I'll be 20 weeks Monday and my doctor also prescribed me Metronidazole Gel. I'm gonna take the second round tonight. I'd rather take it than not and experience the complications of having bv in the second trimester. I googled it first and it said bv untreated can cause premature rupture of membranes, preterm labor, and uterus infection. Just don't insert it all the way, as I do. My doctor said only about an inch.

Im had that 2xs so far during my pregnancy. Im 30w. Just call ur Dr. Monday morning and ask for a RX to be called in.They have to call on ones that work for pregnant woman. But u should be fine and it may also run its course.

I had bv and was prescribed metronidazole for it which cleared it up for a week n now I think it's back again! Grrr!

Isn't tetracycline dangerous during pregnancy???

It wouldn't particularly hurt to re-treat the yeast, once you finish the full run of the metro gel.

I was tested positive for HIV this February. I have been an occasional user of MDMA via syringe. I tested negative for Hepatitis B and C. I've been using metrogel for a few months now for a place on my cheek. It's finally clearing up, but my entire face was scratched up today, including the area I typically treat with metrogel. Is the metrogel safe to use on fresh scratches and sores to continue treatment. If so, would it be good to also put the metrogel on my entire face to help with all the scratch marks?

My doctor perscribed me Metrogel 0.75. I have been using it since Jan 18th 2010 (last month). For the most part I have been clear, however I still see some LIGHT red areas like they are fading away. Have I not used it long enough? BUT, I cleaned the house yesterday, and now today I have a larger red area in the corner of my eye..probably from sweating? My doctor reccommended I take Doxycycline 100mg, accept I took two pills and had total stomach pain -with or without food! My question is.

Has anyone was treated for bacterial vaginosis infection or yeast infection during first trimester? What medicine is safe to take for treating these two infections during 12w of pregnancy? My OB has prescribed me fluconazole 150 mg (one tablet only) for yeast infection and metronidazole 500 mg (to take for seven days) to treat bacterial vagnosis infection. She said it is safe however I am still hesitating. Please I need your advices.

White discharge is normal during pregnancy, yes even a lot is normal. Do you shower and wash yourself every day? Pregnancy and sweating go hand in hand so it could just be a mixture of your sweat and urine.

And your mucus plug is What accumulates at the beginning of the cervix during the pregnancy. Its one of the signs of labor. It falls out as the cervix opens. But its tannish rather than clear.

It has now been 13 days on the Doxycycline (of a 30 day cycle total ) and 4 days applying the Metronidazole 0.75% gel only at night, once a day. Thankfully, there has been much improvement since then. So far, no more flareups, hardly any itching only when my skin gets too dry, and during the day when I don't use the Metrogel, my skin is not as red anymore (more pink or normal in color) or bumpy.

m feeling some discomfort but nothing overwhelming, mostly just experience the pain during and after sex. I heard that metrogel can cause yeast infections, should I use the rest of the Terazol in case I have a yeast infection? What is causing the tear to reoccur.. yeast? I really want/need this all to go away!

m hoping I can take the valtrex for a couple days, get less sore then try the metrogel( for bv)... Idk.. 2 weeks a ago found out I was pregnant. Is the pregnancy the reasoning had an outbreak? I've been with my boyfriend for 7months. I was ready to go off on him but then the doctor told me I could have had it for years . So now I'm acres to even tell him b I could have had I all along. My OB said that pregnant women have so many veins on their cervix during pregnancy, and sometimes those are hit during the pap smear. I wouldn't worry.

Hi everyone...Recently I have been having several problems with the skin on my face. Up until about a year ago I had absolutely flawless skin. I'm 22 years old and live in Florida and used to go tanning alot but stopped about a year and a half ago. It started when I went on the birth control-nuva ring for ovarian cysts about 5 months ago and recently changed to yaz and have seen no difference.

Also, she was on Metrogel and she was allergic to it and it gave her second degree burns. She has healed from that but wonders if there are any prolonged affects of a problem like that. Lastly, she was on a steroid (diprolene) for years for the face (lupus). After the bad burns from the Metrogel, and it healed the dermatologist took her off of the steroid cold turkey and said to just use certain creams until the breakouts from the steroid went away.
