Common Questions and Answers about Mobic and kidney

mobic

Avatar m tn Yes you can take Mobic with a narcotic pain med. Mobic is a NSAID, and has the same risks as other NSAIDS. In high doses it can cause some kidney issues, the vicodin has tylenol in it and can cause some liver issues in high doses. But they are safe to take together. Typically what you want to watch for is multiple NSAIDS, or Multiple meds with tylenol.
168348 tn?1379357075 Hi, I ask this question because both a member on the Arthritis Community, and myself have seen a corelation between taking NSAID for arthritis and depletion of Vit D ... is this just coincidence or is there a possible connection?
493368 tn?1209757681 Mobic 15mgs has worked very well for my severe ankle tibial tendonitis and moderate arthritis coupled with physical therapy which helped restore my range of motion which was 60% lost at the time of therapy. However, the tendonitis can not be helped any furthe (I wear orthotics _ high top sneakrs and a splint brace to sleep at night) The mobic helps the arthritis alot for me & I've been on it 1.5yrs with normal blood labs.

401370 tn?1233324682 I am on Mobic NSAID prescription and need to have bloodwork done ev. 3 mos for kidney function, and am told to be aware of any acid reflux indicators as a side effect not to brush off lightly while on NSAID's.
168348 tn?1379357075 , to be certain no other damage done by taking this darn Mobic for over a year now .. kidney panel bloodwork is fine on the Mobic but it can cause GI Bleed, etc. w/o warning so it may be doing a # on my stomach .. the Orthopedist is the one who scripted the Mobic but my Prim. Doc should be the one to figure out the side effect given my other meds, too, etc.
168348 tn?1379357075 Had comprehensive appt with my Dr today and had an ultrasound done of upper abdomen which was normal except showed all the gallstones still there .... but that was not a surprise ..
Avatar f tn t so I am not waiting on a consult for a 3rd neuro doc but I am not thinking of just asking my IM doc to refer me to a rheumy instead because I honestly think this is what i have. I am on mobic and if I dont take that I feel so much worse. I know I have arthritis in my hips back wrist shoulders knees, so I am certain what I am feeling is this.
Avatar n tn I was taking Ibuprofen for years and the pain in my knees was intollerable and I was confined to a wheel chair. About a year ago I started taking 1400 IU of Vitamin D and stopped the ibuprofen totally, my arthritis was doing MUCH better, even started taking short walks, however, recently, I had an injury and started taking Ibuprofen.....now my knees hurt all the time. Can Ibuprofen deplete vitamin D?
Avatar n tn My mama used to take Mobic and it helped her back alot. Unfortunately for her, it upset her stomach so she quit taking it with no side effects following. Best wishes.
Avatar n tn My provider told me I have a little of Osteo arthritis and has prescribed me Mobic for the pain. Now, since like a month ago, I have been feeling like big pulses on my legs, buttock, arms, neck, face, back and stomack at times. It does not last too long but, i do have then through out the whole day. It is somewhat worrying me. Does anyone know why this is happening or what lab test can I get done?
Avatar f tn I was on Mobic for a year or so and never had any issues besides stomach pain (which any NSAID's can cause) I get stomach pain with any NSAID's. Mobic wasn't really that affective for me but my insurance made me try practically every NSAID on the market before they would approve Celebrex. They denied Celebrex and even recommended a PPI (ulcer med) to take with the NSAID's because they didn't want to pay for Celebrex.
1311475 tn?1274198780 I am having withdrawal symptoms from all of the medications that I take, I mean everything even a laxative. As soon as I take it I have sweating, chills, leg cramps, and body jerking ( like restless legs but all over) right now I am at 60 mg of methadone, I am supposed to take .05 mg of clonazapam 4 times a day for anxiety. My new Dr.
Avatar m tn I am also on other medications, Seroquel XR 500mg, Sodium Valproate 400mg BD, Nexium 40mg, Prednisolone 50mg, Mobic 15mg and quite a few supplements. I also am currently seeing a Nephrologist every couple of months regarding this issue, he has not completed any tests (all tests were conducted by or under authorisation from my GP and psychiatrist) who was also worried about my BP. At times i have palpitations and extreme crushing chest pain...
Avatar f tn Today a Doctor gave me a script for Mobic, for wrist pain that I have had for the past month from repative work,my Urate levels are at 52 just over limit.Im on Asprin and fluid tablets which can raise these levels. A specialist doctor I saw says it is gout I don't believe it is...I'm unsure about taking the Mobic though for my wrist ??
Avatar m tn m already a member of the Anxiety and Depression forums. After two months, almost, of tests and seeing various doctors and specialist, I've been diagnosed with Osteo Arthritis in the lower back and right hip. For this I've been prescribed Meloxicam/Mobic for the pain and inflamation. The data sheet that came with the prescription details some pretty nasty potential side effects. I normally don't have too much trouble with meds but this stuff is potent.
Avatar f tn I take lisinopril myself for HBP and have done so for decades. I've never used naproxen except maybe once or twice. One Rx that might possibly be of benefit for arthritis instead of naproxen is meloxicam, also known as Mobic. I use it occasionally with no ill effects to report.
168348 tn?1379357075 Maybe the Mexican food and the alcohol came together to cause your symptoms. When acid leaks up into the throat, it can cause spasming of your vocal folds. Since it only happened once, you don't need to be too alarmed. But it it happens repeatedly, you should see your doctor. You also have to realize that acid suppression medications don't prevent acid from coming up.
Avatar m tn Hello and hope you are doing well. The inactive ingredients in Meloxicam (MOBIC) tablets include colloidal silicon dioxide, crospovidone, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, and sodium citrate dihydrate. So, the sodium content should be in very minute quantities. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn I've taken Mobic and Hydrosil as prescribed by my doctor because of my right knee discomfort last month. I immediately stop taken it after my right foot started to numb and tingling the next day. The problem still exist and it has been one month already. Why is it like this? Also, I've been taking Vitamin B complex supplement from that day onwards and it seems not working until today.
Avatar f tn i am using Mobic on and off for pain. But due to swelling i am not able to make a fist. i have pain on the edges of the palm.
1044813 tn?1370494406 Sure, we can add Mobic/Meloxicam to the Pain Tracker for you. In the meantime, please use NSAIDs, since meloxicam is a type of NSAID and this is already available on the tracker.
Avatar f tn I also had pain under the rib area into the back, and also off and on in the lower rib area to back. I have had a kidney stone several years ago, and was told I should pass it. I don't think I ever did, so wonder if that could cause it. My doctor didnt have a answer, and just said to stop the Mobic for a week and take Aleve. I have'nt had it as much but every once in awhile I do again. I don't know what to think or do, any suggestions?
Avatar f tn I work for an Ortho Surgeon who specializes in knee and hip replacements and also sees a lot of patients with severe arthritis, he does use Mobic alot but also uses the Arthrotec. Find a good dr. and get some definitive answers then proceed from there as far as what medications will help you. Keep us posted and welcome to the forum.
Avatar f tn I was just prescribed mobic and I just wondered if it's afdictive
Avatar m tn In 2007, I had CT of abdomen and pelvis, becuz I had kidney stones. So, I will get that copy and try to look for any spur at that time (there is no reference in the report to L5 problem). I am bummed becuz I thought I was doing great, and now this happens. I AM going to get a second op, but by whom????? I have read some seek acupuncture, P/T, or a Rhemeutory Arthristis doc. Does anyone think HCV and/or the treatment is linked to Ankylosis Spondylitis? All comments are appreciated.
