Avatar f tn Side effects of Maxalt is pressure in your chest & throat. I did ok the times I've only needed it once. But, today I had to take it twice. After that second dose...omg, the pressure is HORRIBLE!!!!!!! I honestly think it is worse than a migraine. There are no words to describe it. You can't breathe & you can barely swallow just your saliva! I'm wondering if it is side effects that get better the more you take it? And if it does...
Avatar n tn HI, my husband just moved to India for a month and has forgotten his prescription medication in America (Maxalt MLT) Is there anyone who would know what the Indian version of Maxalt MLT would be? I am currently posting from america. I could have it shipped but the cost and everything would take too long.
Avatar m tn She proclaims that she diluted and injected her migraine medicine (Maxalt) because she keeps throwing it up. Her symptoms, however, where those of an opiate overdose....blue hands and face, low respiration, eyes rolling backwards, staggering, tremoring arms upon waking up, disorientation, etc. Does anyone know what the side effects would be of injecting maxalt? I find this impossible to believe that it would knock her out and turn her blue.
Avatar f tn does either imitrex or maxalt contain caffeine? I was taking Maxalt for migraines and it worked great! Now my insurance has decided I need to try Imitrex before they will approve coverage for the Maxalt. The Imitrex took about 2 hours to have any effect, but eventually my headache subsided. Since then I have had recurring headaches for 4 days.
655875 tn?1295695107 Every morning I wake up with a severe headache/migraine/sinus headache. I'm not sure if I'm making them worse by taking aspirin or Maxalt to relieve the headaches. I wake up and my head is pounding, so I walk into the kitchen and grab the ice pack. I will try and abort the headache with the ice pack before resorting to aspirin or ibuprofen. If the ice pack does not work with in 20-30 minutes, I will take either aspirin or ibuprofen.
Avatar n tn About a year later I began to have periodic headaches. They have been increasing in quantity and severity until about a year and a half ago I had to stop working completely. I am on a combination of darvacet, tramadol, topomax and maxalt. The combination leaves me in bed about 18 hours a day. I have had two MRIs. One with contrast and one without. Neither shows any good reason for my pain.
655875 tn?1295695107 I've been getting migraines ever since I was a small child. When I was a teenager, I would get the migraines monthly and once in a while due to stress. It wasn't until 2007 before I finally went to the doctor to get some type of medicine for the migraines. When I injured my neck the migraines have become much more frequent and they often occur several days a week and sometimes daily. The migraines now will start from the back of my neck.
Avatar f tn I had a similar problem with Maxalt (a drug in the same class as Relpax-they are both triptans). My insurance would only cover 12 pills, and I need more. My doctor filled out the necessary paperwork for my insurance co., saying I need more than "typically alotted". The pharmacy division of your insurance co. can give you more info. If that's not possible, have you tried another triptan? Maxalt, Imitrex, and Relpax all work for my migraines. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Also, my symtoms don't exactly match the standard either, but after going to a Headache clinic I was confirmed as having migraines-the pain is on either the left or right front of my forehead never goes beyond the ears and can be a real pain unless I catch them at the beginning, if wake up with "full blown" it becomes a race btw the Maxalt and the migraine, I have had anywhere from 15-18 per month, also have to use strong coffee and ice pack or it's just a waste of the Maxalt a
Avatar n tn Did you know there is artificial sweetener in Maxalt? I would not touch that drug with 10 ft pole as artificial sweeteners are a huge migraine trigger.
1577473 tn?1296177286 Hello, I am a 21 year old college student and I have had the occasional migraine all my life. In September I started getting migraines more frequently. I had a really nasty one that forced me to go to a walk in clinic for some immediate care. I got a shot of Torridol that didn't work and a prescription for 100 mg Imitrex. The Imitrex didn't even touch the migraine and I wasn't happy with the side effects.
Avatar f tn Has anyone used Remeron for depression, while taking Maxalt for their migraines? I have migraines about every other day, and take 5mg maxalt for them. I was just given Remeron for depression, as the doc said i cannot take any SSRI's because of serotonin syndrome. I cannot find and interactions for Remeron, but just wondering if anyone else has tried these together. Any info appreciated.
Avatar f tn Maxalt rocks. I love it and carry it everywhere with me. www.maxalt.com Another new med www.relpax.com (I have some, just not had a headache lately to use them) because I take my magnesium :0-). Here is a good site with migraine info. http://www.achenet.org/ And you need to get your migraine "bible" I got mine off of half.com cheap. This book helped me a lot in understanding my headaches and lots of good info.
Avatar n tn I take 2 to 4 Maxalt with 1 to 2 oxycodone (10mg) or vicodin (500 mg) per day, I have chronic migraine. It's not really per day, it just seems like it since my migraine usually last 2 to 4 days too. Just recently found out am 5 weeks pregnant. So I stopped the Maxalt right away since it falls under category C. So I take either Oxy or Vicodin. Half the time I cut them in half. I usually take the other half later on when I start feeling the pain coming back.
1030950 tn?1261010513 Kapalbhati -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for upto 15 minutes twice a day. Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.

655875 tn?1295695107 Right now I'm on my 7th migraine in the last 4 weeks. I have a herniated c5-7 that is compressing on the spinal cord. I've been taking Maxalt with some of my migraines, which does help, but insurance only allows so many in a month and they are expensive. I've been also taking percocet in place of the maxalt, but it does not work as well for the headaches. Is there something I can do to try and prevent these migraines? Are there other natural alternatives rather then medication?
Avatar f tn For several years I have dealt with headaches, and recently they have gotten worse and more often. They start on one side of the head first, and extremely painful. Pain is in my nose, temples and contiunes to the back of the neck. I try tylenol, motrin combined wtih a sinus reliever and that only makes me sick to my stomach. After a few days with the pain on one side it will fade and go away then come back on the opposite side for another few days always the same type of pain.
1125820 tn?1265284446 I believe that fast acting triptans are the best in most situations because they work the fastest. Fast acting triptans come in orally disintegrating tablets or nasal sprays. I personally use Zomig Nasal Spray and find it works extremely well. I also have found great success with Maxalt-MLTs. Statistically, compared to the other triptans, Imitrex Injection, Zomig Nasal Spray and Maxalt-MLTs have the highest success rates for total pain relief in the shortest amount of time.
