If that is what it is used for then it's not working on me, I am trying to detox from methadone, so I can try other pain treatments, and I still have severe withdrawal symptoms.

Is there anyone who is taking Meloxicam that would know how much aspirin is in it? I am allergic to aspirin and just read the printout from the pharmacy. Can't call my dr till Mon. and think maybe I shouldn't take it. On the other hand my dr knows I'm allergic to aspirin. Hoping someone may know.

ve been taking Meloxicam for my costochondritis for about a month and felt much better. I quit taking it and had a flare up and am now back on it. I hope it works. I just don't want to be on it too long term.

I don't think Meloxicam is a good choice for anyone , it will ruin your kidney like mine, I was told by a kidney doctor to stop taking them they were ruining my kidneys. I have been taking Meloxicam for years for arthritis. Now I have stage 4 kidney disease. Stage 5 is kidney transplant or dialyses. it's your choice.

I took Meloxican for 7 days, I experienced pain in my right arm, I could not hold my purse anymore, tingling, and some numbness on my left arm, and sensations that move to different parts of my body. I stopped taken Meloxican and the pain of my right arm is gone, but the tingling, pins and needle sensation and pain are still present every day. I am taking B supplement and I think that the Meloxican is the cause.

To date I hvae been on three medications for my headaches (meloxicam, zomig and propranolol) but nothing seems to help. My headache has lasted for a month straight but it seems to be getting worse. My family doctor seems to think that I have sinus, tension and migraine headaches. There are many, many medications available to treat not only the pain and inflammation, but also slow down and hopefully halt the progression of the disease itself. The frustrating part is finding the right medication or combination of meds for you - no two people respond the same way to the same medications. My "cocktail" is Enbrel and methotrexate, plus an anti-inflammatory called meloxicam (Mobic). These three meds only scratch the surface of what's available. Good luck!

Hello Flowr, I understand your hesitancy to take Meloxicam. Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with analgesic and fever reducer effects. It's often used in Arthritic and inflammatory conditions. However any NSAID comes with concerns - including OTC NSAIDs such as Ibuprofen. Several years ago Glucosamine & Chondroitin was popular with medical providers. It was hailed as the new and one of the best "treatments" for restoring cartilage and reducing pain.

You can try the prescription Naproxen, this is a prescription to Aleve. I've used it for years. I am now using Meloxicam, because I've been on it too long, long means like off and on for over 20 years, and it just wasn't doing anything for me. I have a lumbar back sprain.
