Avatar f tn I am a 25 yr old who is on metoprolol tart 50mg BID because almost 2 yrs ago I had my tricuspid valve replaced (now pig valve). Long story short, recovering IV drug abuser who gave myself staph which led to endocarditis and after 2 months of IV antibiotics finally got cracked open and given a new valve. I take my bp meds everyday bid (not exactly the same time ALL the time, but mostly).
471161 tn?1317194550 My PCP told me it could be the Metoprolol and I have been off of it for 4 days now. My heart rate is fine and I was down to a very low dose anyway. I am wondering if it will take longer to get it out of my system or if it may be the Digoxin ro something completely different. Please if anyone has experienced this let me know.

Avatar f tn When they were trying to control rate with JUST beta blockers... I took 200 of propranolol and 300 of metoprolol and occasional 100 of labetalol here and there. It helped but it worked a LOT better when other classes of drugs were added. Since the point is to slow you down, it generally SLOWS you down. When I was on THAT much, I felt like I was nailed to the couch. Now, instead I take coreg as a beta blocker and diltiazem, and flecainide and lisinopril.
Avatar m tn I am taking 75mg of plavix along with low dose aspirin. I am also taking 50 mg of metoprolol bid and diovan for blood pressure. What drug can I safely use to control the typical headache or backache.
Avatar f tn I also take 25 mg of Metoprolol a day. I am not aware of any problems caused by my practice of BB and Tea.
Avatar m tn Does chiari type 1 effect heart rate and blood pressure? What is a typical heart rate and blood pressure if you are a chiari patient? Share your data! Best wishes!
772216 tn?1259276837 But I've also been on tylenol, ibuprofen, aleve, neurontin, vicodin, darvocet, percocet hydrocodone and tramadol none of which take the pain away anymore. It has progressively gotten worse. I'm not sure if any those have aspirin in them though some of them had tylenol, I don't think we have aspirin either. My mom is on 2 different meds for her BP and HR, she has mitral valve prolapse. Hers is very well controlled.
1198633 tn?1341185988 doctor on April 20th to further discuss my problems and on May 10th I'm going to see an allergy specialist to find out the severity of my allergies and get a needle test done. I am on Protonix and take ranitidine to try and relieve some of these problems but they usually give me little to no relief. I also take antacids basically on a daily basis. I've been taking Acidophilus also but I'm about to stop it because it doesn't seem to help either. My G.P. started me on a high fiber diet.
503727 tn?1210442710 As soon as I get into a place I get so dizzy and my vision is all messed up. I get so hot and sweaty and my heart races. I want my life back. I still dont believe that its just anxiety causing all of this. I feel like I have something else wrong that the doctors cant find even though i have had bloodwork, mri, ekg, and they were all normal. I started taking .25mg of xanax once a day. still dont feel any better yet. So if anybody has any help please give it to me.
Avatar f tn Not to mention my normal daily meds Metoprolol 50mg one po per day and Xanax 0.25mg po every hs.I just took pregnancy test yesterday and I am approx. 5 weeks preg.Im terrified of what all of these meds might have done to my unborn baby.I can't afford to see Ortho MD right now or OB MD as I have missed work and had to pay rent and my husband got fired.I'm dead broke.I quit all of the pain meds immediately but now can't bear this pain.
733362 tn?1489798536 Doctors kept me on soma for 12 years and will continue. He used to prescribe 120 soma w/11 refills then the rules changed and he gave me 120 Soma w/4 refills, 120 Lortabs w/4 refills and 90 Valium w 4 refills, then he moved away after 25 years of being my Doctor. I never took as many as he rx'd me. 2 soma and 2 valium at night was the most I ever took. I only take 2 Norco during the day. I will need the Norco for pain although it doesn't help much, not like Soma.
Avatar n tn She had her f/u with her cardiologist yesterday and was diagnosed with PVCs. She was put on Metoprolol, and told to go to the ED if she had an episode that lasted more than 30 seconds. There isn't much material easily accessible about the correlation, and the effect on her overall prognosis. She found an article that lumped A-fib, V-fib, PVCs all together, and then gave a 33-month prognosis of 50%, without explaining the factors related to that.
Avatar n tn I told him I would rather wait but the pills do not help the pain at all. I am on Diovan for heart and Metoprolol also Levothyroxin for Thyroid. I can not believe there is so many of us with it and can not find out what it is. Please keep us posted if any results.
Avatar n tn I asked my cardiologist about reducing the dose of metoprolol to help alleviate some of the side effects I was having, and so we knocked it back to 25 mg/day (one 1/2 tablet 12 hrs apart) over the past couple weeks. The last two weeks, I developed a severe headache and neck aches, which were constant, and I was taking 2 extra strength Tylenol along with 1 Ibuprofen every 4-6 hours for the last couple days to try and stop them (recommendation from my internal medicine doctor).
233616 tn?1312790796 In light of the fact that I am currently UND and have no virus, the reversal of fatty liver and less necrosis and less HCC all sounds very appealing, not to mention any reduction in IR would mean ones own Interferon response would be better post tx. and this alone may increase ones chances of an SVR even if begun at the end of an SOC regime. Perhaps now, more than any other time it could help insure one will recognize any lingering HCV and seek and destroy as designed.
Avatar n tn The sensation is as if my head and neck are throbbing with pressure and I have to stop walking or slow down and stop and stand still for a minute or so to make the sensation stop. Sounds are muffled in rhythm with the pulsations and I sometimes feel as if I will pass out, but never have. There is no pain. I have been checked throughly by my GP, a cardiologist, and an electrophysiologist and none of them could find a cause.
Avatar m tn I've been on Metoprolol 50 mg one in the AM and one in the PM and it makes me dizzy and makes me feel like my heart is squeezing and doesn't do grunt to really control my PVC's. I have a close friend who is a psychologist, my age, who has the same thing. He was on Metoprolol and complained to his doctor who forced the pharmacy to give him the real medication, Toprol. Toprol is the brand name. Metoprolol is the generic.
Avatar n tn I think everything is over and I clean up. I walk out of the toilet and in about 2 minutes time the stomach cramp and the fainting sensation comes back (I've fainted only once to date from this and was out for about 15-20 minutes). 6. When I get back to the toilet I have a really violent Diarrhoea episode in pure liquid state.
Avatar m tn When I take Tylenol or Advil the pain goes away for 7-8 hours. I have controlled high blood pressure and taking Losartan Potassium, Metoprolol and Crestor as medications. (Age 45). Please advise.
Avatar f tn I am 23 and have been suffering from intense migraines for about 12 years. Seizuresfor about 3 years, but this isn't about the seizures.
378273 tn?1262101221 No, Tylenol is not aspirin, while it does have pain and fever reduction benefits just as does aspirin, it does not reduce swelling or affect the blood cells, as aspirin does. It is a given that aspirin is a heart risk reducer. It will not address AFib, nor will Tylenol, but it will help reduce the chance of clot formation, the main reason to take it if you are having AFib. I'd go ahead and take the aspirin, just forget about the Tylenol, assuming you took no more than the prescribed limit.
Avatar f tn I did not want to take the metoprolol and I declined the prescription for the metoprolol that the ER doc had wanted to give me--I should have at least taken the prescription because it was over a weekend and I could barely wait to call my md on Monday morning to get some metoprolol to control the shakes (full body) that came out of the blue and the rapid heart rate.
Avatar m tn I was advised by the attending doctor that I should apply heat and elevate the leg. I did this for 3 full days and nights. After the first day my leg had swollen and had a small blister formed that brke open and there was some slight bleeding.I suffered a stroke 8 years ago caused by atrial fibrilation and a heart attack 3 years ago whereupon I had double by pass surgery. I take 5 mg warfarin and an 81 mg aspirin daily for atrial fibrilation.
Avatar f tn He suggested ECHO and ECG and I done that. ECHO report is normal but still I feel pain, so please suggest me what should I do like any other treatment or diet change or anything else.
238668 tn?1232735930 Prosthetic Valves and INR--Avoiding Headaches posted by J.D. on January 25, 1999 at 17:28:41: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear J.D., I have never heard of a link between INR levels and headaches. The risk of too low of an INR is blood clots, strokes, and thrombosed valve. Therefore I would not try to base therapy on whether she has a headache or not.
Avatar f tn Before you know it, my back and my head was hurting. So I took an extra strength tylenol. It worked a little, but before you know it, my headache was back with a vengeance!! By 3pm ( time to go home), I was totally aching all over. I had a headache, backache, legs hurting, and neck!!! I was feeling totally icky with a slight bit of nausea! So when I got home I laid down and I am just getting up, but I am still hurting!! This is soooo scary! What do you all think? Have you all experienced this??
4250195 tn?1351712695 perscriped me Metoprolol SR. I took it once and I felt horrible . I have stopped taking it until I see an endocrinologist. I have been taking the lowest dose of Clonazapam for anxiety at night. I don't see an endocrinologist for about 3 weeks. Will it hurt anything to NOT take a Bb?
544292 tn?1268886268 Day 34; Tramadol Cold Turkey Withdrawal Dear Friends; Well it's official I now have Bronchitis. I have to rest and prevent it from going into pneumonia. So no work this week. Which means no income. Which means money going out, no money coming in. A couple nights ago I stood and PRAYED ... "Just show me and send me what I need." So apparently HP needs me to rest, and not work and whatever the effects of that; I am still clean! I am still NOT on Tramadol! I said it before.
511019 tn?1214340923 I was given a small dose of Prozac and Metoprolol to depress the sensations and it seems to work. Unfortunately, the beta blocker lowers my BP and Heart Rate and therefore make me more prone to fainting then I have been for years. All in all my situation has improved as the years have progressed.
