mirapex

398059 tn?1447945633 Then no reading in bed for at least an hour before sleep. No lights on in the house for the hour before ( this works for me ) I was told it's really a half before bed.. to start calming ones environment down . NO caffeine after noon time ..very important for me.. They say a warm bath an hour or two before bed because it will lower your body temp. by bedtime , which is conducive to zzzz. But watch it if you have MS , not too hot .. Also lower the house temp. for sleep. Add a blanket.
410281 tn?1254229064 It's possible. Sleep deprivation causes a generalized nervous system excitability which can manifest in various muscle twitches and spasms. Mirapex (which is also used for Parkinson's) acts in your central nervous system to control your nervous system problems. Did you ever treat your sleep apnea? And if so, how was it treated?
1200450 tn?1317496867 Have any of you ever had issues falling asleep while on the mirapex? I find that once I do get to sleep it helps me stay asleep better. But for some reason the mirapex gives me anxiety and makes it harder for me to get to sleep. I spend up to 2 hours just trying to fall asleep. I even tried adding over the counter sleeping pills with it but still find it difficult to get to sleep.
1390101 tn?1281000559 I was on mirapex for 3 years, my miracle drug, for my RLS during that period I develop a gambling addiction. I find out that this is a side of the mirapex. For the sake of my self and the loss od my my family I choose to get off of it.I It took me 2 trys to get off of them and have suceeded. I no long have the urge to gamble. ,Now I am on simumet for my RLS and it does not work like the mirapex , I wake up in the middle of the night and can't go to sleep.
1154672 tn?1262222616 I have severe Restless leg Syndrome. I have been on Mirapex for about 6 years now, and never had a problem. I am unemployed now, and do not have any health insurance. My doctor has been great to give me samples, however; they are out of them right now. My doctor tried giving me clonazepam 1 mg 2 nights ago, I walked the floors and tossed and turned all night. I called my doctor, and she said to increase my clonazepam to 2mg before bed.
Avatar n tn t know about the Monavie but what I take and is wonderful is Mirapex. I take it 3 times a day and have no restless legs unless I skip a dose or run out and then the RLS returns. I hope this has helped.
Avatar n tn This has kept the RLS under control but about 7pm has sent me to sleep - most inconvenient for evening meetings! Today my specialist put me on Gabapentin - 100mg twice a day for one week, increasing by 100mg per dose per week up to 600mg in the sixth week. I have therefore stopped the Ropinerole. What I forget to ask is what time of day/night it is best to take the Gabapentin capsules. My RLS is (was) bad in the evenings & through the night.
Avatar f tn I loose a lot of sleep. I get in day and night. My arms even jerk and have that restless feeling. Mirapex is taken twice a day and don't help. No drs will address it and I'm miserable . Is this a lack of a vitamin or mineral. Do I ever get rid of them?
Avatar f tn But waht i wanted to comment was something i read here from a poster about some meds for RLS... mirapex and requip... it seems they increase the dopamine levels with some side effects not to get overlooked by someone with addiction issues... The poster shared her experience with mirapex of getting addicted to gambling. It can happen. She even left a link of a documental made in Canada about this terrible effect of mirapex.

487070 tn?1313665952 Sinemet, Mirapex, Requip and Neurontin. All helped for a while but needed increasing doses and the side effects and augmentation became intolerable. I now use a TENS Unit before bedtime, and it has done as well for me as the meds after their initial usefulness waned. I was on so many meds that made me nauseous I wasn't sure which caused what. But I puked a lot for a while. Somehow I guess I became more tolerant because it did nearly stop. Maybe your body will adjust too.
Avatar m tn I was put on Mirapex before the drugs. It worked real well. You might try Magnesium supplement before asking Dr for the Mirapex. I feel your pain.
Avatar f tn Mirapex is amazing for RLS. Also yes a heating pad on your lower back does wonders. Your three days in. I'm twenty. The last three nights I haven't used mirapex or a heating pad. It's awesome! Stay strong. Just think, you really wanna go through everything again?
Avatar f tn Look up something called Periodic Limb Movement Disorder, I have it as I had a sleep study done as I was always tired during the day. They gave me Mirapex, which is used for Restless Leg. Have you ever had a sleep study before?
1182133 tn?1266851531 s 0436, day 7 no vics and I did sleep about 6 hours, but I take 1mg klonopin every night for fibro and I take mirapex for RLS -- the vicodin also helps with RLS but the mirapex works better I promise...I get it in my legs, hips and arms and I just want to scream.......see if you can get some samples of that or requip bcuz even with insurance they are expensive. You can get through it - it will get better, oh, just remembered...mirapex.
Avatar f tn I was told to take it 3 times a day but I also get very groggy. I also take Mirapex for restless legs(he upped my dose of this) but none of it completely takes away the spasms,& I still don't sleep all night. If you find a magic cure please let me know, I would love some rest!!! For some reason the increased dose of Mirapex has helped, do you take this also?
Avatar m tn I think the one you are thinking about is called Hylands and it is a supplement.

10905573 tn?1436924423 I tried but ended up taking a half a pill (doctor said this is ok to try to wean myself off). Is there anything I can take for it so I can sleep?!?!
Avatar n tn my mother has extreme leg cramps at nights this started 5 years ago she could not sleep at nights because of the pain.she took all kinds of pain killers then took mirapex nothing would help for years. 4 years ago because of the pain and the sleeplesness she fell on her back and broke her neck she was in a halo for 3 months still the leg pains continued. the next year she fell again and was giadnosed with progressive supra nuclear palsy she is now in a nursing home.
462570 tn?1273632977 My doc just prescribed Mirapex for me. And it helps a great deal. It stimulates the D1, D2, D3 and D4 dopamine receptors. It is an agonist and most especially hits the D4. It really helps the pain but I'm not sure if that is because it relaxs me or if it is actually correcting a deficiency in the dopamine levels that is causing the fibro. It also stimulates something that makes me dream vividly and sleep very lightly (of course, if you dream all night long - you are sleeping lightly!
405614 tn?1329144114 I am looking for SOMETHING to get a handle on this unpleasant condition. It really inteferes with sleep, as you know. It's not usual now that it affects my arms, for me to pop my sweetheart in the face, during one of my "episodes." Poor guy, here he is sound asleep and my arms are jerking all over the place and wham, he gets it right in the kisser.
Avatar n tn I'm on .25mg of Mirapex for RLS and am gaining weight. Has anyone else experienced this. Any idea as to why. Suggestions? Thanks!
