Avatar n tn It usually requires another agent to help maintain good rate control (a beta blocker like atenolol if you have normal kidneys or metoprolol if you don't have normal kidneys and your liver is ok). Atenolol is generic and relatively inexpensive. I hope this helps.
Avatar n tn I am also suffering from Hypothyroidism since 1980 and taking 125mg Thyroxine Sodium. I suffered from Gout in the year 2007 and am taking Allopurinol 100mg (tab.zyloric). Please advise if the medication stated above is correct. My breathing becomes heavy on physical exercise.My age is 60 years and I have recently superannuated from a responsible Givernment service. Avatar n tn The last few days he has had a headache that has progressively gotten worse. It's eerily reminiscent of his pre-surgery headaches. Nothing is working to dull the pain, dizziness, haziness, etc. He even called in sick to work last night (he goes to work vomiting if he has to!) and today has been more of the same. He claims the head isn't quite as bad, but still says it's a 6-8/10 on the pain scale.

Added to my daily regimen of Ketorolac 10mg,naproxn 500mg, Keetoconazole2% for skin condition,trammadolhcl 50 mg, Avapro300mg,metoprolol tart 25mg,losartan 100mg, amlodipine 10 mg,gabapentin 600 mg, Allopurinol 300mg, a lot right??
Avatar n tn I had a heart attack last year and am on beta blockers, ace inhibitors, clopidogrel and also thyroxine tablets for underactive thyroid. My bp has now stabilised and is between 98/49 -145/68. My pulse rate however, seems to only flucutate between the high 50s to as low as 43. Is this normal. I am 67 years old and overweight which I don't seem to be able to lose.
Avatar n tn My heart beats between 130 and 140 beats per minute despite 200 - 300 mg of metoprolol, a dose of lisinonpril and between 240 and 400 mg of lasix daily. I also take allipurinol for gout and some other meds for other things but I stopped taking amiodorone about 18 months after the initial hospitalization because i felt it was giving me terrible hot flashes and I had read up on the dangers of it and was worried about that.

Avatar f tn ) I never started the BB, and if it's true that metoprolol and clonazepam work synergistally, and that it would likely be harder to stop taking metoprolol later on, I'm probably better off without it. Again, thank you!
Avatar m tn merely matched symptoms to the corresponding drug repeatedly, and left it at that. Chemically and surgically forcing her internal environment has left her weak.. I would like to see her on a more natural regimen that supports the body instead of burdens the liver. I know such things exist from my internet research. Any help from anyone is greatly appreciated. -age 65 -Rheumatic fever as an infant, weakened heart. -Non-smoker 30 yeas.
Avatar n tn I have had gout for about 8 years but only had one attack and am on 100mg allopurinol once a day. I am also on Metoprolol (beta blocker) 50mgs 3 times a day and have been for 28 years. I do suffer from anxiety but i am a therapeutic counsellor and teacher so i am very self-aware and i used to have panic attacks, and did have an emotional breakdown ten years ago after a very traumatic relationship breakdown. My pulse is usually between 46-60, rarely above that unless i exercise.
212059 tn?1292942129 I only write about this because prednisone eats up your liver and can cause gout. The bright side to gout? If you get it and have an attack, I can promise you you will not once think of a heart palpatation :) Hopefully this helps some of you for what it is worth.

I am o.k i have never felt dizzy or shorten of breath i do a regular excercise. but i want ask you specialy the dr's , As right now do i need a medication for the blood pressure or the cardiomyopathy?
