X-ray revealed nothing, and I have been through chiropractic and physical therapy with marginal relief at best ( ~ 24 hours.) medications used include metaxalone, valium and ibuprofen. stiffness has remained constant, w/ a reduced ROM when flexing my neck laterally. I also occasionally experience shooting pain up the left side of my neck when i rotate my head in that direction. Neck remains inflamed and "cracks" often.

Could you be thinking of Topamax, which can have the side effect of weight loss when used for other indications, so is sometimes used for that purpose?

Recently I've been having all sorts of muscle cramps in my legs and lots of spasticity in my hips. I've read that it can be a side effect of Tysabri. I've been really careful about my diet and supplements to make sure I'm getting the nutrition I need. I've also been stretching like crazy and sometimes it helps, but sometimes it causes the muscles to cramp immediately.

I have read up on it a lot and it seems pretty harmless and safe, especially compared to other back pain medications. I have refused somas and other narcotics because I don't want to go down that road. Just concerned if say I work 5 days in a row and I take the skelaxin every day. Than I'm off for two days. Have you heard of alternate uses for Armidex? I have endometriosis stage 4, I had 2 surgeries in 2006, and my surgeon is putting me on Armidex to try to control the pain. Is this a common use for this medicine?

I just got switched to metaxalone 800mg and i cant say if they are better or worse than flexeril as they dont seem to affect me either. I am afraid to take more than two since they are 800mg but it might affect me, if it doesnt work i think i will switch back to flexeril as i feel safer taking a higher dose, honestly just because of the size of the metaxalone pills, which i know means nothing but I heard flexeril is the strongest so if something will help maybe that will.

I was told on another forum that I should be tested for some other infections/viruses such as enteroviruses, Herpes viruses (including HHV-6, EBV, CMV, HHV-7) and Chlamydia pneumonia (Cpn). Came down with a bad sore throat. Following day went to doc, he swabbed my throat and confirmed strep with a quick test. My wife had also had strep recently. Doc gave Z-pac and steriods since the pain was awful. Felt great in a couple days Apart from the fever associated with the strep, I have had NO SYMPTOMS of any kind since any of those encounters.
