Avatar f tn Depo Provera { Started 5/20/2010, Last Shot 2/9/2012 } Before I started getting the Depo Provera Injections I always had a normal, slightly heavy period. Minimal cramping. After taking Depo Provera for 1 year I finally lost my periods.
1558346 tn?1294674349 ty for responding..its after every menstrual cycle,i stop the bleeding, begin to engage sexual intercourse and then brown dishcharge every time for a few days aftyer my cycle.
Avatar f tn Not only that but it typically takes the body an inordinate amount of time to recover after being on it so getting a normal menstrual cycle back after multiple rounds of shots is rare. I'd say it's pretty much to be expected that you'd have issues with your cycle after getting two shots.
Avatar f tn Another fact to be aware of is that once you stop Depo injections, it may take several months for your menstrual cycle to become 'normal' again. Although you can become pregnant after stopping Depo, it can take several months to a year before you're able to conceive. Personally, I liked Depo because it was easy to maintain the scheduled appointments every 3 months. Also, it is extremely effective when it comes to preventing pregnancy.
Avatar n tn check up was fine stop.bleeding maybe 3 weeks after i had him. got the depo shot at my 6 wk check up started bleeding for three months so i didnt get it again then i stopped bleeding for 3months then bled for two months then stopped for three months now again its been a month my doctor said it was normal but never have i had anything like this happen withy other three.. should i get a sec opinion? has anyone else went thru anything like this?
Avatar n tn Hi there, Depo vera may disrupt the menstrual cycle. It can cause irregular bleeding or spotting, heavy or prolonged bleeding, or your menstrual bleeds to stop altogether. After stopping depo it may take some time for your hormones to normalize. Upper stomach pain and cramp can be due to many causes like gastritis, gastroesophageal reflux disease; peptic ulcer etc.Other causes of delayed periods like pregnancy, hormonal imbalances, ovulation disorders and thyroid disorders should be ruled out.
Avatar f tn I have not heard of a correlation between the depo shot and dermoid cysts. However, I've read of cases where the menstrual cycle didn't return to normal after stopping depo.
Avatar f tn Pregnancy occurring during the use of the shot is usually an undetected pregnancy before the shot is given. One of the side effects of Depo-Provera is irregular menstrual bleeding. 50% of women will stop getting their period after 1 year of the shot. The period usually returns after stopping the shots, however, it can take 3 months to a year for the effects of Depo-Provera to wear off and fertility to return.
Avatar f tn i recently had my last depo shot august of 2015 , soon after getting off depo i immediately started to have regular 28 day menstrual cycles ( THANK GOD ) it has been 7 months since the start of my regular period after stopping depo. i have ben trying to concieve for the past two months but no luck :( ive started to belive that i was ovulating but not getting pregnant due to the medicine from depo.
Avatar f tn I know a girl who got pregnant while taking Depo. It's going to be different for every woman. But a normal, healthy woman can take up to a year to conceive. Your best chances of conceiving would be to monitor your fertility (WE CAN HELP HERE!!!). I got pregnant with my 2nd daughter on the first try because I was monitoring my fertility. But again, it can take up to a year. You have a 25% chance of conception every cycle.
Avatar f tn Irregular menstrual periods, or no periods at all Headaches Nervousness Depression Dizziness Acne Changes in appetite Weight gain Excessive growth of facial and body hair Hair loss Loss of bone mineral density Most of the side effects are not common. Change in the menstrual cycle is the most common side effect. You may experience irregular bleeding or spotting. After a year of use, about 50% of women will stop getting their periods. Their periods usually return when they discontinue the shots.
Avatar f tn And what did you had to do to get pregnant aftef the depo? Because I know that its hard to get pregnant after it..
505857 tn?1329681517 I stopped the Depo shot August 2007 and had my first menstrual cycle Nov 2007, we have been trying to conceive ever since with no luck. Could anyone tell me, I am looking to start taking the pill to try and regulate my system again, does this work? I have heard many people have done this after coming off Depo and it has worked, but i'm not sure what to do. My periods are a regular 26 days but are pretty heavy. Any advice is much appreciated!!!!
Avatar f tn m not getting it. Is there a chance that my cycle is trying to come back? Never had one menstrual on depo.
Avatar f tn He comes back in June and we are wanting to try for a baby, but im not sure if i can even get pregnant without a menstrual cycle. Is it possible for me to get pregnant, or is there anything that can be done for me to get pregnant.
487969 tn?1249313291 Constant cycle brought on BCPs, Depo Provera, Depo Lupron, etc. and eventually, the fertilaty doc that administered the Depo Lupron told me I would not be able to have kids (at 17 I was told that). Had 2 Endometreiosis surgeries in addition to this. Nothing helped. At 21 I got pregnant (what a shock). Cycle was ok after that, but with gradual return of pain. At 27 had another child. Unable to breastfeed (which I was not entirely unhappy about) and had no leakage after cessation.
Avatar n tn but if you're bleeding brown and its not your regular menstrual cycle. it could be implantation bleeding. but I'm not sure about that. wait to see if you're going to get a regular menstrual cycle if you don't then take a pregnancy test or go see your doctor.
Avatar m tn t know that it can stop the menstrual cycle. That may be why everything is all messed up now. For instance, I had hypothyroidism while on the Depo but now have hyperthyroidism now that I'm off of it and no longer using (My anniversary date is 10/2011).
646779 tn?1281996041 I was re-married about 3 years ago, and we wanted to have a child together....I never got my menstrual cycle while on the Depo....I stopped taking it April 07' , got my menstrual cycle back for a good 2 months...Nov & Jan...spotting other months...then I got pregnant April 08', exactly 1 year later.... Good luck, remember everyone's body is different...but it will take a while before you start to ovulate again...you are just fine!!
Avatar f tn From speaking to a lot of women who used depo, it typically takes a few months to get back to a regular cycle. Some have said that the longer you were on it, the longer it takes. Now, it IS possible to get pregnant BEFORE your first period. During the menstrual cycle you ovulate BEFORE you menstruate. So, it IS possible to get pregnant and NOT even have another period.
Avatar f tn okay, so i got a depo shot when my baby was born Feb 3,2011. then for those 3 months i had a heavy period, i went to the er they found nothing, asked me to give it a few more days. one more month and the bleeding stop. my RN asked if ii was still was going to stay on depo? i said no, last month i had a normal menstrual cycle. now, it's been 30 days with out a cycle. can i be pregnant?
Avatar f tn i just recently had a real period that lasted for 5 days, before this i would just spot . a week after my menstrual i had unprotected sex twice and im scared that i may be pregnant, but i read that after stopping depo it can take up to a yea r to become pregnant.
Avatar m tn finally got put on norimin from gynocologist after an exam where everything was fine. went to two periods a month. after 8 months on it i had a normal cycle with only one period. this month, month 11, got break through bleeding/spotting (light and brown mostly with some clots) a week before my pill period is due, this is day 2. also had bloating, headaches, cramps, moodiness and tiredness. has anyone else experienced any of this on Norimin or know why it might be happening?
