X-ray revealed nothing, and I have been through chiropractic and physical therapy with marginal relief at best ( ~ 24 hours.) medications used include metaxalone, valium and ibuprofen. stiffness has remained constant, w/ a reduced ROM when flexing my neck laterally. my dad is 83 yrs old, has emphysema, copd everything...hes on ox, however he still struggles to breathe, won't allow anyone to go into the doctors office with him ! opiates will make your spew, but i dont think the codeine even in high doses makes you sick, iv had 240mg of codeine before and it just makes you feel real high for a couple of hours, ulcers would be causing him pain,so im not so sure if its ulcers.HOw many is he taking at one time?

This only becomes an issue if you are taking mega-doses of those vitamins and lose a lot of weight - suddenly, your body could be overdosed - there is an LD50 listing for vitamin A of 2000 mg/kg - LD = lethal dose, LD50 = 50% of the population will die at that dose, 2000 milligrams per kilogram of body weight. Anyone who tells you that herbs will not hurt you is just wrong.

I know that this forum isn't adequate for my question but I am new to this site please forgive me for this. I am 17 years old, and 80 kg. My issue is I have just taken accidentally 10 grams of paracetamol aka acetaminophen I've just read that the ld50 is >250mg/kg so by this it means that the dose for me to die is 20 grams. Will I be safe for the next 24 hours because I can't seek any medical help for this time, what should I do? I am really scared.

I was told the deep hip pain is caused by a deep spasm so close to the bone that you cannot see, but it is a spasm. Forget the technical name. Metaxalone was prescribed for me and it helps about 80% of the pain. I hope I answered your question, feel free to ping me if you have any more. Neither Skelaxin (metaxalone) nor Celebrex (celecoxib) cause dependence. Your body will not crave either medication. You will not develop tolerance to either medication, nor will you suffer withdrawal symptoms in their absence. The usual dose of Skelaxin is 800mg every 6 to 8 hours (three or four times a day). Do not exceed the maximum daily dose, and don't mix Skelaxin with alcohol, barbiturates, or other CNS depressants.

I just got switched to metaxalone 800mg and i cant say if they are better or worse than flexeril as they dont seem to affect me either. I am afraid to take more than two since they are 800mg but it might affect me, if it doesnt work i think i will switch back to flexeril as i feel safer taking a higher dose, honestly just because of the size of the metaxalone pills, which i know means nothing but I heard flexeril is the strongest so if something will help maybe that will.

Some meds need to be separated by a short period of time. I guess these are more specifically SSRI's and MAOI's. I didn't see a major problem with the meds being taken consecutively. This should always be at the discretion of ones doctor though. I guess I neglected to emphasize the importance of only ever making medication changes after consultation with the treating physician. There are a number of factors to consider when changing meds. Withdrawal is only one.

The old standy from Flexeral causes so much sleepiness. One of the better ones that wont make you as sleepy is Metaxalone.

I have a decent but needy job so I need to do this around work. I have a bunch of Xanax and metaxalone (not sure if the muscle relaxers will help) but would love any additional suggestions that would help make this easier whilst holding down a full time job. Hi. Finally, it sounds like someone that has a similar symptom to mine... sort of. I've asked around and no one could relate. The MANY MS Dr.'s I had seen said it didn't sound like an MS symptom (and they were the best in the state, members of nmss, speakers at neurological events, etc...) it was starting to frustrate me because no one would really try to figure it out. My last Dr. figured it out, but it took many, many complaints for her to listen and try to figure it out.

(which have now been restricted to clinic/in-person use only, which I wholly approve of BTW), could very well stand a chance of approaching LD50 for an opiate naive person. 6 pills in 48 hours for a relatively opiate naive person could also enter ld50 territory. Weight doesn't much to do with propensity to die from N dose.

When I read the LD50 dose is at 9.5grams and I exceeded that for at least three days in a row. From what I read I really won't know if I have killed myself until Saturday or Sunday.

I am a 60 y.o. woman who became disabled after a transit accident 6 yrs ago. In 6 months time, we lost our home, lived in a motel (long-term disability from emplyer), found an apartment & thought we were seeing the end of the nightmare.Two weeks after we moved in our ap t, i found my significant other dead in bed, accidental asphyxiation under influence of sleeping med. I was already being treated for Depression & mild Anxiety.

At the time I was on 30 mg of control release morphine 3x a day, 150mg of Lyrica 2x a day, 800mg of Metaxalone (muscle relaxer) 3x a day, 225mg of Effexor 1x a day and 40 mg of Desipramine (anti-depressant, for nerve pain) 1x a day. I immediately contacted my pain mgmt dr. to talk about what to do. I was panicking! What have these medications done to my unborn baby??? I weened myself off the desipramine within a week. I dropped down to taking the morphine 2x a day.
