Meloxicam and high blood pressure

Common Questions and Answers about Meloxicam and high blood pressure

Avatar n tn I also have high blood pressure and take Ibuprofen (which is like meloxicam as its an NSAID), I was told to drink MORE water so that the Ibuprofen doesn't make the blood pressure worse. Its some sort of chemical thing, a pharmacist told me once. Ever since then, my blood pressure has been so much better. Good luck to you.
1916673 tn?1420236870 There are rare events that can lead to the platelet count being high and these include a fracture, cancer, blood vessel injury and inflammation of the digestive tract, pancreas or liver. When a pet has Cushing’s disease, platelets can increase due to raised cortisol levels. In most cases seen by vets, the platelet count is low – and there are multiple reasons why this might occur.
Avatar n tn I then went to a more progressive ENT in 2005 who did an ethmoidectomy (removed the sinuses from between my eyes)and I really thought my problems were over. My pain and pressure were completely gone and I felt great. Until.....the beginning of the year I started having sinus infection problems with dizzyness and feeling totally lousey. A week and a half ago I was on my 3rd sinus infection when I finally went to a friend who is a Nurse Practitioner and had her culture my sinuses.
Avatar n tn As with most drugs, anti inflamatories/NSAIDs carry warnings and drug interaction risks...Talk to your doc about them....That said, I have found Meloxicam to be of great help for my osteoarthritis. I nolonger take any ibuprophen since starting the med..I am on high blood pressure meds as well.. Best of luck.
606078 tn?1247268153 I take Tramadol, Zoloft, Flexeril, Restoril, high blood pressure meds, a statin for cholesterol, and meloxicam. I couldn't tolerate Lyrica or Neurontin, both made me very ill. My Rhuemy feels that the trauma from having had 3 major knee surgeries in exactly 7 months brought my fibro to fruitation. My grown children and my husband all understand that this disease is unseen but will take total control if I allowed it to do so.
10977101 tn?1414282594 he was nice to listening my symptoms and ordered me to get blood work done to check my hormones and get an ultrasound done. my thyroid hormone was normal and my prolactin level was a little bit high. and my ultrasound showed that i had an 8 mm cyst on my left ovary. so he wrote me a referral to see an obgyn and to get an MRI done to check my pituitary gland. in the mean time he prescribed me meloxicam for pain. i met my new obgyn.
Avatar m tn Also have a appointment with neurology (nurse practictioner would specializes in headaches), but i might just cancel and stick with IM until they run out of thoughts. I did have high blood pressure, which seems to be an ongoing thing. I'm 29/male and this is in Wisconsin.
Avatar n tn Update. I only had 2 margaritas with a meal and about 3 glasses of water w/ dinner so I don't think it was dehydration. And the massive head ache was confined to the lower left back area of my head where all of my symptoms have been for the past 5 weeks. This morning, out of the blue, my nose started bleeding. JUST out of my left side. I immediately called my Dr's office.
Avatar f tn Vomiting; Diarrhea; Low blood pressure; High potassium levels; Lack of menstruation. My mother had a very low cortisol level and it was caused by Addison's Disease. Later she got Hashimoto's as well Type I Diabetes. I would say that maybe a low cortisol and a high TSH together might be cause for a high starting dose of thyroid medication. 150 mcg to start is quite high. Your doctor obviously has a reason to start you on the high dose.
Avatar m tn I put it off until late october/early november everything happened all at once, the pain was so strong i thought i was having a heart attack and the panic attack only made it worse so i rushed to the ER, had various test such as a blood test, urine test, EKG and checked my blood pressure and everything came back normal and i was sent home.

Avatar n tn i have been diognosed with an inflamation near spine lower back (pinched nerve) and I also have high blood pressure is there an anti-inflamatory i can take that wont increase my blood pressure?
534785 tn?1329595808 this morning, I will have the remaining images taken and then await the results from the doctor. I had an appointment today, as well, to follow-up on my ultrasound and recent bloodwork. Apparently, everything was normal again, across the three sets of bloodwork that had been done over the past three or four weeks. My TSH went from 1.58 to 2.77, though, and as of last week, my thyroid antibody levels (TPO and TG) were within range.
Avatar f tn Very hard to describe when I think about it. It just simply hurts. Ive taken a meloxicam but all that seems to do is give me jaw discomfort and a horrible pressure headache. My CRNP also recommended that I see a Chiropractor but I am leery that this may make my pain worse without really knowing if there is any real issues going on in there.
Avatar m tn I mean that they paced in front of my door and I had a heart monitor and blood pressure every 5 min. I truly believe they messed me up bad and I would like to know just what happened ...I am still numb in both hands and feet. It is only getting worse since now I have pain everywhere in my body. Actually that is when all the back pain started..HMMM? Of course, they cover their hides with the statute of limitations..conveinient..
1930941 tn?1400111122 had blood work done on Monday and its showed positive Arthritis and high sed rate. I have been clean and sober for 308 days and the pain recently has really been pushing my limits. Maybe I never noticed that last few years cause of the pain meds I took. But I am only 42, and now this crap. My doctor started me on Meloxicam to help remove the swelling in my joints and help with the pain. She knows full well my hx... and I know that Meloxicam is not a narcotic. Does anyone have any thoughts?
Avatar m tn for about 2 years it was just a very low hum in RIGHT EAR and just random (but at nights when lying down trying to sleep) - i put up with it as wasnt too bad but now its got much worse (louder and every night) and there is also a ringing (like pressure build up when blood rushes to your head - that sort of noise you hear when you pass out) but that ringing is VERY low but possibly because the hum is overpowering it, I can hear the ring when I put my head under water in the bath, i noticed once
Avatar n tn put on antibiotics for 6 months, seemed to help for awhile but not completely. finally tried some blood pressure meds also used for bph, to help the blood flow, seems to have helped for the most part. havent had the pain in quite awhile and hopefully dont . hope this helps someone.
Avatar n tn I've seen suggestions for fish oil, daily exercise, chiropractic adjustment, hip replacement, blood diseases, fibromyalgia, and more. It doesn't appear that the condition is understood by the medical profession yet. Anyone come up with a reliable course of action?
Avatar f tn Sinusitis, refractive errors of the eye, migraine, cluster headaches, brain tumors, high blood pressure, temporal arteritis, pinched cervical spinal nerve, tension headaches, poor or disturbed sleep etc are several causes of headaches. Dental pain and ear ache can cause similar symptoms. Please consult a headache and migraine specialist to rule out these causes one by one. Take care!
Business man2 I try to have my patients take very little daily ibuprofen/naproxen as they can lead to kidney disease (based on total lifetime dose), high blood pressure (meloxicam) and stomach ulcers. Also, the anti-platelet effect of aspirin (which is how it prevents heart attacks) is reduced when taken with daily ibuprofen/naproxen. I hope this helps!
Avatar f tn IGE a little high with no known origin (multitude of tests) and ESRs high. Blood pressure always low end of normal. Body temp is often 96.8 or it is over 99. Neg for CMV, Mono, EBNA,VCA,and Lime Due to the constant right side flank pain and past blood/urine test results they did to a renal scan last year. Looking for possible stones and see if they were working correctly.
Avatar n tn i have had high blood pressure for a number of years medicines taken at presentare ramipril lercanidipien atenonol simvastatin doxiszohzin aspirin also meloxicam for arthritis now when ever i start to do a simple thing like sweeping the florr or going up an incline i get a terrible pain in my chest that spreads to my neck my arms and legs feel like dead weights and i have to struggle to take a breath feel really breathless
Avatar n tn My doctor is the one who prescribed the Naproxin. He is aware of course, that I have high blood pressure. He said controlling the blood pressure is more important than my hands feeling better. He said if I have a stroke, I won't care if my hands hurt. But I think the Naproxin is raising my blood pressure. So if you are staying away from all anti-infammatory medications, what are you doing for your arthritis pain???
Avatar m tn Problem is it started shooting up my blood pressure quite high so had to come off it.. My questions is will all meds of this type do the same thing.
Avatar m tn On a recent urine test all of my meds came back positive except for the Opana. I am diabetic and have high blood pressure and my PCP told me the last time that I had some kidney functioning issues. Is there any reason that just the Opana would come up negative?
534785 tn?1329595808 Keep in mind that my EBV was high, and I tested positive for parvovirus. Not one to fold her hand easily, I trudged to the appointment I had scheduled for this morning, anyway, notebook, pen, and lab results in hand. The GP wasn't going to know what hit her.
487969 tn?1249316891 Well - I had a bad morning so far today and can not wrap my head around what is wrong with this body of mine since my "normal" blood is always normal. Today I am getting numbness / tingles in the outer fingers (ring & pinky) in both hands that travels up the outer / side arm (and under) and on my left arm, stops at the elbow. On my right, it goes to the shoulder. It feels like something crawling at times, I don't understand it.
