Avatar n tn Kidney functions are in normal range. Three days ago I coughed up a small amount of blood when on a blood thinner. I am off the blood thinner and no more blood has appeared. I am a little fatigued most of time. What should I need to do?
Avatar f tn His conclusion was that I needed one blood thinner, and the best for stents is obviously the plavix and so that one was chosen. After stopping the aspirin things settled down a lot.
Avatar f tn t personally dealt with it but a close friend had to give herself blood thinner shots in her belly throughout her whole pregnancy. Her doctor decided that a scheduled c-section was the best choice for her so that they could be in control of the situation. She hated it but she did want she had to do for the pregnancy.
Avatar f tn He has been taking Lisinopril for high blood pressure a little over a year. He has been taking Naproxen for arthritis for several years. We have not been able to isolate a trigger for the Afib other than his controlled blood pressure. Now I am reading that a side effect of Naproxen use is high blood pressure. Has any one else encountered this?
Avatar n tn This had to wait a week because of my week condition from other injuries. The last surgeon would not put me on blood thinner because he was concerned about internal bleeding. He did install an IVS filter because a blood clot had already started in one leg. Fast forward 6 weeks and still no blood thinner even tho I was non-weight bearing, immobile and inactive. I used a slide board to transfer from bed to wheelchair to commode. One morning both of my legs were swelled a lot. I called Dr.
1029058 tn?1253539152 I have no idea what you mean by "thick" blood, well, yes, blood anticoagulants are often referred to as "blood thinners" I believe they do not in any way thin the blood, they change the ability of the blood to coagulate, the blood is otherwise unchanged. One may have deep veins or thicker skin, and that may make it harder to "draw" blood for a test... but I think the problem is not "thick blood".
Avatar m tn My doctor wrote me a script for Mobic to help with some nerve pain. Im wondering if anyone knows if its similar to tramadol at all, Im hoping not, but anyone who has any helpful info please let me know. I cant start back on opiates again for the pain and Ive heard too many bad stories about tramadol to even consider it as an alternative. Also if anyone knows of anything that helps nerve pain, Im open for any suggestions. Hope everyone is well, thanks.
Avatar n tn Does anyone know if mobic is addictive? My doctor switched me to them today from loratab. I am glad because the loratab really is addictive and I would rather not have my body relying on anything. I have been on the loratab for a little over a year now and I feel like crap if I miss a day and go without it. Not only am I in pain (because of female problems and my back) but I feel like I have the flu. How long will I feel that way without it? since I switch my meds today.
493368 tn?1209757681 Mobic 15mgs has worked very well for my severe ankle tibial tendonitis and moderate arthritis coupled with physical therapy which helped restore my range of motion which was 60% lost at the time of therapy. However, the tendonitis can not be helped any furthe (I wear orthotics _ high top sneakrs and a splint brace to sleep at night) The mobic helps the arthritis alot for me & I've been on it 1.5yrs with normal blood labs.
Avatar n tn My provider told me I have a little of Osteo arthritis and has prescribed me Mobic for the pain. Now, since like a month ago, I have been feeling like big pulses on my legs, buttock, arms, neck, face, back and stomack at times. It does not last too long but, i do have then through out the whole day. It is somewhat worrying me. Does anyone know why this is happening or what lab test can I get done?
Avatar f tn I had a successful ablation on july 19, 2010 and only took blood thinner for the first 90 days following the ablation while my heart was healing.. I do take an 81 mg asprin daily. Im 69 so figure theyd want me to take it even with out an ablation. Hope this helps some. Never had a pace maker. I had the darn afib for 13 years and was shocked back into regular rhythm numerous times... It sure is nice to be back to normal now.. Im so glad I had the ablation... no pvcs no afib now ...
Avatar f tn re on a blood thinner like warfarin for some reason, they may aim for 2.0 - 3.0. In some cases where clotting is a real problem they may push it up to 2.5 to 3.5. Does that help? Do you have a heart or clotting disorder? Work with your doctor on that. They can control it but you'd have to be monitored regularly.
Avatar f tn They took a blood test and the only thing that was positive was my ANA. The Doctor performing the ultra sound said I had a mild inflammatory arthritis and an autoimmune disease. I really want to know what I might have because it will be June before I can get back in to see the doctor. If anybody has an idea, please help. Also, will this affect my fertility in any way? BTW I am getting really fat and depressed!
Avatar f tn Hi... I was diagnosed with ostearthritis & fibromyalgia a few years ago...and have been taking mobic since then, which has worked. About a month ago, the mobic didn't seem to be working as well.. my hands were hurting a lot at work... so I went back to my dr & he changed my medicine to relafen for the osteoarthritis & lyrica for the fibromyalgia. Although the lyrica seems to work, I'm not liking the side effects, puffy hands & feet & eye twitching...
Avatar f tn Today a Doctor gave me a script for Mobic, for wrist pain that I have had for the past month from repative work,my Urate levels are at 52 just over limit.Im on Asprin and fluid tablets which can raise these levels. A specialist doctor I saw says it is gout I don't believe it is...I'm unsure about taking the Mobic though for my wrist ??
Avatar m tn Yes you can take Mobic with a narcotic pain med. Mobic is a NSAID, and has the same risks as other NSAIDS. In high doses it can cause some kidney issues, the vicodin has tylenol in it and can cause some liver issues in high doses. But they are safe to take together. Typically what you want to watch for is multiple NSAIDS, or Multiple meds with tylenol.
Avatar n tn I was put on Lipitor and already take Lisinipril for high blood pressure. I was discharged and did not exercise for about 3 weeks. I then went for a run and when I finished I developed chest pain and lightheadness again after execising. I went back to the emergency room and they said it was not cardiac. They took blood and chest x-ray and everything was normal. Sitting still or lying down I have no pain. I only experience pain during any exertion.
Avatar m tn The surgeon did not order blood thinner as medication, and when we asked about Xarelto (blood thinner) from nurses, they told that blood thinner was not in list of her medications. Her doctor would have been able to see patient only on Tuesday. On Tuesday, August 21, mother suffered very severe pain in her abdomen, and the condition became critical, she was taken to the ER, and emergency surgery was performed.
5082295 tn?1371250911 That doctor thought I had arthritis and fibromyalgia because my joints in my hands and ankles were swollen and prescribed Mobic for it but at the end I went to a rheumatologist and after a lot of blood tests he told me I didn't have arthritis nor fibromyalgia. They still don't know what I have.
Avatar n tn t start having heartburn until I had taken Mobic for 4 or 5 months, in February of this year I went to the emergency room with chest pain and my blood pressure was 165/113, my blood pressure is usually 110/72. So I was a little concerned, they did lots of tests, x-ray, EKG, and came to the conclusion that it is was heartburn due to the mobic. The doctor prescribed nexium, which I have been taking ever since, and it seems to help with the chest pain.
Avatar m tn Apply ice, and take a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory such as Aleve or Mobic. You will need X-rays of the lower spine, pelvis and hip to see if you have a bony injury. The swelling could be a contusion (which will respond to the above treatment) or it could be a hematoma (localized collection of blood which may get re-absorbed or may need drainage). Please discuss with your doctor. Take care!
Avatar m tn I have heard that the drug Lamictal is also a Blood Thinner, was wondering if there is any truth behind that. Thanks for help.
Avatar f tn She has had 2 in the past year and has taken a blood thinner to shrink them. Her leg is getting sore again, and she is wondering if there is another blood clot forming and if it could be caused from the chemo. Thank you for taking the time to read and answer my questions. I appreciate it!!!
Avatar m tn Have your doctor order blood work to determine the thickness of your blood. You may need to take a blood thinner.
