1837314 tn?1318382824 Quitting smoking can effect your menstrual cycles, so try not to worry too much about this. Stress can also effect your cycle. You can buy home pregnancy tests at the dollar store, and those are just as accurate as the other tests. If you are not on some form of birth control, then you really need to do so until you are actually ready to have a baby.
Avatar f tn The monitor will not be affected by herbal supplements, smoking, or quitting smoking. As long as you're not taking any hormones and testing with the first urine of the day, your monitor will work fine. Now, as far as your cycle... I wouldn't think quitting smoking or herbal supplements would affect your cycle length or ovulation time. According to Clearblue, it is normal to have an anovulatory cycle once every 13 months or so.

Avatar f tn So i'm 12 weeks and after smoking roughly 10-15 cigarettes a day before I got pregnant, i'm down to one or two a day. I was told that quitting cold turky would be worse for my baby (especially dealing with depression and anxiety) so even though I've cut down and plan on quitting some time this week, could there be any significant damage done to my baby? I'm really worried and wish I just would have quit when I first found out..
Avatar f tn Congratulations on quitting smoking! One of the biggest issues with smoking during pregnancy is low birth weight babies. You've stopped at a time when babies really start picking up their weight. That occurs over the last several weeks, so you are giving your baby a good chance of picking up weight and being born at a more healthy weight.
Avatar f tn My question is; Will it be beneficial for me that I quit smoking even if it was only 6 days prior to my IUI????? I know in the long run it'll help, but will it help me through this current cycle of treatment?
Avatar f tn Quitting smoking is a pain! I've managed to cut back but I'm stuck with two a day. Can't quite break the cycle yet and I've only got ten weeks left. I've tried everything and the only thing that helps is not having anyone around that smokes or has smokes. Its almost impossible to quit. A lot of docs tho allow two a day because the baby is already addicted. It's hard for us to quit cold turkey and its tough on the baby to. Just talk to your doc about it.
Avatar f tn Honestly I had an incredibly hard time quitting smoking I tried several different remedies none worked until I mad up my own here's what I did.... Since we all want the best for our lovely babies they also in turn become our best motivation...
Avatar f tn Hello. I've quit smoking for 3 weeks now after 32 years of smoking. I am using the patch and my doctor put me on zyban when I saw her sept 5 because I couldn't stop crying. The crying has gotten better I feel terrible. I think I'm obsessed with my breathing to the point where I feel it all the time. My chest feels tight. I feel myself inhaling all the time. I've been to the emergency room twice now in two weeks. Chest films taken. They put me on high does prednisone for.

Avatar n tn I quit smoking 3 days ago ,is it normal to have heart palpitations from quitting??
Avatar n tn I am a newly graduated nurse however, and during maternity class we were taught if a mother was really struggling with quitting smoking, to wean herself off slowly. I would talk to you r doctor about it. They are not there to judge you, only to help. Smoking can be harmful to your baby, but you understand that, or you wouldn't be making an effort to quit. If I were you, try smoking the least amount as possible and try to wean off completely. Good Luck!
Avatar f tn theres a 1-800 number for quitting smoking. or you can try drinking a glass of ice water every time you get an urge. or sucking/chewing on a straw, chewing gum, sunflower seeds, snacking lightly in general. rubberband on your wrist. taking a brisk walk. theres all sorts of things you can do. I also recommend figuring out what makes you crave the most. for me, I have to have a cig not to long after waking up, and after eating.
Avatar m tn Your theory is my theory - just the act of continuing to inhale something made me crave cigarettes like crazy which is why I quit the weed back in January with the hopes it would make quitting smoking much easier. It did! I quit c/t on Apr28th and haven't taken a single puff. I wish I could say I haven't smoked any weed at all in 7mos, but I can't. Have smoked a couple times after I hit the 6mo mark and as predicted, felt cravings for cigs that weren't there before.
