maxalt for children

When I was having frequent migraines and my insurance would only pay for one refill of Maxalt each month, I obtained prescriptions for both Maxalt and Relpax and filled both each month. They worked equally well for me.

My first 2pregnacys they also gave me vicoden for when migranes were unbearable. This pregnancy my Dr told me I could also take maxalt( I was told w my first 2 that maxalt was not safe AT ALL) after doing some research I decided against maxalt but am continuing firocet.

I also get migraines. have you paid attention to any of the known migraine "triggers" like red wiine & chocolate, hard cheeses etc. You probably have but I thought I'd mention it. Like the others, I take Maxalt for mine & it always works. Maxalt is from the migraine interrupter family & also includes imetrix & Zomig. Good luck - it sounds very difficult.

She proclaims that she diluted and injected her migraine medicine (Maxalt) because she keeps throwing it up. Her symptoms, however, where those of an opiate overdose....blue hands and face, low respiration, eyes rolling backwards, staggering, tremoring arms upon waking up, disorientation, etc. Does anyone know what the side effects would be of injecting maxalt? I find this impossible to believe that it would knock her out and turn her blue.

Glad to hear the Maxalt worked for you. That is so sweet of the Dr to give you samples. Please let us know how the insurance responds. I liked Maxalt too, and now I can't remember why they switched to Zomig.

does either imitrex or maxalt contain caffeine? I was taking Maxalt for migraines and it worked great! Now my insurance has decided I need to try Imitrex before they will approve coverage for the Maxalt. The Imitrex took about 2 hours to have any effect, but eventually my headache subsided. Since then I have had recurring headaches for 4 days.

is there a generic for maxalt? is tere one coming.

Hello Kalvin. Thanks for your input. The maxalt is for when I am really bad ( once a month or so ). As for a specialist of any kind, we are in the same place a lot of people are right now. No extra means for anything. Oh well, such is life. Thanks again for your responce.

i took 2 maxalt on saturday for a migraine, it didnt help at all, actually made it worse making me vomit for 3 days and today is friday, 6 days later and i still feel like, tired, weak, foggy, not hungry, cant really go to the bathroom even though i feel like i have to. is this gonna go away?

I use Maxalt 10mg tablets. I'd never be able to handle the disintegrating tablets due to throwing up. The Maxalt works wonderful for me and I've been using it for the last 2 years. I've never had any side effects while using this medication.

Has anyone used Remeron for depression, while taking Maxalt for their migraines? I have migraines about every other day, and take 5mg maxalt for them. I was just given Remeron for depression, as the doc said i cannot take any SSRI's because of serotonin syndrome. I cannot find and interactions for Remeron, but just wondering if anyone else has tried these together. Any info appreciated.

Hello, I have had an ongoing headache with nausea for about three weeks. Mri and labs checked out ok. Darvocet, tylenol, ibuprofen dont seem to help much. Dr gave me a shot in my neck which helped for two days but also left me with flushing. The same Dr gave me Naproxen and hydracodone but i cannot take the hydracodone as it upsets my stomach and basically does not allow me to function.The front and back of my head hurt as do my neck and jaw.

Hi, U shouldn't even be thinking of taking any prescription drugs while you are pregnant. These per day habbit is awfully dangerous thing to do. I was in Hospital suffering a misscarrage and the nurses tried to give me 2 Oxy-codone but I refuse to take it opting for panadol. I relize that you've been in this meds for a period of time now - that's were people abuse this meds and that they become addicted to this powerful pain killers.

Hello! I am 34 years old for the past 2 years I have been getting nausea with constant headache for 6 days before my period. It's to the point where I'm on zofran and have maxalt for headache. I can't leave my house because I feel like I'm going to vomit but I don't. I guess that's a good thing, lol zofran works. Once I get my period it goes away! Anyone experience this or have any feedback thank you!!!

I have been having really bad headaches (8/10 on he pain scale) everyday for 10 days already, the worst and longest headache i have ever had. I have gone to the doctors and they put me on a pain medication (a triptan) which helped for a little while but my headaches still came back, i again went back to0 the doctor the next day and he decided to put me on sleeping pills, thinking it was my sleep patterns that were affecting my headaches.

We used a simple calendar for the last 12 years to quantify the number of migraines, aborted due to medication like Maxalt, disability days, and to try to determine what commenced the migraines. We've narrowed it to weather changes and electrical equipment. 4) Consider very strongly whether electrical equipment could be influencing your migraines.

ve been also taking percocet in place of the maxalt, but it does not work as well for the headaches. Is there something I can do to try and prevent these migraines? Are there other natural alternatives rather then medication?

every time i go to the docs they say thats what it is i wish they would send me for tests so that i know for sure it spoiles your life as it disrups your daily life most of all if u have children to contend with i am going to go back to the doctors and try ang get them to send me for a mri i hope u get better soon please let me know how u get on i will to ok kind regards sheila.

I went to the neurologist yesterdayand they have now ordered and MRI brain scan set for 3:30 this afternoon. They also gave me nortryptaline and maxalt to take instead of the fioricet that I've been taking. The maxalt worked right away, but I did wake up later on last night with a headache again. I go back to the neurologist next month for a follow-up.
