Meloxicam and hydrocodone

Common Questions and Answers about Meloxicam and hydrocodone

603946 tn?1333945439 I do have meloxicam on hand. Thinking maybe one meloxicam with a dose later in the day of hydrocodone 7.5/500 acet and soma at bedtime Anyone have advice? And I do not know the platelet count. I did ask on a return phone call to the reply in 2 days. Can't be too low I don't think, I've never had this happen. I did just get over a sinus infection which I had when lab took blood.
Avatar m tn I got x-rays and was diagnosed with degenerative arthritis in my big toe joint and on 9-18-13 I started taking Meloxicam (Mobic). The 1st two nights of taking Meloxicam I felt achey at night and had a fever of about 100- 101. That went away for a while, but then started happening again now every night from about 10-1-13 to now 10-11-13. I get a slight fever at night (100-101) and sweat bad all night long. Bad enough to where the sheets are wet. I usually lose about 3 - 3 1/2 lbs.
Avatar f tn I gave started on a medicine called meloxicam. It's almost like a really strong Tylenol and does wonders! Hope this helps, it should pass soon.
2207073 tn?1338935516 Significant - Monitor Closely! cyclobenzaprine + hydrocodone cyclobenzaprine and hydrocodone both increase sedation. Significant - Monitor Closely! The above report does not include the possible 50-100 (combined)direct side effects from your meds. You are so young and seem to have a loving family. There are many safer options available to you. Avatar n tn The reason I ask is that both of the meds you list are prescription medications. And no, they are completely different meds. Meloxicam (brand name Mobic) is a NSAID (Non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) and is used to treat inflammation. Lortab is an opiate that contains Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen. Please do not take any medication that is not prescribed to you recently. And if these are prescribed to you from two different Drs...
606078 tn?1247268153 I take Tramadol, Zoloft, Flexeril, Restoril, high blood pressure meds, a statin for cholesterol, and meloxicam. I couldn't tolerate Lyrica or Neurontin, both made me very ill. My Rhuemy feels that the trauma from having had 3 major knee surgeries in exactly 7 months brought my fibro to fruitation. My grown children and my husband all understand that this disease is unseen but will take total control if I allowed it to do so.
Avatar f tn I have been prescribed hydrocodone for approx. 7 years. I had my left knee replaced in 2009 and had to have it revised in 2011 and to this day I am still in pain. My doctor increased my prescription from 90 per month to 120 per month. I'm now receiving 180 per month along with 90 cyclobenzaprine (muscle relaxer) per month. I also receive 30 meloxicam per month for swelling and pain. Even with all these meds I'm still in pain. My knees, my hips, and my back.
Avatar m tn She also feared an addiction and asked me to wean myself off of the tramadol and gave me a prescription for meloxicam instead. I am now down to less than a quarter tramadol a day. I can manage the pain reasonably with meloxicam and Tylenol. But it still hurts more than I would like. Now that my history has been described, here is the real issue of this post. Ever since my surgery I have had some sexual dysfunction. I used to love sex. I would think about it a lot.

Avatar n tn I found the BEST help with the pain was taking down the immflamation and not so much trying to take away the pain itself. Ask your doc for MELOXICAM ( aka Mobic ) . It is a potent anti immflamatory and does not have the "yucky" side effects of hydrocodone or percacet etc.. I found the most relief came from taking meloxicam consistently. At day 5 I saw a surgeon , by day 8 the pain came down substantially and by day 12 it was gone.
Avatar n tn Upper legs (perhaps hips?) extremely sore and almost go out from under me when I try to stand up and walk after sitting in a chair/sofa/bed etc. Seems to be getting worse. Not tied to injury that I can think of or exercise although I've tried to increase walking to see if it improves the condition. It hasn't. Pain still hurts when walking but not as severe as when I first get up. What is this? Used to run marathons, ski, cycle - its been a life changing problem and I'd like to find a cure.
Avatar f tn Since that time, she has placed me on meloxicam and hydrocodone. I take one 7.5 mg. of meloxicam a day and six 7.5/500 mg of hydrocodone a day. My questions regular doctor is not sure he believes in Fibro and treats me as if I'm just a complainer and using too much medication. All I know is this is the first time I've felt human in three years. Should I change my regular physician? Is this too much medication to take? Any information would be appreciated. Thank you!
Avatar n tn Went to my doc today and i was crying because i went to my caseworker asking for some financial assistance and she was very mean and rude and to make a long story short i was feeling very alone so went to my docter and told her about my headaches (I do get bad headaches alot) and she put me on a med called mobic for my headaches have you ever heard of it and if so what exactly is it? She also put me on ativan 0.5mg for anxiety and Bancap 5/500 prn for headaches.
2207073 tn?1338935516 Lol well november 2011 imaging showed anular tear and bulging at L4/L5. So at that point i started new pt and he put me on gabapentin, meloxicam and vicodin 5/500. Continued with all that for 6monyhs and only got worse!!!! I suffer from sever pain in back buttock and both legs! Numbness and weakness as well. Its been bery hard because i have 3 wonderful beatiful children and almost never am able to play with them to the extent i wish to. And my stress has put strain on my relationship.
Avatar m tn I also receive 30 meloxicam per month for swelling and pain. Even with all these meds I'm still in pain. My knees, my hips, and my back. Some days I can't bend over to tie my shoes and if I bend over, I can't stand back up straight. I have gone back and forth to my VA doctors, but still no relief. I am so very tired of being in pain. I have been diagnosed with depression, I suffer from PTSD. I am a 54 year old veteran that is fed up with this system.
1165896 tn?1263571386 Hydrocodone won't get rid of the pain; I had that prescribed to me when I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed and with TN it does nothing but make me pass out. Try some Tremidol (has to be prescribed) or Oxycodone. The burning sensation will not go away, but any other pain associated with it might be dissolved.
Avatar m tn I was maxed out on my dosage of Hydrocodone and my doctor wanted to start me on a much stronger, longer acting opiate. I decided to quit and get a true assessment of my pain level. You are on a fairly low dose right now. I was taking about 3 times what you are taking. If you are even considering trying to get off of them, now is the time to do it. The higher you go, the more brutal the detox is. Please stick close to this site.

Avatar m tn As such, I am now expected to eliminate my pain medications---hydrocodone and morphine sulphate---in favor of clonidine, buspirone, baclofen, and meloxicam. Does this even sound remotely correct? I can't believe our medical system has turned into such an arbitrary and capricious animal---there are several hundred chronic pain patients in our remote county who are being treated in a similar manner. Ideas are graciously accepted.
Avatar f tn I finally dozed off after my tests and I woke up with discharge papers beside me, nurse told me to get dressed and later told me I had a kidney infection, gave me cipro and oxycodone and sent me on my way - on the way out I threw up and they also gave me phenergan. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and took the meds, when it didnt get better I realized I should see my doctor. They examined me and said I had inflammation of my hip joint, thats what was causing my pain.
544292 tn?1268886268 Hi and Welcome Tramadol Warriors, Please come on in and make yourself comfy. All are welcome.
Avatar f tn It is very uncomfortable. Tylenol and meloxicam (a prescription NSAID) don't do anything at all to the pain and burning. Sometimes I almost want to take a narcotic pain pill (I have quite a few left over from surgery) just to make this pain stop for a bit, but I have not. It's only better when I'm lying down on my side (which is usually how I sleep). It hurts most when I'm sitting or any time I'm not lying down, lol. I'm getting tired of it and it's getting worse every day.
Avatar f tn I have been on hydrocodone/apap 10/325 for about three months for surgery on my hand{carpal tunnel and Dupre's} then I was taking it for knee pain which helped. I was given Meloxicam 15 mg once a day, this has made all the difference in being able to walk again. I went off the pain meds have not een able to sleep or get to sleep since I went off the pain meds, maybe 2 or 3 hours a nite.
544292 tn?1268886268 Hi Friends, Welcome! Please make yourself at home ... snuggle down by the fire and hang on. It's a bumpy ride.
159619 tn?1499916784 I also have a prescription for Celebrex 100mg twice a day as needed ( which I don't like to take as I work hard to keep my blood pressure controlled) and Hydrocodone 5mg twice a day as needed. I only take one at night to take the pain away enough to get to sleep, then I'm ok for the night. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn As far as reactions go, The only thing I noticed was after the gallbladder surgery, hydrocodone was given to me and it made me break out in hives. I have noticed crazy things happening. Like muscle twitches that last for a few seconds. All ofthe sudden I will be cold. Really cold. Everyone else is fine. But my fingers are turning white and I have got to get a coat and wrap up. I keep gloves with me all the time.
356518 tn?1322267242 Im 33 years old and was diagnosed in February with DJD and DDD in my lower half of my body , including my hips. Im allergic to tramadol,Hydrocodone and Hydrocodeins. Yeap pharmacy told me i was 1 in 100 that was allergic to both. Kinda ***** for me because i go day to day in pain, and cant hardly move anymore, and cant take anything for it that helps anymore because of the high tolerance i have to any pain meds anymore. After about a week of taking Maloxicam it stopped working as good.

544292 tn?1268886268 Welcome Tram Warriors! Part 60. Wow. Over the years of recovery and reading about others, seeing others recover the main thing I have learned is that everyone's life is better without being a slave to Tramadol. You might be stuck and scared right now, but you can make the decision to get yourself off the hamster wheel of Tramadol dependency and even addiction. You don't have to live that way. There's lots of people here to help.
