Avatar m tn They give patients strong antibiotics such vancomycin, metronidazole or something of that sort. This is done 4 days before the operation. About 24 hours before the FMT, the antibiotic dosage needs to stop. You need to check FMT pdf manuals for the details on this. The patient is then injected with the fecal sample mixed in saline solution. This newly super probiotic is introduced into a gut that has very few competitors since it’s been wiped out by antibiotics on previous 4 days.
Avatar f tn Burrascano's protocol which is published on the web and very helpful to read through), is that 1 antibiotic 2X per day is a very very low dosage. I am on 4 different ABX and I take 3 of them....2Xper day for 3 weeks then off a week, ON 3 weeks then OFF a week. I have to do this for 6+ months. I have a a herx already and expect more. But IV ABX are extremely expensive.
Avatar f tn We have owned five dogs and all, but one, have had extreme heart issues. Recently, we just put down one of our younger dogs from CHF. The other dog we have now has gone through the exact same issues you are facing. She has an extremely enlarged heart. She was taking two different heart meds 3x's daily and was throwing up, dragging around and lost close to 8 pounds. She also has issues with stones and had three surgeries to stop the infections.
Avatar f tn I believe the next step is treating the bacteria that live on the mites. I've read that oral metronidazole works. Unfortunately, that requires a prescription. But maybe with a diagnosis of folliculitis, a doctor would prescribe some antifungal medication. I'm betting the longer a person has been battling this, an oral medication may be the only thing to work against the fungus that feeds the mite and the bacteria that keeps the mite healthy.
Avatar n tn If you have bv, your doctor will prescribe metronidazole (Flagyl, Protostat). This medication is taken by mouth. There are other medicines that may be taken by mouth for this infection, such as clindamycin (Cleocin), and there are also vaginal creams and gels. You will not be able to drink or have sex for a week. while on these meds. I know that can suck sometimes though. Your partner does not need to be treated because BV has not been proven to be a sexually transmitted infection.
Avatar n tn I'm thankful that after my synthroid dosage was increased to 150 mcg a day, the hives have stopped. I need to write my allergist a letter letting him know what if he gets another patient like myself, that he should suspect a thyroid issue before he just writes her off... So even if you aren't a hyroid patient, if you suggest to your doctor that he/she could run a quick (relatively) cheap test to see if your hives are autoimmune related...maybe you'll find some relief?
Avatar n tn chances are your std was not cured fully and has returned.( diflucan ) is also almost useless in a single dosage, i was given it 3 times at a single dose on 3 different occasions. For me it healed it slightly but it returned within 2-3 weeks. after having a yeast infection for roughly 3months straight i went to a different docter who prescribed it to me again. 1 pill for 3 days in a row then 1 a week for a month. this healed my infection.
Avatar n tn The dermatologist also said I am not to take that ever again. Another dosage could cause a reaction that can prove fatal. And I was supposed to take another two pills today of Albendazole today to finish the course. I'm not sure why the primary doctor prescribed it in the first place. She never believed I had worms, and even when I brought my microscope in for her to see the scotch tape samples, she didn't see anything. We were also waiting for the stool analysis, which came back negative.
Avatar n tn Once the itching ceases, she recommended I apply topical estrogen to seal the wounds. I asked her if I should move to a different bc, one with a lower hormone dosage and she said quite the contrary, that she would actually recommend a higher dosage. I then asked if she recommended any other form of bc and she suggested I try the bc ring.
Avatar f tn but recently I found out If I squeeze them with tweezers they push out but another one forms behind it.. So over and over I'm squeezing them with tweezers.. They are the worst.. Does anyone know what they are or how to treat them yet. I've noticed I seem to get them when I get stressed.
Avatar m tn It certainly does work in the early stage of exposure to a mold or fungus, for the same reason that it works against bacterial infection—if you flush out the toxin, you may flush out the problem in your sinuses. If you have one of the other forms of sinusitis, your doctor can take an x-ray of your head, and the infection may show up as an opaque area on the x-ray.
280700 tn?1210287416 Hello! I am also starting my second round of clomid 100mg this month, last month was 50mg. I had 2 m/c in 2007 & they believe it was due to low levels of pregesterone so I'm taking clomid to help. Is anyone else in the same boat? I'm on D6 right now & taking on D5-9. It didn't work last month so really hoping for the best this month.
Avatar f tn It has made a miracle difference in my life. The low dosage of Gabapentin does not make me sleepy or dopy and once I am used to it I can increase the dosage if necessary. This is one goofy ailment and hardly anyone has heard of it much less experienced it. You have to be proactive with your doctor and say you want to try the Gabapentin and Fluocinonide. Good luck.
Avatar n tn I went from being quite healthy and taking no prescription medication to being very ill and taking 5 different forms of medication in a short period of time. My doctor prescribed me lamotrigine as they believed the fainting was a return of the fits i took when i was younger, which had no effect so they changed that to epilim which again has never stopped me passing out.
