Mobic fibromyalgia

Common Questions and Answers about Mobic fibromyalgia

mobic

Avatar f tn Hi... I was diagnosed with ostearthritis & fibromyalgia a few years ago...and have been taking mobic since then, which has worked. About a month ago, the mobic didn't seem to be working as well.. my hands were hurting a lot at work... so I went back to my dr & he changed my medicine to relafen for the osteoarthritis & lyrica for the fibromyalgia. Although the lyrica seems to work, I'm not liking the side effects, puffy hands & feet & eye twitching...
335728 tn?1331414412 I have experienced this too, I was on elavil for awhile for my fibromyalgia and was unaware of the sun sensitivity. The Dr seen I was a person who enjoys a tan and did not warn me and got in the tanning bed, a usual thing for me to do and because I go a lot I stay in for the maximum time allowed. The first day after I started this drug I went to the tanning spa and boy! was I burned. My husband got so upset he told me to stay out of them.
176838 tn?1211460374 I am a 31 year old female and I recently saw a fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue specialist for a myriad of complaints including fatigue, headaches, joint & muscle pain. He thinks I might have sleep apnea which would account for some of my symptoms but not all. I have some of the pressure points for fibromyalgia but not a full 11.
518798 tn?1295212279 i actually had to be on mobic for a while. its generic name is meloxicam..its a nonsteriodal anti inflammitory. i am no longer taking it, but its good and works well.
5082295 tn?1371250911 I just started Mobic (meloxicam) a few days ago and they say I should work fast. Im taking one 7.5 tab a day for Piriformis syndrome which is a disorder that occurs when the sciatic nerve is compressed or otherwise irritated by the piriformis muscle. I really don't see any difference in my pain level at all, I had more help w ibphrofen, should I take that right now too? could I increase the dose till I talk to my doc on Monday or should I give it more time to work?
Avatar m tn I’m in my mid-forties, and have a lot of medical problems that keep me in constant pain. Some of the things I’ve been diagnosed with include osteoarthritis, bone spurs, fibromyalgia, sciatica, lots of torn cartilage in my knees, lower back pain, COPD, anxiety attacks, depression, PTSD, and, well, you get the picture. My primary doctor and my neurologist have me on a lot of medications.
Avatar f tn I have been to a doctor for my pain and other symptoms. He ran blood tests to check my rh factor and started me on 15 mg mobic/day. The blood tests came back ok. The mobic didn't seem to help at all. So now he's thinking I may have fibromyalgia. He told me to stay on the mobic (which I decided to stop taking since it didn't seem to help at all) and also started me on Savella. I have been taking it for about 5 days now and I'm noticing tremendous relief!
12133699 tn?1423612956 I do feel much better however, I'm very sore. I do have fibromyalgia and chronic back pain but I have been taking Mobic, flexeril and topamax. Still very sore. Is this pretty common.

Avatar f tn However, those tests came back negative. When he told me of my results he said he thinks I might have fibromyalgia and asked how I have been doing on the medication (Vit D, mobic, and Ultram) that he gave me. I told him I've been feeling worse and that now I haven't been able to sleep or concentrate on anything. I see my primary care doctor tomorrow and was wondering how likely she would be able to help me out until my next rheumy appointment. I just want to be able to sleep!
975514 tn?1324997938 I am curious to know for those of you who have only been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia (no other coexisting diseases such as Lupus or Lyme disease), do you get pain relief from any NSAID medications like ibuprofen, Aleve, or any other prescription NSAIDs like Mobic or Voltaren?
Avatar n tn s a big question and too much for me to answer on here. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 4 years ago. You may want to check out one of my fav. Fibro sites www.immunesupport.com . They have tons of info on FM as well as chronic fatigue and the like. The site has symptom lists as well as current research, treatments, etc. and may offer you a starting off point.
2010625 tn?1329372056 Pain is often part of depression; there seems to be no rhyme or reason for it. It can come and go and sometimes changes. Your description sounds a bit like fibromyalgia, but I'm not a Dr. Have you tried pain meds...tylenol, ibuprofen, naprosyn, aspirin. If so, keep track of the pain, activity and meds to take to the doctor; it would be helpful in diagnosing you. Good luck.
Avatar f tn It helped along with the anti-inflammatory medication I was given (Mobic or Meloxicam) and with the help of Tramadol (Ultram) and Melatonin for sleep. When I turned 18 I thought it would be a good idea to see an adult Rheumatologist. They said it wasn't CRPS and stopped prescribing me the anti-inflammatory. Ever since then I have been getting worse again. It's my senior year of high school and I can't attend school daily or meet the requirements of my part-time job.
757527 tn?1237893063 My family doctor recently perscribed both Flexeril and Mobic. After a month without a huge improvement he increased the dosage, and wants me to continue another month. I have gotten some relief however my main complaints from a bad fall 4 months ago, have not improved. He has not shown any concern on how long its safe. I have done research on both, and the reccomendations are for short term use. He thinks I have Fibromyalgia, but I don't think so.
Avatar f tn I 23 and have been suffering from pain for a very long time, and all other symptoms associated with fibromyalgia.recently a doctor decided it was fibromyalgia. I have started on Cymbalta 4 weeks ago, 60mg and have found no pain releif, but have found that im getting some energy back. Is it known to be benificial to be on cymbalta and lyrica at the same time? any recomendations i would greatly appriciate!!!!!!
12133699 tn?1423612956 So far I feel sluggish and achey. I do still take mobic, flexeril and topamax for my fibromyalgia. Anything can give me would be great. Thank you!!
Avatar m tn My doctor wrote me a script for Mobic to help with some nerve pain. Im wondering if anyone knows if its similar to tramadol at all, Im hoping not, but anyone who has any helpful info please let me know. I cant start back on opiates again for the pain and Ive heard too many bad stories about tramadol to even consider it as an alternative. Also if anyone knows of anything that helps nerve pain, Im open for any suggestions. Hope everyone is well, thanks.
Avatar n tn Does anyone know if mobic is addictive? My doctor switched me to them today from loratab. I am glad because the loratab really is addictive and I would rather not have my body relying on anything. I have been on the loratab for a little over a year now and I feel like crap if I miss a day and go without it. Not only am I in pain (because of female problems and my back) but I feel like I have the flu. How long will I feel that way without it? since I switch my meds today.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know if there is help to get meds that keep me narcotic free but actually helps the pain. I heard about Lyrica. Any suggestions? How about Mobic, Tramadol? are these ok?
Avatar n tn My provider told me I have a little of Osteo arthritis and has prescribed me Mobic for the pain. Now, since like a month ago, I have been feeling like big pulses on my legs, buttock, arms, neck, face, back and stomack at times. It does not last too long but, i do have then through out the whole day. It is somewhat worrying me. Does anyone know why this is happening or what lab test can I get done?
Avatar f tn Today a Doctor gave me a script for Mobic, for wrist pain that I have had for the past month from repative work,my Urate levels are at 52 just over limit.Im on Asprin and fluid tablets which can raise these levels. A specialist doctor I saw says it is gout I don't believe it is...I'm unsure about taking the Mobic though for my wrist ??
Avatar m tn Yes you can take Mobic with a narcotic pain med. Mobic is a NSAID, and has the same risks as other NSAIDS. In high doses it can cause some kidney issues, the vicodin has tylenol in it and can cause some liver issues in high doses. But they are safe to take together. Typically what you want to watch for is multiple NSAIDS, or Multiple meds with tylenol.
Avatar f tn Have you tried antiinflammatories for regular pain and toradol for bad pain? Many of the medication they prescribe for fibromyalgia is non narcotic , but I can't recall the names off hand. I know many are on nuerotin for pain, but not sure it thats addicting. I know I was not much help, but wanted to tap in to say CONGRATS on all those clean years. Hope you get some long term relief.
1905190 tn?1321792581 I was a knuckle cracker and got the same warnings from people. I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Lymes disease but my hands are not my major complaint. I'm 59 and despite the illness I deal with, my body is holding up. Keep yourself strong. Use your Phys. Ed. Class as a way to be active. Stay away from sugar as much as you can. Try to avoid processed foods. This is a basic rule we all should follow. I have a pain in my ribs my Mom, Aunt and Son have.
Avatar f tn I have had fibromyalgia for about 20 years after an incident that gave me Post Traumatic Stress, the Ross River Fever followed by glandular fever.I am currently on Neurontin 600mg 4 times a day, mobic amd Cybalta 1 x 60mg. Sleep has always been a major problem and I have occassionally fallen out of bed but in the last 2 days I have fallen out of bed 3 times and I am hurting myself. I also sometimes just drop.
