I have peptic ulcer disease and have bouts of pain that cause me to miss work and make me only want to eat ice cream and crackers for days. The only time I get relief from it is if I take some vicodin I have left over from a surgery. I can't take NSAIDs, they just make the problem worse. I would like to be referred to a pain management specialist. Does this sound like a problem they could help me with? If so, how do you get referred to a pain management doctor?

Ive been to different doctors and all theyve given me is pills, pills, and more pills! I used to have a peptic ulcer so they all assume its related.. maybe it is, maybe it isnt but the pills theyve given me I dont feel have worked so.. I took to the herbal route and started taking a capsule of ceyenne pepper a day which seems to have helped immensely, Im even considering drinking aloe vera juice. Anyways! Are you still on Plavix? That is a blood thinner and would create further problems. Absolutely speak to your doctor about this.

about two years ago I had a peptic ulcer. had an endoscopy and that is when they found it. I took previcid for a while and it went away. I fely good for a long time. Now about two months ago I vomited in the middle of the night. The next day I felt the same pain I had when I had the ulcer. I went back on my previcid and it didn't go away. I went to the doctors. Had some blood work done. Lipase is elevated. 419.
The pain which you suffered is probably due to some acute gastritis/peptic ulcer pain which typically occurs in the night and is usually associated with nausea. If you take some antacids/omeprazole/pantoprazole, you’ll be fine. Please consult gastroenterologist/physician and you may need an endoscopy in case the symptoms recur on regular basis, otherwise a short course of anti-ulcer drugs should be fine.

a year ago a doctor suspected me of peptic ulcer and he gave me pantoprazole 40mg and domperidone for 2 weeks. Then all symptoms were gone after the treatment. After a few months i started taking this probiotic (with 250 billion cfu) then i started to get bloated, felt like the ulcer symptoms came back. I've been like that for 6 months now. I feel like there's too much gas inside me. I don't have excessive burping/flatulence though.
