Mircette migraines

Common Questions and Answers about Mircette migraines

mircette

Avatar m tn ve been told that its 1mg of norethindrone is still pretty androgenic especially for those who already have an imbalance. Would Mircette be an option with desogestrel being less angrogenic? Also, any experience with prescribed HALF tab of OC? (ie. instead of Loestrin 1/20.. use 0.5/10 for hormonal imbalance?) Just concerned about initial breakout. Just some background... I have not used OC previously.
Avatar m tn For the past 10 days I have had light brown discharge non-stop, bloating, and bad stomach cramps. I was on Azurette birth control for about a year and then I switched to Mircette(this is my first pack); so I was wondering if the switch could have anything to do with it even though they are basically the same birth control. I am due for my period on Tuesday the 29th. I am very confused as to why this is happening so I'm wondering if you have any ideas or explanations!
525501 tn?1212432217 By the way, I've been taking mircette but I'm probably going to start something else because it is very expensive.
405614 tn?1329144114 I had maybe 5 migraines until my mid-thirties, then started getting menstrual migraines every few months. I started taking Premarin on my placebo days on my Mircette , and no more migraines, well maybe a few, but not many. I saw an ophthamologist on the 18th; he said my optic nerves looked very healthy, and that the floaters that suddenly appeared were most likely from the pressure change from the LP and CSF leak.
Avatar f tn I work in the medical field yet I have been blind to my own symptoms. I am 47 and on Mircette for birth control and as a prophylactic for migraines - so I do not have a period. For the past three months or so I have been waking at 3am (despite 100 mg Trazadone that had been working fairly for several years) soaked in sweat. Sorry for the run-on sentence. Anyway, I attributed this to stress and a worsening of my Anxiety NOS.
Avatar f tn ve been on Mircette (a.k.a Kariva). Before I started Mircette I stopped my pills about 3 days before I was supposed to right before I was to start my cycle. Anyway, long story short, with this pill all I've had are bad gas and gas pains, some cramping but other than that I don't feel like I'm on bcp. Well yesterday I was supposed to have my period but when I thought it was here, I had mucus like cm and then some pinkish brownish discharge with it.
Avatar f tn I have just gone through a similar situation. I stopped taking Mircette on 6/4. Since then I've had all kinds of stomach cramps, pinches, nausea, REALLY SORE BOOBS, and all other stuff you would expect from PMS or possible pregnancy. AF showed exactly 4 weeks after I took my last pill. My body was getting back to pre-bcp body. Your body is going through that same thing in my opinion.
Avatar f tn I decided to get off BCPs and since, have been feeling awful. I am back on the pill (continuous Mircette), but still do not feel well. I would love to find an endo specialist/surgeon in the Washington DC/Maryland/Virginia area to get the endo excised. I am tired of feeling so awful. I would love to travel to a specialty center, but I have 3 young children and a part-time job. Thank you so much!!
Avatar f tn Also taking birth control (Mircette) continuously for period suppression (ie, only 4 periods a year -- 3 months of active pills followed by a one week break.) I am having trouble interpreting my latest labs with my thyroid and sex hormones... Sex Hormone Binding Globulin - 306 (high) Testosterone, Free - 1 (low) Testosterone, Free Percent - .3 (low) Testosterone, Total - 41 T3 - 229 (high) Thyroxine, Free - 1.5 TSH - 1.22 How is it that my T3 is elevated and the other be fine?
Avatar f tn Hi, are you on birth control? I was on Mircette to regulate my cycle and because it wasn't "strong enough" I spotted mid cycle. I also spotted on the Depo shot so it could be birth control. You are not pregnant from giving a hand job.. unless you took the semen and inserted it into your vagina which I doubt you did. If you did have sex and just don't want to say.. then you could be pregnant and the spotting could be implantation bleeding.
Avatar f tn I think they're confused. If you read the full prescribing information, it's the PILL that screws with the lamotrigine, not the other way around. It's not like a lot of other anticonvulsants. From http://epilepsy.med.nyu.edu/treatment/medications/lamotrigine "Lamotrigine has no effect on other seizure medicines. And unlike some other seizure medicines, it does not reduce the effectiveness of birth control pills.
Avatar f tn I am 11wks pregnant (first time mom) and luckily I haven't had any morning sickness, however I do have TERRIBLE migraines (which I suffered from before becoming pregnant) does anyone know of any natural remedies because Tylenol doesn't do anything at all
Avatar n tn I wouldn't worry. I've been diagnosed with the same thing. I've had headaches constantly for the last 7 years or so (everyday). I've seen a doctor and he has put me on Inderal. It's blood pressure tablets and it works wonders. Go ask your doctor about it. I've also been advised by nurses that magnesium (the vitamin) tablets works well too. Pins and needles is something I've never experienced but if your doctor isn't worried, don't stress.
1972385 tn?1343827076 Keep some bananas around because the potassium helps with migraines. Also monitor your salt intake. Another cause of migraines is high blood pressure, so if you have anymore, that is something to be checked. As for smells........prior to tx, I wasn't crazy about the smell of meat. But during tx, meat smells truly became unbearable and sent me running from the room. Certain co-workers, instead of going to the lunchroom, would eat what smelled like a whole dead cow -- at their desks.
Avatar n tn Has anybody found relief from migraines? I've tried everything from herbs to Imitrex. Started having rebound headaches with the imitrex and hated taking it anyway.
Avatar f tn Anybody else having horrible migraines?!! They are awful. I'm on medication for them but it doesn't seem to be helping.
Avatar f tn I've had migraines like that before but because I was pregnant. I know headaches can be caused by pregnancy because of the high hormone levels changing. I don't know what you can take now that your preg but nothing used to work for me and I would just have to sleep it off!! Feel better!!
Avatar f tn Migraines have been a huge problem for me for most of my life, and the best thing I've found non medication wise, is to lay down in the most comfortable position you can find in a dark room, and listen to relaxing nature sounds on a very low volume(thunderstorms are my personal favorite), and stay hydrated. I've found its better to drink water that's cool, but not ice cold. If anyone is around, see if they'll very gently massage your scalp as well. I hope this helps!
Avatar f tn I am 14w1d and I have been getting severe migraines for the past several weeks. They last 3 to 4 days. Some o the most severe ones have even bruised the side of my head. I saw the doc yesterday and she prescribed migraine meds. I woke up this morning around 3am with another migraine. This time however, I have been vomiting blood. Should I go back to the doc? Has anyone had migraines this severe during pregnancy before?
Avatar f tn Does anyone suffer from really bad migraines ??? I've had a migraine for over a week now and my head feels like it's going to explode its brutal. I'm currently 27 + 5 days along. Also suffering from heartburn....do you have any suggestions on how you handle yours ??
Avatar f tn I have had a ton of headaches too. My ob put me on a migrane medicine called fioricet. My rowers were everything. Make sure you stay nice and hydrated, and eat a banana and drink a soda. Sprints lack of caffeine in your diet can trigger it. Not just soda tea and coffee have caffine. Good luck to you! FEEL BETTER SOON!
Avatar f tn I'm currently 17 weeks.. and have been dealing with the worst migraines... and it's at the point where I can't even get up cause it hurts, and I get dizzy. I refuse to take Tylenol. I've been using essential oils.. cause it really does help. But any of you mommas dealt with this? I'm gonna let my doctor know when I see him.
Avatar n tn I do. Tylenol. Some caffeine if I have it (not a regular drinker) and a warm bath with ice on my neck and face in the dark usually cures it.
Avatar f tn Any suggestions for dealing with migraines? I'm 8 weeks and they are becoming more frequent.
Avatar f tn I know your not supposed to take Excedrin for Migraines which I took before I got pregnant but twice during this pregnancy I took half a pill and it helped me. There's not much else that helps. There may be something your doctor can prescribe that's safe but Idk what else helps. Hope you feel better.
Avatar f tn I am 12weeks and 4days along, and have very bad migraines. I was on meds for it before I got pregnant, but can't take it now. Does anyone have any advice as to what I can do about the migraines?
