maxalt

Avatar f tn Side effects of Maxalt is pressure in your chest & throat. I did ok the times I've only needed it once. But, today I had to take it twice. After that second dose...omg, the pressure is HORRIBLE!!!!!!! I honestly think it is worse than a migraine. There are no words to describe it. You can't breathe & you can barely swallow just your saliva! I'm wondering if it is side effects that get better the more you take it? And if it does...
Avatar f tn It has been the only antidepressant that I have found to be successful without side effects. I also take lithium (it helps with the migraines), and that is sort of an antidepressant but not really. As for triptans, my regular triptan is Zomig Nasal Spray. On average, I use Zomig Nasal Spray every other day. But, there are times where I will go 3 or 4 days without needing to use it. And there are also times where I will use it every day for sometimes up to a week.
655875 tn?1295695107 I have no side effects with the Maxalt. When I take the Maxalt, it will stop the migraine an instant about an hour after taking the medicine. The maxalt has been a miracle drug for my headaches and I normally only have to take one in a day. This is one of the very few medicines that my body will tolerate without any problems. The Maxalt must still be working because I'm still very sick to my stomach. I bet I'd still have the migraine if I didn't take the medicine.
1125820 tn?1265284446 Hi MsConfusedone, You mention that you have been on almost everything, can you be more specific? It would help knowing exactly what you have tried so that I could suggest medications that you have not tried. Also, how many migraines do you get per month? Yes, most migraine medications do work well for most people. But, not everyone has the same success with all medications. For acute treatment of migraine headaches, first line treatment is triptans.
Avatar n tn If your Doctor is aware of the potential side effects of Tramadol and Maxalt and you are being closely monitored, then I apologize for alarming you. If not, you definitely need to talk to him/her about it. Should you decide to discontinue one of these drugs before speaking with your Doctor, the Maxalt would be the one. Don't stop taking the Tramadol. It has to be tapered down.
621290 tn?1226720261 The medicines in your profile have a relatively low risk of serious side-effects when used under the normal supervision of your doctor. No interactions have been identified between your drugs and conditions.
Avatar m tn blue hands and face, low respiration, eyes rolling backwards, staggering, tremoring arms upon waking up, disorientation, etc. Does anyone know what the side effects would be of injecting maxalt? I find this impossible to believe that it would knock her out and turn her blue. Sadly, the police & EMT's didn't have just cause to bring her to the hospital. I'm at my wits end. Thanks for any help.
Avatar f tn Hey please give me some advice if you can. I have a road test schedule for Monday. but the thing is i had did a driving class today the thing was i had an anxiety attact but i was able to hide it from the instructor. The thing is before any test I start to have a real bad migraine which starts to bother me really bad. Avatar f tn Hi.....I have both migraines and depression. My neuro doc put me on Topamax (I take it daily) for migraine management and when I do get "breakthrough" migraines I take Maxalt. The Topamax has worked wonders!!! But it isn't without some nasty side effects. Initially it causes your feet, hands and face to tingle (that goes away)....but it plays hell with your memory (not everyone gets this, but I did). It takes away your appetite (at least it did for me).
Avatar n tn ve been getting the headaches/migraines about once every two weeks. I take maxalt and fiorinal and the maxalt works much better. The fiorinal does not make a huge difference, so I rarely take it.
Avatar n tn The doctor prescribed Maxalt - a wafer type tablet that you allow to dissolve on your tongue
390338 tn?1206462648 I really can't say that the Topamax is helping yet. I have been slowly increasing the dosage. I guess maybe if I stretch the positive a little I was at the point of getting migraines that were lasting at least 3 days sometimes 4 with only a few days break before getting another. Now I have been having a full week in between but some pretty good headaches that others still might consider a migraine. So, he did increase from 100mg to 125mg today. So, I'm not sure yet.
768044 tn?1294223436 I currently use zomig nasal spray. I give it two thumbs up! In the past I have also used Maxalt (the dissolving kind) and Axert. I like zomig. The taste of the nasal spray isn't great (okay, it's TERRIBLE), but it works better than the tablets (in my personal experience and also this is true in terms of the chemical interaction of the medication in the various forms as they've found via scientific trials...
Avatar f tn nor the Pharmacy told me it was dangerous so at first, I was....I could have died. Luckily, I only take the Maxalt as needed for Migraines and I always take my last pain pill a few hours before bed...so there was a gap in time from taking the oxy and ambien. I also stopped taking the Cymbalta and think that most of my depression is being brought on by knowing I am addicted to pain medicine. As for the Propranolol...this medicine is for a fast, irregular heartbeat...
Avatar f tn Once again im going to not eat those things for a month and see what happens. I read online about the side effects of MAXALT and I am kinda worried about even trying it if I was to buy it. Anyone have any suggestions of weather to try it or not about MAXALT? She also suggested rather than taking birth control pills, she can give me the needle. Im really not thinking about that. If worse comes to worse I will try going off Yasmin and see what happens.
Avatar m tn i stop taking inderal and i take maxalt wafer so when i have a migraine i take 2 co-codamol 30-500 and take a maxalt wafer that melts on my tongue , and it does help it cuts the pain rite down pretty quick x
591470 tn?1218975186 Hello. Sorry that you are having such bad migraines. Have you tried Imitrex tabs or the Imitrex shot. When I was taking a course of chemo I had the worst migraines ever and the Imitrex really helped me. It gave me slight light headedness but well worth the side effects. It is by prescription. If you haven't tried it.....give it is shot. It might help.
Avatar f tn I'm sorry to hear all the news. =( I would def. get with your Dr. and let him know the symptoms. You have not been on Celexa long enough it sounds. Probably wouldn't hurt to explore stopping the drug and see if your symptoms go away? Ask Dr. first. Best of luck!
Avatar f tn I also get migraines. have you paid attention to any of the known migraine "triggers" like red wiine & chocolate, hard cheeses etc. You probably have but I thought I'd mention it. Like the others, I take Maxalt for mine & it always works. Maxalt is from the migraine interrupter family & also includes imetrix & Zomig. Good luck - it sounds very difficult.
4980051 tn?1361868778 I have used trileptal. It is also a antiseizure med, and worked better than the topomax. The issue for me was that even at the absolute lowest effective dosage it was too sedating.
1577473 tn?1296177286 Hello, I am a 21 year old college student and I have had the occasional migraine all my life. In September I started getting migraines more frequently. I had a really nasty one that forced me to go to a walk in clinic for some immediate care. I got a shot of Torridol that didn't work and a prescription for 100 mg Imitrex. The Imitrex didn't even touch the migraine and I wasn't happy with the side effects.

655875 tn?1295695107 Every morning I wake up with a severe headache/migraine/sinus headache. I'm not sure if I'm making them worse by taking aspirin or Maxalt to relieve the headaches. I wake up and my head is pounding, so I walk into the kitchen and grab the ice pack. I will try and abort the headache with the ice pack before resorting to aspirin or ibuprofen. If the ice pack does not work with in 20-30 minutes, I will take either aspirin or ibuprofen.
Avatar n tn There they did a CT scan of my head and did not find anything abnormal. The ER doctor chalked it up to bad side effects from the Maxalt which should go away on their own. He also said that I might have slept on my arm funny causing it to fall asleep. This was definitely not the case as I am brighter than that. Plus, had that been the case, I really do not think that the numbness would have lasted for so long.
