168348 tn?1379357075 Thank you both for your comments. Christy, at the same time of this *pesky* virus I was on two diff. types of antibiotics for a bad urinary tract infection (Levaquin for 10 days and then Bactrim for 10 days) and now I am cured of the UTI and left with this so probably the virus/infection did a # on the stomach, too, and there is inflammation I bet. Stella, I was taking the Acidophillus during the 3 weeks of antibiotic therapy and stopped so I will begin it again and have plenty in the house!
Avatar f tn I now have a sudden swelling around the fibula side were they put the plate and 6 screws. It is the size of a small egg and is tender to the touch. I have taken two days worth of meloxecam or mobic. The swelling is down some but it is still tender to the touch. Could this be the beginning of rejection?
Avatar m tn I had been told the incision would be only about 6 inches but when he got in there the cyst had grown to 7 inches so the incision was 12 inches and had a bone growing in it pressing on my spinal cord. My surgery was 3 weeks ago and I still have all the symptoms I had before. My question is, can I expect any relief as time goes on?
Avatar m tn my question is, if you can remember, did you feel the vein after your surgery, if you did, did it fade away? or was the vein gone after surgery and did your scrotum look normal right away. please give me a time frame on what to expect. thanks. i wont be hearing from my doc until next week and i want answers from people who went through the same surgery. thanks!
Avatar f tn He also stated that I did have a significant amount of arthritis in my spine. He put me on Mobic 15 mg 1 x day and told me to continue to take the pain medication. And there was really nothing else at this point he could do for me. He told me to continue the mobic for the next 3 months and see if that provided any relief. If my symptoms worsened then to call him.
Avatar n tn I was taking Ibuprofen for years and the pain in my knees was intollerable and I was confined to a wheel chair. About a year ago I started taking 1400 IU of Vitamin D and stopped the ibuprofen totally, my arthritis was doing MUCH better, even started taking short walks, however, recently, I had an injury and started taking Ibuprofen.....now my knees hurt all the time. Can Ibuprofen deplete vitamin D?
Avatar n tn My mama used to take Mobic and it helped her back alot. Unfortunately for her, it upset her stomach so she quit taking it with no side effects following. Best wishes.
Avatar n tn My provider told me I have a little of Osteo arthritis and has prescribed me Mobic for the pain. Now, since like a month ago, I have been feeling like big pulses on my legs, buttock, arms, neck, face, back and stomack at times. It does not last too long but, i do have then through out the whole day. It is somewhat worrying me. Does anyone know why this is happening or what lab test can I get done?
Avatar f tn I was on Mobic for a year or so and never had any issues besides stomach pain (which any NSAID's can cause) I get stomach pain with any NSAID's. Mobic wasn't really that affective for me but my insurance made me try practically every NSAID on the market before they would approve Celebrex. They denied Celebrex and even recommended a PPI (ulcer med) to take with the NSAID's because they didn't want to pay for Celebrex.

Avatar f tn Today a Doctor gave me a script for Mobic, for wrist pain that I have had for the past month from repative work,my Urate levels are at 52 just over limit.Im on Asprin and fluid tablets which can raise these levels. A specialist doctor I saw says it is gout I don't believe it is...I'm unsure about taking the Mobic though for my wrist ??
Avatar m tn Yes you can take Mobic with a narcotic pain med. Mobic is a NSAID, and has the same risks as other NSAIDS. In high doses it can cause some kidney issues, the vicodin has tylenol in it and can cause some liver issues in high doses. But they are safe to take together. Typically what you want to watch for is multiple NSAIDS, or Multiple meds with tylenol.
Avatar m tn m already a member of the Anxiety and Depression forums. After two months, almost, of tests and seeing various doctors and specialist, I've been diagnosed with Osteo Arthritis in the lower back and right hip. For this I've been prescribed Meloxicam/Mobic for the pain and inflamation. The data sheet that came with the prescription details some pretty nasty potential side effects. I normally don't have too much trouble with meds but this stuff is potent.
Avatar m tn One doctor I went to said to wait 9 months to see if it goes away as he was hesitate on performing surgery as the cyst is attached to my tendon. It has been 9 months and still pain so now I am going to a surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC.
Avatar f tn I take lisinopril myself for HBP and have done so for decades. I've never used naproxen except maybe once or twice. One Rx that might possibly be of benefit for arthritis instead of naproxen is meloxicam, also known as Mobic. I use it occasionally with no ill effects to report.
Avatar m tn I heard your body eventually will become inmune to the shots and I will still have to go for the surgery. I have also done some research and I hate all the possible side effects from these shots. I started taking Tramadol, gabetin, mobic, and mentholcarbanol, these pills really are not good for my stomach. I already have reflux and lots of heartburn and even though I take Dexilant for my stomach I just couldn't take them anymore.....Thanks for you reply...
Avatar m tn Hello and hope you are doing well. The inactive ingredients in Meloxicam (MOBIC) tablets include colloidal silicon dioxide, crospovidone, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, and sodium citrate dihydrate. So, the sodium content should be in very minute quantities. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn I've taken Mobic and Hydrosil as prescribed by my doctor because of my right knee discomfort last month. I immediately stop taken it after my right foot started to numb and tingling the next day. The problem still exist and it has been one month already. Why is it like this? Also, I've been taking Vitamin B complex supplement from that day onwards and it seems not working until today.
Avatar f tn i am using Mobic on and off for pain. But due to swelling i am not able to make a fist. i have pain on the edges of the palm.
5082295 tn?1371250911 I just started Mobic (meloxicam) a few days ago and they say I should work fast. Im taking one 7.5 tab a day for Piriformis syndrome which is a disorder that occurs when the sciatic nerve is compressed or otherwise irritated by the piriformis muscle. I really don't see any difference in my pain level at all, I had more help w ibphrofen, should I take that right now too? could I increase the dose till I talk to my doc on Monday or should I give it more time to work?
1283286 tn?1312911966 I've had several nerve root blocks as well as epidural injections. Some worked for awhile and some not at all. There are several different kinds of injections such as facet joints, nerve blocks, and even a chemical that sort of burns the nerve ends. After a double cervical fusion and a triple bilateral lumbar fusion, I am back to getting more injections. (I actually have a sacroiliac steriod injection tomorrow.) I am also taking gabapentin, mobic and flexeril.
Avatar m tn The neurologist, last year, had told me to do PT and go to pain management. The shoulder doctor thought shots would help or I could have surgery but said that many people have a tear on MRI that is nonsymptomatic and frankly it didn't help the last time. I am quite confused that the pain management doctor gave me the answer he did. Do the areas with stenosis or facet/degeneration cause problems with shoulders or biceps?
Avatar f tn Hi, I have been suffering from feet pain. Nothing caused it, I just woke up in the morning, feel a little hurt around my ankle, then every time I walk or stand up long, my feet hurt a lot, they are getting worse, stiff and swelling. I went to the chiropractor, took the X-ray but there is nothing wrong. I also went to an acupuncturist, but nothing change.
1044813 tn?1370494406 Sure, we can add Mobic/Meloxicam to the Pain Tracker for you. In the meantime, please use NSAIDs, since meloxicam is a type of NSAID and this is already available on the tracker.
