I agree with MildlyInterestedYetHopelessyConfused. Changes in pH can spur canker sores to show up. Also, canker sores can be caused by agitation in your mouth, sucking, etc. Which, if you gave head, is essentially what went on. There are various types of canker sores. From what I've found out through research and medical inquiry, it's not because your boyfriend is 'unclean' or the general 'cleanliness' of your mouth. No worries there.
Some doctors prescribe mouthwashes that contain tetracycline, an antibiotic, for canker sores.
If you get recurrent canker sores, your toothpaste may be the culprit.
Try toothpaste that does not contain the detergent sodium lauryl sulfate.
This is a detergent that may cause the mucous surfaces in the moth to dry out, leaving them vulnerable to attack from acidic foods. Also, do not use the same toothbrush for longer than one month.
Are you perhaps biting your tongue on the same spot, that turns into a canker soar? Are you getting burning sensations on the corner of your lips? When do you feel burning the most, when you wake up in the morning perhaps?
Anyway, 4-5 days after this took place I started getting some canker sores on the inside of my lips. I have always gotten canker sores in the past so this was not a big shock to me at all. But then about 2 1/2 weeks after being with the sex worker I started getting more canker sores. I also got canker sores in the back of my throat which hurt some. The canker wores would go away and come back 3-5 days later, sometimes in the same sports.
The first couple of days, I did not have a sore throat. The third day, I developed a sore throat as well as multiple canker sores on my gums and way back near my wisdom teeth. My gums in certain areas are tender and feel blistered and the roof of my mouth has the same feeling as if I burnt it on something hot. I have been using "Kanka" to numb my mouth because it is almost impossible for me to eat, but other than that, I don't know what to do or why this has happened.
I have had frequent canker sores for years now. They always vary in size and location from tongue (only side or bottom never top of tongue), to inner cheek, to above the Uvula, etc (only on the inside). I have tried everything from multivitamins even to change of diet and oral hygiene. Nothing seems to work.
Canker sores will appear and then heal after 1-2 weeks then another one surfaces right after that and continues in this pattern.
However, last year I noticed an unusual pattern.
Are you sure that the sores are actually 'canker sores'.I would make sure that your diagnosis is correct. If in fact they are canker sores they will take 7 to 10 days to heal. I usually prescibe a steriod ointment that certainly gives the patient relief. If they persist get a consult with your dentist or an oral surgeon.
i have been researching online a little and it seems that herpes are just cold sores and i dont have cold sores. my tongue and inside of my lips get canker sores at least once a month and they are really painful.
are canker sores different from herpes?
is there anyway to stop them from coming?
are they contagious?
She then said that i probably have herpes 1 because I have had canker sores. However, I have never had a cold sore in my life and I thought that canker sores were from acid building in your mouth. She then said since I have never had a cold sore that I might not have Herpes 1. I have never had a break out of any sort of sore. I can count the number of canker sores I have had on one hand. Can someone please let me know if she is right?
Since I was 8 or 9, I've had recurring apthous ulcers ( better known as canker sores) inside my mouth. Usually it was one or two. A little warm salt Water Rinse and they were gone in about a week.
I'm 32 now, and I'm noticing them popping up more frequently, sometimes up to 4.
Everything I know about canker sores tells me they are not an STD. However, would the appearance of multiple canker sores indicate a possible infection, STD or otherwise?
If you had oral HSV-1 since you were 13, you probably would have been immune to getting it genitally. Canker sores and cold sores are different, to my knowledge. Cold sores from HSV-1 usually occur outside the mouth, somewhere on the lip...not inside. Anyway, try not to let this get you down - if you do have genital HSV-1, you will probably not have many outbreaks, if any more, and they will be less severe than if you had HSV-2.
I have never been diagnosed with HSV1 or 2 but I have gotten canker sores for years. I don't know if this is coincidental or what. I believe I bit my my lip and it turned into a canker sore. However during the same time period I think I had a pair of briefs that were too small and caused rubbing at the base of my shaft and caused small blisters. I had them on at work and I do a lot of walking at work and have very dry skin down there so not very much rubbing seems to cause problems.
I am freaking out. Is it anything I should worry about? Or just canker sores. I have been getting canker sores on and off, but I dont think ever one on my gums.
Dont know if this is related but for a few days now I have been waking up with a dry throat and somewhat of a dry mouth..I have a slight cough here and there.
