Is there anyone who is taking Meloxicam that would know how much aspirin is in it? I am allergic to aspirin and just read the printout from the pharmacy. Can't call my dr till Mon. and think maybe I shouldn't take it. On the other hand my dr knows I'm allergic to aspirin. Hoping someone may know.

Now after reading about Meloxicam side effects today, I am suspecting that perhaps the issue is the Meloxicam. My symptoms seem slightly different each day. Initially it was a few days of mostly lower leg weakness and overall lack of energy. That changed to a few days of lower leg tingling and numbness, and then the numbness and tingling moved to mostly my right side leg and arm and slightly in my left leg.

They prescribed me Meloxicam and told me to take extra strength tylenol with it... it has helped some but still in extreme amounts of pain. Sitting and laying down do not give me relief... if I can keep adjusting and find a position the pain will to go down then I can stay in the same position for 5 to 10 minutes and tolerate the pain. Heat and cold have no effects. I tried a heating pad the first night it started and had no relief at all.

Meloxicam is just an NSAID like Ibuprofen or Celebrex. It might help with some aches and pains. The Elavil might help with the depression aspect, but it would take several weeks to kick in. I wouldn't expect much help from either.

I am thinking about asking my doctor for pain meds I don't have to take everday on a regular basis. I hate taking pills and it seems like everykind that I have to take daily made me worse or had horrible side effects. I can handle the usual pains but want something I can take when I can't handle it which is about 3 or 4 times a week. I don't have an addictive personality but don't want something harmful. Any ideas or comments?
