloodwork done ev. 3 mos for kidney function, and am told to be aware of any acid reflux indicators as a side effect not to brush off lightly while on NSAID's.
Avatar n tn My provider told me I have a little of Osteo arthritis and has prescribed me Mobic for the pain. Now, since like a month ago, I have been feeling like big pulses on my legs, buttock, arms, neck, face, back and stomack at times. It does not last too long but, i do have then through out the whole day. It is somewhat worrying me. Does anyone know why this is happening or what lab test can I get done?

Avatar m tn I am taking mobic for chronic back pain, however i was recently prescribed vicodin to take in unison with the mobic. I need to know how dangerous if at all the combination of the two can be, and if i need to be aware of additional side effects?
1905190 tn?1321792581 m only 14 but I do get occasional muscle pains and my knees begin to hurt if I kneel down or keep them straight for too long, I always crack my fingers and my wrists and elbows can occasionally hurt, which is a lot like my mum and she tells me not to. Could anyone please tell me if I'm just being a bit paranoid or if you can get the symptoms this young?
