1min and they both left the room w/o even saying a word to me! My Dr came back alone with a prescription for Metronidazole, but no diagnosis. The 1st Dr still thinks it is Herpes, the 2nd Dr wanted me to try the antibiotic cream, but I never got to say a word to him so I don't know if he just did it to appease me or if he truly thinks I need it? Now I have used the Metronidazole for a week and I don't think that my condition has really changed much.
I have been using hydrocortisone 1% fairly regularly, on my face, for almost 2 years. About 3 months ago my face went a little red, and after using some hydrocortisone for a couple of weeks my skin returned to normal. However, three weeks ago my skin started to redden again, and i went to see the doctor. I got given just some metronidazole cream and told to apply this twice a day. A few days later though and my face was more red, dry, very hot and my eyelids had began to swell up.

I broke out in a rash on my face in April. It seems to be spreading... It's burning and itching. My allergies have been pretty bad lately so I've been taking Zyrtec. I'm wondering if this is a reaction to the Zyrtec or if the Zyrtec helps it calm down. It does calm down then "flare" back up. It's starting to look horrible. I've never had skin problems and Im embarrassed to go in public. Doctor doesn't seem to know exactly what it is.
I visited the doctor Monday with a vaginal infection and was given Metronidazole to start taking. I went back for results Wednesday and I was confirmed to have BV. My doctor then gave me Erythromycin to take (2, twice a day)... as well as the Metronidazole (3, three times a day). This seems like an awful lot of antibiotics. Why was I given Erythromycin, when from as far as I can tell, Metronidazole alone is the recommended treatment for BV?

I'm an 18 year old male and I have had a reoccurring face rash for 6 years. The rash is typically on my upper cheeks, 1/2 and inch or so below my bottom lip, sometimes and my jaw, and sometimes on my forehead. It seems to be triggered by almost everything. If I ever sleep anywhere other than my house I will surely get it. I also get it from swimming, being in nature (mountain biking and hiking). Being in the sun irritates it. Water makes my skin feel constricted.
Try clindamycin +metronidazole for 5days. You may need to request your oral surgeon to prescribe for you. If this antibiotic regimen Does not resolve your problem, you may need to see a neurologist.
at first i didnt bother it but after my medication in soar throat and allergy(urcatitaria), my vagina started to became itchy and again, everyday i started having green discharged for `1 week. i went to a gynecologist and she prescribed me a metronidazole miconazole vaginal suppository and ive used that for `1 week.. now what my problem is, my white discharge had stop.. i am also currently taking up medice for my UTI and had experiexed sex but that was like long time ago...
Metronidazole can cause diarrhea as a side effect. But it may be also working on the infective cause of your dog's illness in the first place, so don't stop it without speaking to your vet.
Meanwhile keep your dog hydrated. If you can find an unflavoured electrolyte drink like Pedialyte that would be great. Plain water would do for a short time but Pedialyte would be better.
My heart beat is erratic most of the time anyway but when I tried taking flagyl for campylobacter, it didn't affect my heart at all. I just got extremely sick and intestinal issues worsened. They had to switch me.
For the past ten days I have been taking Metronidazole (Two 250mg oral tablets, twice daily).
I took my last pills lastnight around 10:30 pm.
My question is, would it be okay for me to consume alcohol on Saturday night?
I know my pharmacist told me to absolutely stay away from alcohol while I was taking the pills because I would vomit alot, and he said most people wait a couple of days after they've finished before they drink. Im just wondering if two days is enough time?
I had to take it last week for 5 days. Everything is great with baby. It does say that there is no harm to take it however I understand your concern. I'm 27w 5d I'm sure I would've been me hesitant at 6 weeks.
I went to several different doctors and they all told me I have Peri oral Dermatitis. I was prescribed Metronidazole at first and with no luck. The dryness slowly got worse and the red spots were not going away. I used Phisioderm to wash my wash my face and the dryness disappeared in a few days but then came back just as quick.
After seeing a dermatologist he prescribed me Doxycycline for 1 month and an ointment made of Clindamycin 2%, HC 1% in 80% h20 and 20% isopropanol.
Hi guys,i seen some peoples on this forum that got rid off patm with Flagyl(Metronidazole), have you tried this? Would be nice to hear some oppinions about it from peoples who actually used it.
I have a red rash/cluster of blemishes on my chin that has extended up my cheek and under my chin. They are not itchy or painful, just unsightly. It has been present for a couple of months now. I have tried everything to get rid of them--zit cream, tea tree oil, Metronidazole cream, homeopathic rosacea gel, eczema cream, Desitin, and calamine lotion. Nothing seems to help. I did not change my makeup, laundry detergent, or skin care products before it began. I have fair, sensitive skin as well.
My dog was throwing up (looked like human food- I hve no idea where he got it from) and having diarrhea. The vet gave him amforol among penicillin and steroid injection. We took x-rays and the vet said he had imflammatory bowel disease. Since then he's stopped vomitting but still having diarrhea. Now he's on metronidazole. I've read around that metro will help only temporary and that it could cause liver damage.
Has anyone had this problem and will metronidazole fix his problem?
