Avatar m tn Shave some slices and steep in boiling water for a soothing tea, recommends Bill Phillips, Men's Health editor-in-chief and author of The Better Man Project. Not only do its anti-inflammatory properties make it useful to people with arthritis, bursitis, or tendonitis, but it can also help relieve gas, nausea, motion sickness, allergies, and bad breath, says Phillips. Tart cherries instead of pills.

Avatar n tn I take long bathes, paint my toes, anything to pamper and care for myself. Btw… when I journal… I focus on writing about what I am feeling, but ending the journal session with words of kindness and support to myself no matter how silly it can feel at time. I have even carried similar notes of support in my purse for those particularly dark times. Anyhow, with time the wave eventually dies away and the water recedes. I soon find myself with my feet planted firmly on solid ground.
Avatar n tn OMG!! 46, will be 47 in June. Can't even tell you how everything seems to be failing, wrinkling, etc. & yes, it seems like it happened overnight. Perimenopausal as well. Had complete check up recently & no major health issues. However, my gyno has me hrt's(which I REALLY want to get off of). Added into the mix of all the skin issues mentioned, I am losing my hair like CRAZY. Anyone else having hair loss issues?
Avatar m tn If you want to know what causes sinusitis, and why the saline solution works, go to Part II of this journal. PART I 1. MAKING YOUR OWN SALINE SOLUTION WARNING: Do not use tap water, unless it has been boiled first. There is a rare microbe that can get in your brain from some water systems. Saline solution is salt water. You can buy a bottle of saline solution in a drugstore, and it works just fine.
Avatar n tn There is a good article in Women's Health this month in regards to Chronic pain and the fact that sometimes the nerve does not "shut off" long after the injury has healed. At least this would account for the fact that nothing shows on MRI's, X-Rays, CAT scans, Bone Scans etc., etc.. The hope was that the nerve blocks that I had would work "like shutting down and restarting your computer". One worked for 4 days, the next one 2 (they won't repeat them).
Avatar n tn any instructions for follow-up? did you get any meds? Seriously think about going to a naturopath for extra health support, get someone to call and drive you there. Also, go see your medical doctor if you feel that you have worsened. I got the flu shots on Nov 5th and there have been days that I felt that I went "backwards" and then I would improve again. Look at our original forum (Tingling after Swine Flu Vaccine) where there are over 150 comments for more feedback and suggestions.
Avatar f tn There still may be something in ur Vegan diet that is causing ur symptoms to flare, try keeping a journal of what u eat, when , how much, and how u feel after...as it may be something most would not have a reaction to, we are all different and it may be something u consider safe with GERD...but for u it is not. Also talk with ur Dr and see what suggestions he/she may have as it could be the meds u have do not work for u, or it may just take a little longer for results....
Avatar f tn I had upper and lower jaw surgery 3 years ago and my health has never been the same. I was given 4 plates and screws in the mandible and maxilla and got the same story about the bioavailability of titanium, but I question it. I have done some moderate research over the last few months and I found one excellent study about a very small percentage of patients having significant health systems since receiving Ti implants.
Avatar n tn i had echo done on my heart--normal chest xray--normal blood tests--normal (still waiting for the results of the allergy test though) so like the other post said...i feel better about my heart, and my health but i still cant breathe. Pulmonary function tests where the doctor said "it could be asthma, very mild though" he prescribed singulair and an albuterol inhaler for before i run. sometimes taking the inhaler can make me lightheaded. so i dont like using it.
Avatar n tn This is really illuminating to find so many others suffering almost identical symptoms. I am a 58 year old male pretty fit and in generally good health. My problem is the intense tearing pain I get in my right knee when I bend at a certain angle and at a certain time. I can't define either because it's so uncertain. I can do situps now with no problem. We all seem to refer to this pain as a tearing pain as it feels like a wound that has been stiched together is tearing apart.
Avatar n tn 6 or more skipped heartbeats per minute life threatening?? The doctor who told you that in the ER needs to go back to school. I'd have died a long time ago. I have more than 6 skipped beats per minute at times for the last 45 yrs, and I am healthy as a horse including my heart. When I start having PVC's especially in public or driving my car I get so high anxiety over these damn things that my heart is constantly skipping like every other beat.
Avatar n tn If you're taking this pill just to loose weight, and not for a health reason, you should stop taking it, and see that if you keep eating healthy, and walking, you'll still loose! And BTW, taking this pill 10 mins before a meal to help with your appetite is crazy! All diet pills tell you to take it 30min.s before each meal.. b/c it takes 30 min.s to start working...10 min.s? that pill isn't doing anything for you when you're eating!
Avatar n tn Married 7 yrs no other partners no history of any health issues. Thought it could be atrophic vaginitis, but dr didn't seem to think so. The only thing that stops it from itching all day is anti itch cream like vagasil.
Avatar n tn Oops! I forgot to mention that I do have a friend that took Topamax for migraines. She said it helped her immensely, but she did lose weight with it. I don't think she had any of the bad side effects, but I am not for sure.
Avatar n tn I too can relate to your story. Not just an hr ago I went through this same thing: stomach cramps and nausea; light headed, turned pale, I got really hot all over sweating from head to toe; loss in blood pressure that I couldn’t even hold my head up, felt like I would pass out; severe stomach cramps and liquid diarrhea, in my case there was no hard stool. I have experienced this problem probably 5 or 6 times in my life and I am 46.
Avatar n tn Luckily my girlfriend is a champ and isn't too conserned about me getting off, but she's more worried if there are any health issuse i need to be aware of... I don't really think I'm comfortable enough to say "I'm addicted to porn!" Oh well, I suppose I'll take everyone's addvice and just cut back on the porn and masturbation.
Avatar n tn WOW Law Enforcement, that must be so exciting, to tell you the truth I had only the mental health part of my police application then off to the Academy, when my daughter died and I would have been right there with you. Guardian Angel your way for protection of you and your family each day you go out for all of us!! I am so sorry to hear about your mom, I can honestly say I don't know how you do it, if it weren't for my mom I don't know what I would do, but you have her baby to love you.
