X-ray revealed nothing, and I have been through chiropractic and physical therapy with marginal relief at best ( ~ 24 hours.) medications used include metaxalone, valium and ibuprofen. stiffness has remained constant, w/ a reduced ROM when flexing my neck laterally. I also occasionally experience shooting pain up the left side of my neck when i rotate my head in that direction. Neck remains inflamed and "cracks" often.
So im on an intravenous receiving antibiotics and there is a bruise above the sight of the iv insertion spot I was just wondering if this might be caused by the medication going in. It did the same hing to the opposite arm.
I was recently diagnosed with a more sever form of lyme disease and am going to be given Intravenous Antibiotics through an IV form for 30 days. They have to keep certain tubes inside so it can be done everyday. It can only be contracted by having unprotected, penetrative sex (anal or vaginal) or by sharing intravenous needles. Needles are not re-used in hospitals or clinics, so that is no worry - today, intravenous infection ONLY happens when IV drug users share needles.
There are no "what ifs" that you could add to this event that would make it a risk for HIV.
