The doctor gave me Metronidazole pills to take to treat Trich and should told me i couldnt have any alcohol 3 days before and after takin the pills including the alcohol in mouthwash bc it was cause a bad stomach ache. i was also wondering if this included my toothpaste which has mouthwash beads? Or is regular toothpaste better or not good either?

The adverse effects from minocycline hydrochloride treatment are uncommon, but there are few reported cases of hyperpigmentation as a side effect of its use. The cutaneous hyperpigmentation usually resolves after cessation of the drug. Tooth discoloration, however, generally remains. Pigmentation associated with minocycline most often appears in patients after long-term therapy, usually at doses greater than 100 mg per day.
There are many antibiotics and most have side effects that can be really bad. A lot of drugs on line are not even at the dose they say they are. Also, only some bacteria are sensitive to mnocycline or a particular antibiotic . You can't just take an antibiotic and expect it to work unless you know what bacteria you have and which antibiotics work for it and if that particular strain is resistant to start with.
Started Minocycline 100mg 2x per day for suspected neuro Lyme and feel horrible. I know herx is possible, but feel more like I'm experiencing side effects, and wondering if I should switch abx.
How long should I stick with this?

I had to stop taking Mirtazapine last night as the side-effects I was getting from it are apparently rare and will not go away. I have already taken Citalopram, Sertraline and Mirtazapine for my anxiety but didn't get on with them. I have a phone appointment with my GP this evening and would feel better knowing I had an idea what medication might work best for me. I don't want to take Prozac or anything that will make sick/vomit, dizzy or mimic other anxiety symptoms.

I have stopped using the Triamcinolone Cream two months ago because of the side effects such as periorbital dermatitis.. What are the common causes of a Papular Rash? I have been on Minocycline for coming up 9 years now and i'm currently down to one 50mg pill a day to control my acne, my question is what effects does it have on my cognitive ability and memory over such a long period of time.

Does she take "acutaine" (spelling) I seem to recall it being hepatotoxic - look at the side effects list if she does - it could explain the problem - and then you can weight the risk vs benefit. At the risk of sounding like a health food wacko (which I assuredly am not) I have seen acne clear up with cutting out most fried and fast food - and drinking lots of fresh juice (not canned or bottled) and lots of water..
I've been taking mino for two weeks. My dermatologist prescribed it to me for my severe acne. Lately I started having an allergic reaction. My scalp, my palms in my hands, feet and my body started itching really bad. I feel like ants all over my body. I stopped now and took benadryl pills and it helped. So now, what am I going to do now to help fix my acne?! I don't like Accutane either coz I read bad side effects. Any suggestions? Thanks for the advice.
